This has become my sons favorite restaurant. When my husband was stationed at Polk, we would go to Thad a petch and loved it so much! We introduced it to our son later and now it's his favorite place. My husband always gets the Pad Thai. We have tried Pad Thai at many many other restaurants and this one is our favorite. The food is seasoned based on spice level you like. I love mine Hot and they do such a good job! Today I tried the Tom Yum soup and the red curry. I drive by this place daily on my way to work but never stopped by because it looks a little beat up from the outside but after reading all the positive reviews on Yelp and hearing all the raves about this place from local people around town I knew I had to check this place out and I'm so glad I did. This is a family run husband and wife team and their kids also help out as well. It's outdated on the inside but the food is very good and the owners are friendly. My fiancé and I ordered the vegetarian curry puffs and the vegetarian eggrolls as apps. Eggrolls were meh, not impressive a little bland but the curry puffs were flavorful and had a nice kick to it. For entrees he ordered the seafood pad Thai and I had the yellow curry with tofu. We both enjoyed our meals. Both entrees were flavorful with a good kick and portion sizes were big. There are not many places with vegetarian options in leesville and tha da petch has plenty of them. There's something here for everyone whether you're a meat lover, seafood lover, vegetarian. My uncle and I were in town, we have family here, and wanted to check this spot out. Leesville doesn't have a ton of restaurant options and the ones they do have are ehhh. I've only really eaten at Starlite Grill and I love that place; but we wanted to venture out this visit. This place is in the strip as a motel. When you walk in; it's like any other family owned Asian restaurant. The man who waited on us I assume owns the place. He was very friendly and attentive. This place has a huge party room in the back where the bathrooms are. I hope they get busy for events. The menu is very large, and being the only Thai restaurant in the area I like that they have lots to offer. The beef jerky was good, tad salty than I normally like it, but still good. The seafood salad I ordered was okay. Huge size, decent amount of seafood, but the sauce wasn't giving me normal Thai vibes when it came to flavor. It was giving me more like Mexican shrimp cocktail sauce vibes. Very tomato/ketchup taste than the normal Thai flavors I'm used to. I ordered the number 48. PAD PED TA-LAY, it's a seafood combination stir fry. It was delicious! I got the salad and this dish Thai hot and well this one was the only one that delivered the heat. The flavors were amazing and it just made my belly happy! We also ordered the Thai Teas which were good, but a tad over sugared if that's possible. Thurs. 7-28-2022 My husband and I decided to have lunch at this restaurant because of the good reviews. We ordered the Shrimp in a Blanket appetizer. I ordered Pad Thai with beef, chicken and pork. My husband ordered pork See Wu. All three of our orders were very well made and so good. We also ordered iced tea and lemonade. As we were getting ready to leave we asked if we could each have a to go cup of our drinks. The young man said we would have to pay another $2.75 for each of our to go drinks. We had just spent a little more than $65.00 for an appetizer, 2 entrees, 2 drinks, tax and a $10.00 tip for lunch. I had high hopes for this place. I ordered the green curry with chicken and medium heat. I was extremely disappointed. I paid $14.95 for this curry that doesn't even come with rice. The flavor was all off, it definitely had heat, which I appreciate but that was it. It was hot and salty, there was hardly any coconut milk flavor and it wasn't creamy like other curries are. I ordered this to go and made white rice at home since it's cheaper than paying $2 extra for a small thing of rice. I also ended up picking out the chicken because it was absolutely horrible. I have never been one for Thai food until I had a taste of the multiple entrees from this restaurant. From crispy sweet duck to green curry this place will satisfy all your cravings and make your stomach very happy. Staff is on point and friendly, always attentive and refills are very quick. Wait time for your entree or entrees are minimal and food will leave you ready for more. If you haven't tried this place, you ought to. Great food and good service....what more could you ask for? My husband and I stopped to dine here based on the help reviews and it did not disappoint! My husband said the Thai tea was one of his top three and was very happy to report that it was not too sweet. We asked the owner what he recommended for beef and duck options since we had never been there before and his recommendations were on point! I got the #21 with beef and my husband got the #54. Both dishes were fantastic and my husband is still raving about the duck as we drive back to our hotel. The duck was perfectly cooked - crispy, yet succulent and full of flavor. He gave it a 9.5/10, which is the highest he's ever given a duck dish. My #21 (beef with cashew nuts) was also a home run. This small hole in the wall restaurant beats out any Thai restaurant we've been to in Houston. We would gladly eat here again! read more
