First time visit - fast and friendly service. Music in background good - ambiance nice. Enjoyed the food - had chicken soup very good. Definitely recommend.

Robbinsville is a very small town location in North Carolina very close to the famous Tail of the Dragon. We stayed one night to ride the Dragon and other well known scenic roads. After spending 5+ hours on the bike, we made it to our room to change and seek out some food. Options are very limited and I did not want fast food. Reviews seemed pretty good, so Mexican it was! Upon arrival, we were greeted promptly and sat at a table. The ubiquitous chips and salsa arrived. We ordered the chori cheese dip and the al pastor tacos. The dip was bubbling white cheese dip with a generous portion of crispy chorizo mixed in. It was delicious! The tacos were seasoned grilled pork and pineapple stuffed into soft, homemade corn tortillas. They were served with rice, beans, onions, lime, cilantro and a hot sauce. For those like me who are spice weaklings, the al pastor has a little kick that builds as you eat. Take some heartburn meds and enjoy it! I loved the sweet bite from the pineapple and the super tender tortillas. The place went from almost empty to packed while we were eating so it took a few minutes to get boxes and the check because the employees were walking around non-stop. We took leftovers back and the restaurant provided to go utensils upon request. Our hotel provided "breakfast" but in reality was prepackaged microwaveable items due to Covid. Luckily our leftovers were still good the nuked in a hotel microwave at 8am before the day's rides!

This place is phenomenal I had the Chile poblano and enchiladas a few days ago and wow! Never expected that kind of flavor one of the best I've had, the Chile was so fresh and snappy.. service was good for the amount of people that came with me and that where there. Today I had the chicken soup and the carne asada and I must say DAYUM!!! The Chile they give you is grilled and seasoned to perfection, the grilled onion and nopales make a perfect combination with the asada which has really good flavor! The amount of food they give is generous, it filled this big boy up! If your around these parts definitely stop by! You won't be disappointed

Very good old school Mexican restaurant. All the choices are there. Everything is surprisingly good. The salsa is fresh taste, the cheese dip flavorful and rich. The entrees are hearty and very tasty. Not fancy versions of the old school Mexican food classics just very well executed with rather high quality ingredients. The steak burrito was large with good sized pieces of meat. The ingredients were well proportioned. The result was that the flavors could be tasted. The friendly service was a pleasure. I was seated promptly, chips and water were brought right away The chips were refilled quickly. The courteous and helpful server took my order as soon as I was ready. My food came out fast and hot. The prices were reasonable on the low side. Standout example of traditional Mexican restaurant, good food, plenty of it at a good price.

Cozy little Mexican restaurant located right in the middle of the main drag in Robbinsville, NC. Close parking with additional parking across the street. The new Elote Mexican street corn) is pretty awesome!

Delicious! Great service! We had a table of seven and got seated quickly and served quickly. The food was all great! Just be aware that it is a dry county. Hi th my recommend!

We got take out tonight to sit and eat by a nearby lake. The taco salad was plentiful and had a good amount of guacamole, tomatoes and shredded chicken in a flakey shell. The fajita burritos were full of chicken, peppers, onions, mushrooms and had a white cheese sauce on top. They were delicious. It was a great choice for fast takeout in a quaint North Carolina town !

Lacks flavor, more like an American version of a Mexican restaurant, and a poor imitation at that.. Have to admit the service was good.

The food was fine... standard Mexican fare. The waitress was indifferent and had no personality. She just couldn't be bothered...

Other than The Hub, this is one of the only places I would trust to eat at in town. Food is always great, same with the service!

The entree, two chalupas, was very fresh and looked appetizing on the plate. When it ate a bit flat, it dawned on me that there was no cheese on either chalupa. The dish was in grave need of the richness and tang that cheese provides. I dumped my salsa on one chalupa and my cheese dip on the other, and the meal was saved. But it seemed I had provided a lot of aid to an entree that should have been self-sufficient. 3 stars. The side of rice was ample, and packed a pungent dose of annato (achiote), the ingredient that gives Spanish rice its characteristic color and flavor pop. 4 stars. The bathroom was pretty clean, and the interior was festive and welcoming, 4 stars. Service was great, 5 stars.

It could have been really good but it was so not good! The chicken was similar to something you would get out of a bag of chicken fajitas one would buy in the freezer action of a grocery store. It was not cooked like fajita meat, it was reheated chicken. Nasty. Really. My husband ordered beef enchiladas, his go to when trying a new place. They were taste less and just well, meh. The waiter was lackadaisical we never received a refill and never received a check back, we finally got up and went to the register and paid with out a receipt. Would not return It is painfully obvious that no one there has a passion for food or service. Sad really, with different management this place could be great. Lots of potential, but it just falls flat.

It obviously has plenty of other charms, most notably its beautiful and remote Blue Ridge mountain environment. But dining options turned out to be drab indeed. The Santo Niño tienda and restaurant was very much an exception, though. We only made it there once but should have come here for every restaurant meal we had while in the area. Based on a couple of tortas, this humble family-run spot killed it on the food. Everything was fresh as it could be, and the kitchen does not skimp on the more-expensive ingredients like avocado and meat, or any other ingredient for that matter. These were sizeable sandwiches. Lengua was tender and succulent, and the wife thought the chorizo was great, too. The tortas are served with fries that were better than they looked (which was rather Ore-Ida-ish)--piping hot with some crispiness to them. I was only a little bummed because it was only after our food was on the way that I realized that the restaurant has pozole on Sundays. Santo Niño occupies a spot in a shabby and grim strip center on the western edge of town. Don't be deterred by this. The business inside is hardly fancy, but it has a warm and comforting feel.
