Food was great, I got the taco dinner, the setting was nice they have a table swing to eat at. the people were nice,

Rice burrito lol

Very stingy on meat. They overfill their burritos with rice and a very small amount of meat. Rip off. Not coming back.

Highlights of this trip: - excellent beans and rice - cheap price for taco's Came to El Oasis because my nephew wanted to get some Mexican food. We pulled up, parked, waited in line and went with the following items. - Dinner Special (3 tacos with Carintas, rice and beans) - Tostadas with Pastor - Chips and Salsa - Pork Tamales - Torta I was told taco's were small, so I ended up ordering more then usual. Here's what I thought based upon my first experience. - Chips were good, salsa needed some more seasoning; could have used more Lemon and salt. - Pork Tamales - good, lot better then other joints, recommend. - Torta - my nephew had it, he said it was good. I'll have to try it next time. - Tostadas - it was decent, was disappointed because the el pastor(pork) was dried out so the overall dish was just decent. - Dinner Special - 3 tacos, rice and beans, the rice and beans were excellent, a lot better then lot of other Mexican joints that I've tried. Two prices - lower price for the regular meats, upcharge for special meats. I got all my 3 tacos with carnita. While the meat was perfectly cooked, and moist, it lacked seasoning and was on the bland side of the taste aisle. Highlight of this visit had to be the beans and rice, they were excellent, a lot better then a lot of other Mexican joints. While Carnita was good, it lacked flavors and el pastor was dried out. I'm hoping this was just one off day and I'll have a different experience on my next visit. Expect to wait. Was told it'd be 10 minutes to get our food, but honestly with just one person preparing one order at a time, it took 30 minutes to get our food and 10 minutes to consume it. Order at the window, wait, pay when you pick up the food.

Great taco stand, and maybe the best Mexican food in the whole town. Love the tacos but you can't go wrong with anything they serve.

Wonderful food, closer to what I remember from my time in the Yucatan than any place in recent memory. Great and friendly service!!

Tongue and tripe tacos yummy. Green sauce is good and extra cilantro. Wish they had al pastor on the rotating spit, that's my fav.

Cheap, authentic, Mexican food, made in front of your eyes in a parking lot by Michigan and Francis. What more could you want?

I couldn't deny my enthusiasm about this month's assignment being carnivore-friendly given our most…read morerecent review focused on vegetarian options, that while still very satisfying, still lacked the savory gratification of meat and more meat. Smoked, braised, grilled, roasted, or fried bring it on- either when I eat out or if I'm in my own personal happy place in front of my smoker. Enter Zynda's, a southwestern restaurant that now occupies the former Red Cedar Grill (one of my all-time favorite restaurants in the area) in Williamston. The venue has been nicely updated and far more open than I recalled its predecessor. There are several dining options including a nice bar serving craft cocktails, upscale booths for a special night, and the Chimney Room which can seat up to 50 guests. Billed as a barbecue restaurant on some food sites, Zynda's menu is part Tex-Mex, part New American, with some French, Asian, Cajun, and Mediterranean elements. I usually subscribe to the theory that restaurants that do a lot of everything rarely do anything exceptionally well. Zynda's had a lot of high notes, to be sure, but a lack of focus was evident on others. What's Really Good I'm a big fan of the ribeye when slathered in the bearnaise sauce. It was aromatic and rich, but not over-powering. Not as thick as most restaurants' ribeye, the steak was still cooked perfectly and paired well with the grilled asparagus. The smoked chicken atop the Baked "mac n cheese" with penne pasta was rich in smokiness. The dish had plenty of melty cheesy goodness and benefitted from both the creamy béchamel base and the crunch from panko crumbles. Likewise, the au gratin potatoes were rich and scrumptious with a nice kick from chiles. Can I get some more of this please? The onion rings were another hit, thick-cut and crispy, the batter was less greasy than some other area favorites. On lighter notes, the Michigan Springtime Salad with carrots, dried cranberries, walnuts, capers, and feta cheese and a red wine vinaigrette, and the Caesar Salad with a citrusy punch were both quite good. What's Just Ok The Smoked Chicken Quesadilla was solid, but not outstanding. The blending of Tex-Mex and slow smoking is a tricky matter, and the meat didn't shine like it did in the pasta. Further attention to detail could have been paid to several items: the corn chowder was missing the potato and bacon pictured on the menu; the coleslaw lacked creaminess and salt; and while the Southwest Pulled Pork Eggrolls, jam packed with black beans, corn, and green chiles, were an interesting way to enjoy Zynda's smoked delicacies, the smoked pork seemed at odds with everything else in each bite rather than enhanced by them. The dipping sauce added yet another layer of taste but offered a comforting cool to the Southwestern brawl. Best Bite A southwestern smokehouse will need to bring it in the flavor department when it comes to brisket. Zynda's Corned Beef Brisket was on point. Tender and juicy, the brisket was packed with a depth of flavor from both the corning and smoking processes. The flavor was ramped up a notch when coupled with either the AZ's Sweet & Savory sauce (closer to Kansas City-style tomato base and brown sugar) or the ZBQ sauce (a zestier, vinegar-based sauce akin to a Memphis-style sauce). Served with shoestring fries and a delightful jalapeño cornbread, this smokey and hearty plate is what I expect when I think of BBQ,

Not me... the Fajitas were scrimpy & mostly Veggies. We go to ACAPULCO & always get really great food & their Fajitas are full of whatever meat you choose garnished with grilled veggies - not filled either them ... I do think that maybe the Pablo Management needs to visit them or eat there & view their Menu & taste their food. Old Town wasn't any better there at Pablo's as the food wasn't good & again runny unappetizing beans.

We ordered the Chilaquiles Verde, Chile Rellenos, Cheese Quesadillas with side of guacamole, and American Tacos. For drinks we had the Limonada. The result: 1) Chilaquiles-we're awesome. The Verde sauce with the beans really made the dish. 2) Chile Rellenos - was very good. It was surprising that there were carrots in the stuffing with the meat. The combination was good. 3) Quesadilla- can't go wrong but the side of guacamole was fresh and very tasty. 4) American tacos - is at the top of my child's list of tacos from restaurants and my child is very picky. 5) Limonada - home made fresh lime juice blended with ice drink; very refreshing and one of the best I have had. Overall this is a place that I will come back to again!
