We visited Tequila's on 07-02-2026 about 5:20 pm. This was our fourth visit this year and, sadly, it will probably be our last. The first two times were relatively good but the last two have not been good at all. On this day, we had eaten a big lunch earlier and ended up very glad that we had as we would have otherwise been hungry after this visit. Our server was Jhon V (based on the receipt) and we ordered the Fajitas Tequilas for 2. I also ordered a Diet Coke. We have ordered the Fajitas Tequilas for 2 a few times the last few years so had been familiar with it. Very disappointingly, the supposed presentation was barely an inch tall on the platter (normally 2-plus inches). This $32.99 platter has chicken, beef, chorizo, and shrimp. To provide an example, the last few times this dish has had 6-8 shrimp whereas this day it had 4. I am an analyst so am used to, well, analyzing things. Our platter this day had 4, three inch x 1/8 inch pieces of beef; plus 6, three inch x 1/8 inch pieces of chicken; a tablespoon of chorizo; plus the aforementioned 4 shrimp. There were a lot of onions on the platter so maybe they have decided the quantity of onions can substitute for the meats. Even my wife, who is not a big meat eater, was disappointed, and hungry afterward. Not a good value at all for the price, and barely enough for a single serving. We noticed several other customers complaining about their meals so maybe they were having similar issues. They also have apparently done away with refills on cups and salsa. We received our first bowl of chips and salsa, but never received anymore, even after asking. The server said he was busy, but apparently too busy to care for the customers? The same issue happened wth the soft drink. I was only able to get a refill on it when asking another server passing by (we have had him before and was excellent) and he got one quickly and with a smile. He is the one who should have received the tip. A change regarding the restaurant for those who may not have been for awhile, or yet. There were handwritten signs on the door (the signs were not there a couple months ago when we last visited) saying that credit cards would be charged a 3% fee for use. It is nice they had it posted on the door as some people do not carry much cash around. The receipt said it would be 3% plus sales tax on the 3%, so that was interesting. Our total bill including tax, paying by cash, was $39.35. With credit card it would have been just at $40.76 We did notice the restaurant was not as busy as usual but not sure if it was due to the situation as we endured, but the actions and reactions of several other tables of people was telling. Many were very unhappy - verbally and economically - making sure others around knew they were not leaving a tip, would not be coming back, and other various comments. That was not a good thing but we understood the thoughts. We are more calm, patient, than some but we did leave a tip but will not be returning. My wife was still hungry, so was I, so we went to the W burger place, she got her grilled chicken sandwich which had more meat itself than all of the meats combined on our Fajitas Tequilas for 2, plus it had 4 slices of tomato, a lot of lettuce, 4 pickles, and grilled onions. Similar for me with the W burger, it had more meat than all of the meats on our Tequila's meal, plus all the veggies. This is provided mainly to provide hopefully a better visual for some who may not want to calculate. So, hopefully anyone visiting has a better experience. We had hoped ours would be as it is most of our visits. But the last two times have done it for us, at least for the foreseeable future. read more

Everything was great!! Our service was really good all the way through our visit. The restaurant itself was roomy and brightly lit with tv's to watch sports if that's your thing, but they don't ruin the feel of the place which is lively and fun. I even appreciated the room to sit while we had a short wait to be seated. The best thing was the food!! Everything my wife and I had was incredibly good. We had the salsa and chips, queso, spicy salsa, fajita quesadilla, and the choripollo. Every single bit of it was fresh and super flavorful. We have been going here every time we go to Branson. We like it because they super-size their drinks and we can hear our friends to have a conversation. The food is okay and the typical Mexican food. They spent so much money on the building that the food quality is pretty bad. I got the spinach enchiladas and they weren't warm, the tortillas were stiff and the spinach filling tasted like it was out of a can and sweet like! It was the worst Ive ever tasted. Ok... so this round we actually stayed for dinner.. Ps.. they moved to 4845 Gretna Rd. So if you drive to the old one and notice it is closed just drive around the corner! This round I got the enchiladas rancheros and man was it good. The cheese enchilada does not upset and you put some more pork on top and red sauce... very good and tasty! Neat place a bit hard to find especially at night as their sign is not lit up. We were greeted quickly and waiter attended quickly Started with queso dip and guacamole dip. After reading reviews and rating we decided to try this place out. The service was good and our waiter was great. The few things that should be corrected are that the prices for most of the food are whited out and I asked they said they are still serving the items but couldn't tell me the price because they are making changes to the menu. I ordered the T-bone and shrimp and was brought out shirt steak. The meat was good and had good flavor so I didn't complain, but when you are expecting a T-bone there is a big difference. So good! To start, their chips and salsa were some of the best. Both were super fresh and tasty. We got queso as well and that was the only part that fell short. It was about the consistency of water and very hard to get onto chips but the flavor was really good so I wouldn't take any stars away. I would just get the small bowl next time instead of the large one. I had the steak street tacos that were off the menu and they were delicious. Not the best I've had but good and by far the beat value I have seen. My husband got the chicken chimichanga a-la-cart and it was super crispy and had great flavor. I would consider getting that myself next time. Their menu is very extensive and I'm sure that everything is delicious considering the quality and freshness of the food we had (minus the queso). Ok so I really wanted to dock .5 a point down because the service was not really up to par. So let's start there. However, the food was good. I mean I wouldn't say it's the most amazing Mexican food I've ever had. It's like any other typical Mexican restaurant in my opinion. We came in a group and we got chimichangas and shrimp tacos. They were good and everyone liked their food. They seemed busy, so I don't wanna give them 3/5 because maybe they were having an off day and were short on staff? A couple of things they could've done better during our visit: - ask for refills on chips and salsa, they only gave us one small salsa container for the 4 of us. - my boyfriend asked for no beans and to substitute it with extra rice- but they put beans on his plate... and then some... all over the bottom of his food platter (he despises beans with a passion so he was not a happy camper, I mean who would be if they hated something that much ) - they forgot our guac. (They did however give it to us free of charge since they forgot) But hey, these were small petty things. I would still come back if I'm in Branson and wanting some Mexican food. Food was still good to me, so was their salsa. *shrugs I also want to note that all staff were wearing masks and all the guests who came in were wearing masks when I went. We had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The service was extremely quick, our meals were delicious, and we received the check right when we asked. I had cheese steak tacos, with a mix of chicken and steak on the recommendation of the server. He didn't steer me wrong. They were fantastic. And I was full after 2 of the 3 that came with the order. My S.O. had the egg and chorizo burrito. It was so yummy! The burrito was huge and also came with rice and beans. The chorizo was cooked to perfection and spicy enough to be enjoyable but not overwhelming. We would definitely come back here if we were in Branson again. read more

EXCELLENT quality Mexican food! Made some of our mainstays in SOCAL not as great. What a pleasure to come all the way out to MO and find Mexican food this good. The outside of the restaurant looked nice and there were a lot of cars in the parking lot and people waiting to be seated, so I thought it must be great. Not so much. The salsa tasted like ketchup with no spices or heat. I ordered the combo fajitas. They also had no flavor and were tough. Barely had any grilled onions and peppers with it. Just lots of bland meat with tomatoes. The refried beans and rice did have a good flavor. My son ordered the Enchiladas Suprema. The chicken one was so dry he couldn't eat it. I think this restaurant may qualify for the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. The beans were not seasoned at all. The tea was old. I ordered a chalupa and it was only a raw corn tortilla with beans dumped on it, a few sprigs of lettuce, and a large glop of sour cream. The guacamole was almost inedible (no salt, garlic, or lemon) I was wondering if their cook deserted them or something. I have rarely written a bad review, but this was NOT good.
