We are visiting Branson. Found them looking at restaurants near us. Very flavorful food and wonderful customer service. Our server was so pleasant and took care of anything we asked for. Food was served without much wait. We got the trio dip for a starter. Really enjoyed that. I got the chicken Verde enchiladas and husband got the Mexican burrito. This place is amazing, we first came in when they had just changed over and have loved watching the improvements to the restaurant. Came back in tonight and The salsa is delicious and fresh and the flautas were the best meal I've had in a while. My hubby had amazing enchiladas verde. Everything was so fresh and looked beautiful. Mediocre food, slow and inattentive service. This isn't our first choice in Branson/Hollister, but it is usually the closest. Today we came thru the doors at 8:30pm, we know they close at 9 and planned to be quick, as we only needed a to go order. The hostess stood talking to two other servers before finally looking at us and saying they were closed. Open sign still on. Sign on door says closes at 9pm. Ok, ok! I see you El Patio! Located in the heart of Hollister, in the same plaza as Country Mart, you will find this gem of a Mexican restaurant! The food was absolutely outstanding from the first chip to the last spec of rice! The salsa starts out with a very sweet taste and ends with a very small kick that fades very quickly. I had a menu item that came with steak, shrimp, chicken and bell peppers. The meat was tender and juicy with amazing flavor. The rice and beans didnt last long and the portion sizes were perfect from start to finish. The atmosphere was enhanced with upbeat hispanic music just loud enough to hear, but not loud enough to drown out conversations. Our waiter was well versed and very helpful with the menu. He was quick to check on us enough, but not too much. He took really good care of us leaving us wanting to come back. I've had a lot of Mexican food this was bland and I don't even know what they had for enchilada sauce but there was no flavor. We had chicken enchiladas and cheese enchiladas. The salsa tasted weird. The rice was okay but the refried beans we're ot good. We we're very disappointed. The service was okay but they only had 2 waiters and they were busy. We won't be going back there. This was my husband and my first time eating here. We arrived at 6 pm / Wednesday night. El Patio wasn't very busy so we were quickly seated. Our waiter immediately took our drink order and was very attentive to our needs throughout dinner. Chips and salsa are complimentary. The chips were fresh and salsa on the medium side of heat. I ordered a margarita and chicken chimichanga. My husband ordered the fajitas for one. My margarita was good. Definitely had alcohol in it (not a complaint). The food presentation was nice; however, it was very bland. The chicken in neither entree was seasoned making it not very appetizing or tasting like a Mexican dish. The refried beans were soupy. The portions were large enough for both of us to have lunch the next day. As for ambiance, the restaurant is in a strip mall and from what I read was recently renovated. First time checking out El Patio last night. Instantly we were impressed with the look of the restaurant knowing how it looked in the past. It was bright clean and had a really fresh feeling. Having a full bar is always a plus in my book, and their margaritas were awesome. My family of three all ordered apps, and different fishes and we all very happy. My wife is a vegetarian and they had a lot of options to accommodate her which is hard to come by in Branson. We will definitely be returning. read more

We've eaten here at least 10 times and thought it was pretty good. This is more of a warning. We had a bad day and decided to get a Margarita. The waiter asked if we'd like a small or large. I said small, thankfully. He went away and came back asking what type of Tequila we wanted, which has never happened to us. We're really not drinkers, so I said: We're not picky, whatever you have is fine. That was my first mistake. He brought a very small drink that was over ice, not blended. We hadn't even thought about asking for blended. Second mistake. It tasted really strong like it was straight tequila over ice. We didn't really like it, but didn't say anything. Then we got the bill. We were charged $5 for the Margarita and $8.50 for Don Julio Reposado!!?? $13.50 for a small Margarita?? Absolutely ridiculous. Update on my review from previous years. I have eaten here five or six times when I was in Hollister and it was great. Ate there yesterday and it was terrible. It looks like new owners. The menu is totally different and the food is definitely different. There was zero flavor to the chicken enchilada lunch plate that I ordered. One of my favorite things about this place has been their salsa. It also lacked flavor. Rice was dry, refried beans were served in a bowl and were cold inside. Nothing like the previous beans that they served. They were delicious. And, portions were smaller this time. The two stars were for clean place and fast friendly service. Ordered some taco dish and substituted corn tortillas. Feel apart and had to just eat insides of tacos which had tiny chunks of beef mostly filler. Rice bland except for the curry flavor and I'm assuming this contributes to the unnatural yellow color. Beans had no flavor even with the melted cheese on top. Chips were cold. Salsa blah I've had and made better. Finally when my food came I asked the waiter a second time for the hot sauce and he gave me a squirt bottle of it. It had a nice kicked and made the regular salsa edible. Margarita tasted like cheap sour mix BUT it was cold. Service was some of the worst I've had. He took the order, dropped the food and came back for the last time which is when I asked for the check. There was maybe ten other people in the restaurant that were mostly done & leaving. The food is good here; however, on our last two visits we were over charged. Pay attention to the menu and be sure to check your ticket before paying. About a month ago, we ate there and my tacos were listed at $9.99, but we were charged $11.50, and they would not change the price when they were shown the discrepancy from the menu to the ticket. We didn't return for some time, due to this incident. On our most recent visit, we ordered two different items and were over charged by $1.49 and $4 respectively. This time they took of $3.00 of the $5.49 in overcharges. I think this will be our last visit. read more

We have a lot of our lunch meetings here, seeing as it's just right around the corner from our office. We have had nothing but wonderful experiences with El Patio, our food is always at our table in a reasonable time (sometimes they're ridiculously fast, I don't know how they do it). They're friendly and very flexible to meal adjustments which we greatly appreciate since we have several workers with severe dietary restrictions. They have a wide variety and it tastes amazing, the only warning I would give is that a lot of their dishes are pretty spicy so just a heads up to those of you who can't handle your jalapenos (like me...).
