I never write reviews but I just had to for the El Paso passport agency. Everyone there was so gracious and kind when I needed to get my passport expedited for my travels a couple of days later. I flew in from Austin for my 7:30 AM appointment and had my new passport in hand by 10:30 AM and was off in time to make a 12pm flight back to Austin. We are lucky we got an appt for 7:30a and drove 9hrs to get here coz we were desperate. Everyone who works here are amazing. We walked out of there with the passport by 11a. This team of great people helped me resolve a self-inflicted problem of letting my passport expire prior to a family vacation to Mexico. Didn't know I was capable of such an idiotic move, but I proved myself wrong. A very long story short....on a Saturday I was able to book an appointment for 7:30am on a Monday and by mid day (same day) I had a new passport. Flew out to Mexico the next morning. Hello! My husband applied for a passport on 1/18. On march 1 he received a letter saying he sent in the wrong birth certificate. He mailed in the birth certificate with the enclosed letter on March 1. We have no way of knowing if the passport office received his new birth certificate. We sent it to the El Paso office. Yesterday we contacted our congressman. They sent us an email back today saying that we needed to send in more information. It was the letter that we had received on March 1. This means they never received it. W have called the 877 number multiple times. The first 18 times I never got through to a person. A week ago I got through to a person after waiting on the phone for 1.5 hours. They could not give us any more information and said they couldn't even answer any questions until it was 14 days from our trip. I just need to know if the El Paso office received the correct birth certificate. Or if we need to request it again and mail it in again. We travel on June 25. We have spent a lot of money on this trip and felt like we were doing our due diligence by applying in January. Please could someone from the El Paso office message me? read more

Went a little early to the appointment. They had it done in 2 hours. Everyone was friendly, helpful and efficient. I am now in El Paso awaiting flight home. Tomorrow I will be headed to my cruise. We had to come to this place because the government got two of our passports back in time, but failed to do so for our daughter. Since we had an important trip approaching quickly, we were told by the folks in D.C. that our only option was to drive from Lubbock to El Paso to get the passport issued. We made the drive and arrived in plenty of time for our appointment. Office is downtown and we had to find parking and walk to the building. Office is on an upper floor. When you come in, you the. Have to go through airport type security to enter the office. Don't have anything like a pocket knife on you, or they'll send you out. Also make sure you have all the codes and paperwork or no entry. Once inside, you "check in" with an agent who then sends you to wait for another person to take your paperwork. We didn't have to wait a really long time, but be prepared to wait for a while. We were then called up to get all of the paperwork turned in. Lots of questions and checks of information, ur they get you done fairly quickly... at least this part. We were done turning everything in by about 11:00. We were told to go get some lunch and that if we had not heard back from them by 1:30 to come back and check in. We did, and when we asked if it was ready they acted like we were crazy. They told us they "should" have it done by closing time at 4:00, but there's a small chance it might be done before that. So we waited in a Starbucks in the building for the next few hours. Thankfully, we got a call about 3:45 that we could come back. They did get our passport done. Just wish the process was better explained and that the timing would have been better. But, it is a government office, so that's to be expected. read more

Very long story, but I didn't realize my passport was expired on the Sunday before our trip to Europe on Thursday. Obviously panic mode set in. I called most of the day Monday and couldn't secure an appointment. I called more on Tuesday and got an 800AM appointment for Wednesday. I arrived early and my whole experience was great. Everyone was so helpful and nice. I was done with my processing by 805 and had my passport in hand at 1115AM. Amazing job!!! read more

Agents were rude, disrespectful and completely unhelpful. Seemed like they had made up their mind as soon as I arrived to my appointment that they would not help me. I drove over 5 hours to El Paso only to be talked down on. While I completely understand there's not much they can do if they really can't process my application, assuming I can't speak/understand English and being condescending is not the way to go about it. read more

I'm not impressed by a letter the agency sent me concerning my applications for passport for my 3 minor children. Among the original documents I submitted with my applications was my US certificate of naturalization, but alas I received a letter requesting that I send certificate of Citizenship. I don't understand. I called the 2778 number, but no option to speak to someone. I sent email about my concerns and didn't get any response. Right now I don't know what to do. read more

