I was really looking forward to trying this place, so my son and I ordered in. I got two chicken…read moresandwiches with fries and an order of onion rings and fried pickles. The fries were the best part of the whole meal. I was horribly disappointed with everything else. The chicken sandwich had one strip on it , leaving flanks of bun on either side, a total waste. I was reluctant to spend $6.50 for a second strip not knowing what I was going to be getting because that seemed like a large up charge for one chicken strip. The coleslaw was the most flavorful part of the sandwich, but there was very little there anyway. The chicken came apart in shreds and felt like it was fibrous and almost squeaky. Very strange texture for chicken. The brioche bun overtook the flavor of the whole sandwich. I was excited for the onion rings cause they are a good size, but there was hardly any onion left and the breading was really thick. Then the pickles, which are one of my favorite things to try. They could have been really good but they were so salty they were inedible and when I pulled them out of the box they were in a pool of oil. Unfortunately it wasn't worth the money I spent. The second star was for the battered fries, which were really good. But I won't bother going back, I should've just gotten chick fil a.

As one of the true gems of the Katy (#1), Medallo has become one of late night haunts when looking…read morefor a good meal and friendly faces. Specializing in Colombian comfort food, this truck reminds me of the late night Colombian joints that were open in the northern part of Queens (#2). The truck is perma-fixed in this space. They have a whole set of tables for large groups and includes a dedicated covered area. Parking can get tricky if there are enough people visiting, but I'd recommend the next lot over where there is no night time monitoring. The menu is incredibly simple and just know that prices are not listed (#3) . The choices are basically a beef / chicken / chorizo burger, along with the occasional hot dog and a number of smoothies and drinks. I think their beef burger (patty de res) and the chorizo (patty de chorizo) are the best I've had so far. It will cost at least $15 for the sandwich and fries are not included. It sounds expensive but at the very least the burger will come loaded. It'll be a messy, delicious encounter. Pair it with their maracuyá (passion fruit) juice and it'll be a wonderful meal. The man running the truck is one of the nicest owners I've met. He's patient, courteous, and takes the time to interact with everyone who comes through. I can't attest to their English skills, but I wouldn't hesitate for a second in recommending this place for some quality late night food. _________ (#1) Yes, the address says Houston. But let's get real, this is Katy. (#2) The most delicious borough. No big deal. (#3) I've seen this in Houston more than anywhere else. Why?
