We had just relocated from California to Branson. Looking for some decent Mexican food. This restaurant wasn't too from where we are staying. Got there about 3pm, not too busy at the time. Service was great, food was superb and arrived very quickly. As for ourselves we liked the chips and salsa. Chips were warm when they first arrived, which was within seconds of sitting down, and the salsa had a nice flavor without being too spicy. Restaurant itself was nicely decorated. Only negative would be that the restrooms weren't as nice as the restaurant itself. An upgrade there would enhance the overall experience. read more

It was just OK. Definitely fell short of its 4 star rating. I was disappointed they wouldn't make a Chile Colorado burrito despite having Chile Colorado on the menu. The fajita burrito was just OK. The carne asada fries did look really good although I didn't try them. Salsa was just OK. read more

This place is amazing!!! Great FAST food and excellent service. Well priced! We stopped in for taco Tuesday and tore it up. Even the 2 years old threw down on some queso like shoveling 2 hand falls of cheese and chips in at a time. No joke the fastest order to food on the table I've ever seen. We did not all have just tacos. So they grilled steak, made french fries, probably a dozen tacos mixed between beef and chicken, brought queso and guacamole plus a round of margs and kid drinks. All within 10 mins of sitting down. Unreal!!! All delicious and we will be back when in town. Actually, I liked the house marg better than the top shelf, but my wife's strawberry frozen marg was a game changer!!!! We will all order that next time. read more

We stopped here with family from Florida on our way home from a day on the lake. The service was professional and efficient, the waiter very helpful and friendly, answered all our questions. Negatives: widely advertised restaurant with billboards everywhere around Branson. Good things: huge parking lot. Very large restaurant. Only a five minute wait when 10 of us showed up to have dinner without a reservation. These guys are used to big groups. The food was better than expected as I don't think Missouri is a hotbed for Mexican food. Service was pretty good, considering our very diverse group of 10 and how busy the place was with 90% of the tables occupied, often with large groups like ours. This is a reasonable choice if your family gets a craving for Mexican food. read more

I'm pretty sure this is the best restaurant in the Branson area. It's certainly the best Mexican restaurant. There's an extensive menu of both authentic Mexican and Tex Mex food. The margaritas are great. The nachos and guacamole are great. And the service and kitchen are lightning fast, even during rush times. I'm originally from Southern California, so my expectations for Mexican food are pretty high, and this far surpassed what I was expecting to find in Branson. Well done! read more

I am not sure how anyone can give this place more than 1 star. This was my 3rd time to visit and once again the food was horrible. Let's start with the chips and salsa. There is absolutely no flavor in the salsa. Beef and chicken fajitas were hardly edible. I'm not even sure what kind of beef they are serving. The icing on the proverbial cake was the bill where they attempted to charge me for fajitas for two instead of one. Bottom Line - bad food and questionable billing practices. Pros - Service was excellent on a Friday night at 7pm (9/23/22) and we had no wait; they refilled my water every time it was half empty - Chips were freshly made, warm, and thin (but not too thin) - White queso is YUMMY! - Chicken fajitas for two was really a serving for four! Ate here about a week ago with my kids. We came in just 30 minutes before close and were concerned that we were so late... we didn't realize closing time was earlier. Our server wasn't worried about it at all! We ordered queso, Taquitos Mexicanos, Pollo con arroz and a couple of to-go dinners. Our food was out very quickly after order and it tasted AMAZING! Probably one of the largest restaurants in the Branson area, which makes it a good bet to get a table quickly, even during the main mealtime rush hours. We have eaten at El Lago many times over the last few years. It has been one of our must go-to restaurants in the Table Rock Lake area. Until tonight! To start off, the chips were badly burnt. The restaurant was so noisy that we couldn't talk to each other. The temperature in the restaurant was at least 85 - 90 degrees. There were 7 in our party and none of us could eat because of the heat. We asked our server if he could turn up the ceiling fan above us. He said, "No." We all decided that next year we will find a new Mexican restaurant when we come to Table Rock. read more

Went for a visit for the first time. I wasn't blown away, but our table wasn't very adventurous. Tacos, both crunchy and soft, enchiladas, Chimichangas. The food wasn't bad but it seemed a little bland. The beef taco meat for the crunchy tacos was not seasoned, the steak for the soft tacos was alright, the same quality of the enchiladas fillings and Chimichanga. The restaurant was very busy (Sunday 6pm) but the staff was quick on their feet and the kitchen seemed to be pushing out orders as quick as they came in. Our wait for food was good, considering. in town visiting for the week; asked the desk lady at the hotel for dinner recommendations; she suggested El Lago if we enjoyed Mexican. We arrived and we're promptly seated around 7:30pm on a Sunday; the staff were all very friendly and checking up on us (even workers that were not OUR waiter), there must have been 5/6 different employees that walked by the table. I ordered the Yucatán burrito and a Cadillac margarita...both were phenomenal and were delivered to the table within :10 min's (the burrito was more than half the size of the plate). Our server was very nice and the place is clean, but my food had zero flavor. The Cazuela 1 is like a sort of breakfast skillet with chunks of pork plus jalapeños and beans, but there was seemingly no seasoning on anything. The salsa they bring also just tastes like tomatoes. The food at El Lago is always very good and tasty. I had their fajitas and the others had a taco salad, fish tacos, beef fajitas and fajitas suiza. They forgot to bring out the tortillas for the fajitas. They are moving so fast to get your food out they forgot to bring out one of the dishes. My wife's dishes was bubbling hot and the waiter was wearing a hand mitt then proceeds to hand my wife the dish as opposed to placing it directly on the table which she almost dropped due to the heat.