Arrived at 0912 immediately greeted by Linda who was amazing! 1021 was our first encounter w/Isaac (also awesome) at window 3 & we were given a new application form to fill out & told to either fill it out there or have a seat at one of the tables to do so, but if we didn't mind it would be better to just to one of the tables so the next customer could come up & as soon as we were finished filling it out we could come back to the window. We chose to have a seat so other customers could be taken care of while we filled out forms because that is the courtesy given to us by the gentleman in front of us. 1103 we were back at window w/Isaac for re-review of paperwork & told in the interim Isaac got ahold of the Seattle office & we were good to go to move forward in the processing of our passport. We were then given a ticket w/R107 & told to go to either window 7 or 8 when our number is called. The time printed on our ticket is 1122. These windows had two gentleman at them when we were seated at 1122 & at about 1125 one window was closed. Soon thereafter, maybe 15-20 minutes the second window closed. 1211 went we to window 4 & had our unpleasant & less than informative encounter w/the older dark haired woman. 1232 we were called to window 7 & told everything was good to go & that we would get a call in about 2 hrs to come pick up the completed passport. We decided to go out to our car & take a nap. 1426 we returned to the office because we had not received a phone call & the office would be closing soon. We were placed back in very quickly moving line of people to be checked in at windows 1 & 2. Once at the window we were asked for the name & other information associated w/the application, looked up in system & then told to have a seat & wait for our name to be called in about 15 mins because passport was in the process of being printed at the moment. 1519 the office still had 17 people waiting to be serviced & windows 1, 2 & 9 were the only ones open & only windows 1 & 2 actually have people working at them helping customers. 1524 Window 4 opens up & our named is called by a woman w/wild reddish brown hair & glasses & another gentleman is called to the exact same time to that window as well. The other gentleman is told to go & wait at window 2. We were then handed a sealed white sealed envelope & told have a good day & when we asked if all the vital documents are placed inside the envelope the woman says "uh huh they should be. Have a great day!" W/a smile on her face she just walks away w/no further follow through or checking as she goes to window 2 to help the other man she called at the same time as calling us. We then open the envelope & see all vital documents are in fact present & at 1525 I finally have my passport in hand. *security team super friendly!!! read more

My family and I drove 9hrs to get my babies passport to take our first trip to Canada,I took everything they asked me, so we wouldn't have any issues. Getting to the point my dad was trying to renew his passport because he is going to another country on November and since he was there he wouldn't have to make another trip to El Paso. A employee (maybe the manager) got half way in the conversation of my dad and the employee renewing his passport saying the dates didn't match on the form for my kids, it triggered me due to the fact that she got in the conversation without even listening and started calling me a liar! She said that we weren't going to Canada and made a problem out of it, I honestly don't know what she was trying to do, but I hope with this experience she could first listen to both sides of the stories and then get in a conversation, if she is a manager, she shouldn't be on management. I'm a manager and I would have never disappoint a customer like this just because I didn't listen. read more

I was apprehensive about driving 6 hours to receive an expedited passport when we have an office in my home city. However, I will say the entire process was painless from making the appointment, confirmation of the appointment, and assuring that we were taken care of. Received a same day passport with an appointment. Flew in from Portland, Oregon because our closest passport office in Seattle had no appointments available. The only agencies accepting appointments were Buffalo and El Paso. My appointment was at 9am. I arrived the day before staying at the Gardner Hotel which is a 3 minute walk to the passport agency. Miguel was amazing. Friendly, professional and helpful. Cynthia followed up with the rest of my paperwork. I was told they would call when it was done. Just in case, I returned to wait in person at 2pm as they close at 3:00. My passport was ready at 2:10 and I made my flight back at 3:50. There is a Starbucks with wifi on the ground floor of the Mills building where the passport agency is located. I went there, got breakfast, and took the elevator up 5 minutes before my appointment. El Paso is a really lovely town with fantastic architecture in it's downtown. I spent my time there exploring the beautiful hotels (The Plaza, Paso Del Norte) the park and checking out the fun murals. Very friendly and efficient. I had a nightmare where I had planned a big trip and only about a week before my trip date did I notice my passport was actually expiring that day! I could not secure an appointment at my local agency, and the only agency that had availability was the El Paso agency. I was able to get an appointment a couple days before my trip date (it has to be 72 hours or less from your trip date), I made it for as early in the day as possible. They had noted they can't guarantee a same day passport to be fulfilled, but I did happen to get my fulfilled in the same day so I was able to salvage my trip. They are life savers! read more
