Service was fast and friendly, food was delicious and I'm so happy I went with the recommendation of shredded beef in the chimichanga - super flavorful and juicy, much better than most and elevated the humble chimi. We stopped here for lunch after visiting Everett for some family historical research. We had the lunch special Carnitas burrito. It was delicious! We sat outside on a gorgeous sunny day which made it even more pleasant. The warm bean dip with salsa and chips was delicious and a treat. I would highly recommend El Paraiso. Stopped into this location on a whim because I wanted chips, salsa, and a margarita. The chips were fresh and salsa was bland there was also a side of beans to dip too which was a nice accent but it too lacked flavor. The thing I was excited for the most to arrive was my least favorite...the margarita....it was reminiscent of the margaritas I made when I graduated high school. Definitely not the best but doable when you're an underage teen (don't judge me) trying to be cool and make a mixed drink, it definitely did not pass the muster as a grown up whom can afford a tasty cocktail. I also ordered the chicken quesadilla and the only tasty part was the tortilla (fresh:))and the cheese inside, the chicken was tough and bland. It will be interesting to see how the enchiladas taste tomorrow because I was so unimpressed by the filling of the protein in quesadilla that I didn't bother eating the entree. I awarded three stars just for how nice the staff was and because they had fresh tortillas being made right as you walk in now that was the game changer. This place was great!! Upon entering you are greeted by one of the servers and a cook who is literally serving homemade tortillas right in front of you! You get to see how they are made and prepared right in front of you! Me and my husband were given a homemade tortilla with salsa! It was delicious!!! We went on a Friday it was pretty busy, but they don't keep you waiting for too long. The food was amazing and it was exactly what me and my husband were craving. Although they are a bit pricy, it's worth it. The waiting for the food was a long wait and service was okay. They don't offer military discount. The drinks are super strong and good. It has been a journey to find a decent Mexican restaurant that is actually good here in town. Hands down will be coming back maybe for a date night or those craving hours lol. read more

Came to Everett for a post hike meal. Initially we wanted to eat at the ramen shop next door but the wait was too long so we decided to checkout this el Paraiso instead. Oh boy did we get lucky as we had some of the best Mexican food in the Seattle area. I had the mixed fajita platter and the portion was huge (enough for 2 adults). We randomly stopped here last weekend on our way back from a hike. We just found them on yelp. Everett was doing a car show at the time so they were packed!! Lucky for us we were able to snag a booth in the bar. It was nice because they had a lunch menu going on. I got the steak fajitas and cheena man got a taco plate. Both came with rice and beans and fajitas came with all the sides like guac, pico and sour cream. This was great b/c we didn't want full dinner meals and for $10 my fajitas were a steal of a deal! Ok so the food is good but not blow your mind good. I was very happy with my lunch. I give them 5 stars b/c they had great service! For one, they happily turned the Mariners on for us (yes, cheena man is still a fan, even tho they're terrible lol) but they had a few very difficult/RUDE customers and they handled them all professionally. Two groups came in, had them move tables around and then both ended up either leaving or demanding to sit somewhere else. SUPER RUDE!!!! They were sooooo busy but just let it roll off their backs. This used to be my favorite restaurant and was so disappointed when we ate there tonight. The service was good, but the food has gone downhill. Ordered the chicken taquitos and they were fresh but the chicken was not the usual shredded chicken. It was chunky and tasted liked canned chicken. My husband ordered chicken mole enchiladas. They had the same chinky canned chicken and the mole was just warm and tasted liked the canned stuff you get at the market. I guess I'm looking for a new favorite Mexican restaurant. read more

The ambiance is adorable -- colorful, fun. However, the food left a lot to be desired. We were served quickly on an early evening. And, the staff were hospitable. But, the service was inattentive in other ways that mattered. And, the food left a lot to be desired. We were seated quickly, but the table wasn't super clean (even by pre-COVID standards). We got a side of chips and salsa gratis, but they chips tasted old (but salsa was decent with a nice kick). When our server asked about drinks, we made that order, and then they went on their way. Diving into the chips as we waited, we realized we had no napkins, so asked another server for that and got them. When our server returned, we ordered a burrito to share ($22 for a burrito mind you, so it better be shareable!). We soon got our burrito, but as our waiter walked away, we realized we had no utensils. So, we called another server over for that. Now, as much as I don't mind asking for every. little. thing., these are the basics. So, a star or two off for that. As for the food, well, let's just say that I could get a burrito in LA for $6 that tasted way better and was similar in size. This one tasted like what happens when you mix the entire Thanksgiving plate together -- all the ingredients were probably good but now you can't taste much of anything and so the plate is blah. It would have been great if the meat were seasoned well, if extra salsa or pico came with, if a few slices of limes graced the plate...
