Let's start with the service as a first time customer. They started off attentive and kind. Waiting for food its a pretty nice location. We got a basic taco salad and sopapillas order, with chips and salsa Togo. Got to the vehicle and checked the order. Salad looks good. Chips and salsa; a small helping, but they look good. Then we open up the sopapillas. There's the three sopapillas but then added items that weren't on the menu; assumed chocolate sauce, sprinkles and whipped cream. The menu says a tortilla that's deep fried topped with honey, butter and cinnamon. So it should be that simple. But with a dye allergy and staying away from certain things it was a bad surprise. So I went back in and asked/complained and told to wait for the manager or chef not sure who he was to get off his cell phone call. He came over and said that's how it comes. If I said to put the items on the side then they would've done that but since I didn't ask it was pointed as my fault. Then I asked if they can fix it and they said no. I left mad. My husband went back in. They talked it over, same guy that helped me; finally agreed they will fix it this one time but next time we need to ask. ( How do you ask about extra ingredients that aren't even on the menu? ) The food was decent eating it. We 100% would've been back for a dinner party in a couple weeks if their service was better. But we're going to take our time and money elsewhere, especially becauseof food allergies. I hope their attitudes get better in the future and they learn their menu instead of making the PAYING customer mad. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. So to end this review. I am sure there is better places to eat. Go to them. Go somewhere where they care you are spending your money, even if it's just for a $5 item or making it yourself and don't treat you like they are doing you the favor. Came in this past weekend for dinner. We were seated and greeted by a woman who also took our appetizer order. She came back and asked if we were ready for entrees. We needed a minute. A few minutes later a guy comes up and asks if we want to order any food... I'm not sure if it was a miscommunication or she took a table out of turn or something. While my husband was stationed in LA during his time in the military our GO TO restaurant was here. Not only were they one of the only restaurant that had our Latin culture with the language as well but they were one of the best restaurants in the whole leesville. My first time I ordered the ribeye which was a 7/10 along with a frozen margarita which as you can see by the picture was SO GOOD I'd always order their margaritas. I've tasted their basic, mango, peach and strawberry margaritas and all by far have been the best I've ever had anywhere. They're deserts were personally not good for me but they steak with melted cheese that comes with a side of beans salad and yellow rice now that! Is a meal! My father ordered enchiladas they came out soggy and our Fajitas meat was supper hard barely touch our food. After the horrible dinner options we went to pay it was $98 and some change they claimed the card machine wasn't working and they were having trouble with the cards so my husband,father,and sister tried to run there card none of which were "working" resorting in having to use cash. So this restaurant really was a rollercoaster. Having just moved here from El Paso we didn't have high hopes for good Mexican style food but this place had a lot of recommendations. They started off strong with their outstanding appetizer sampler and pretty good chips. The sampler had some of the best tasting Mexican American food I've ever had and it really set expectations high for the main meal. Here is where the problem lies. How do you make all this great food and then have bland rice and beans? When I took a bite of their signature burrito I was hit with a salt bomb bite of chicken. El Patio on Alexandria Hwy was a perfect family dinner meal. The Street tacos with steak was delicious, slow cooked and juicy. Traditional style with corn tortillas, cilantro, onions, and limes. They have multiple seating areas both inside and outside for large groups too. They sang happy birthday to a party across from us, we watched International Soccer on the TV. The food is Incredibly Good! Fun atmosphere!!!!! Though It does vary slightly on who's cooking! Usually not in a bad way! Day shift often differs from night shift! The regular guacamole is always good. But it seems to be of different variations! Sometimes it has heat, or even sour cream, and other times it's just perfect! We had ordered steak in red chili, Carne Asada, or Chili Colorado as it reads on the menu, but got steak mothered in tomato juice, "Clamato!" they told me after they had served it. When I questioned the entrée they stated that they had to change the entire recipe because many people were not used to the taste of real red chili! (Knowing what's in Clamato, Good Thing I don't have a Shell Fish allergy!) ..........Total disappointment!!!! ..........Tell people what they're getting! Please don't just change any recipe! I suggest you allow it to be ordered special, as it is always prepared with Red Chilies. Sometimes made with Mole, a combination of Chilies. People come in for certain things! Continuity is important and consistency keeps people coming back! Cut back on heat, but not the flavor! Many of my coworkers suggested El Patio if I ever wanted Mexican food. My family decided to go on a Sunday night. We were greeted at the door and got sitter immediately. Well it is unusual for a restaurant to get it right the first time... Of course this is not El Patio's first restaurant, so they should have an opening down. Food was great. Tried this place for the first time tonight. The tamales have a decent amount of meat without overshadowing the masa. My quesadilla was really good and had excellent flavor.
