Decent Mexican food for a small town. My husband liked the beans and said the rice was pretty good. He liked the cheese enchilada which was covered in red sauce and loads of melted shredded cheese! I got the Coctail de Camarones, mini size. Pretty good, wish the shrimp had been chilled. Since I was pretty sure the chips had been fried in the same oil as flour products, I asked for some heated up corn tortillas and they were most accommodating making sure it wasn't in contact with flour, which I appreciated. Didn't catch our servers name but he had red hair, and did a fine job to get us on our way!

Taco, spinach enchilada and big cheese burrito.

Fresh salsa! Fresh tortilla chips! SO good. Cute little restaurant with a long enough menu that everyone can find something they like. If we are in Elk City again, we will be back to Pedro's.

Are you visiting Elk City, Oklahoma, but you long for a visit to Mexico, or you're in the mood for and delicious, authentic Mexican dinner? You're in luck, as you don't have to travel to Mexico, and in Elk City, all you have to do it take a short drive down historic Route 66 to Pedro's Mexican Grill, and you have both your Mexican, and Route 66 bases covered. Pedro's Mexican Grill is very large... almost HUGE, which surprised me for a small 20,000 population town like Elk City. There are three dining rooms. When you enter the restaurant, you'll be greeted by a friendly greeter, who will greet and seat you. Normally when I dine solo, I sit at the bar, but tonight, I was seated in the small dining room. Photo shows the meeter/greeter as she's waiting to seat other customers. On this early Wednesday evening, this fine restaurant was a busy place. Pedro's Mexican Grill serves delicious Mexican cuisine. If you close your eyes, and you take a bite, you'd almost think you were in Piedras Negras or Cd. Acuna; the food is that good. The service is super-friendly, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is priceless. You may not think of Elk City, and Oklahoma when you think about Mexican food, but think again, and think: Pedro's Mexican Grill, located in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Excellent food and atmosphere. One of the best Mexican resturants. Come here every time I'm on town.

Based on the menu (burgers, pizza, and the like) and the restaurant's ambiance, we were expecting fast food. However, our selections were cooked fresh-to-order (which took a bit long to arrive) and were a cut above typical fast food. I ordered a mushroom-and-Swiss burger with all the fixings and deep-fried cheese curls (mostly to find out what they are!), while my husband got a pulled pork sandwich and fries. Both meals were very tasty. We REALLY also wanted some of their creamy frozen custard but we were too full. Not to worry, we got it to go & put it in our RV's mini-freezer. This was truly a special treat for us later on. Excellent Butter Pecan! We didn't have any kids with us but they had adorable car-shaped containers for their kid's meals. We also appreciated the friendly locals who were very friendly with us. Breaking weather warnings were on the screen of the television in the restaurant -- but we had no clue where the affected areas were in relation to where we were in Elk City. They reassured us that we were out of the danger zone for tornadoes but that we might experience high winds. For any Harvest Host RVers out there, 66 ToGo is a participating host. The sites are level and plentiful, and the host was quick to confirm our reservation.

I'm not a huge burger fan, but smashburgers are a whole 'nother story. For those that need to be gluten free, I spoke with the two men running the food truck about their gluten free options. The owner let us know that they use a different spatula and clean the grill every time to prevent cross contamination. The gf bread is special ordered. It's not a bun, but I preferred it this way (buns are too bready and thick). It's more like a patty melt . The bread was good! The whole thing together was AMAZING. The patty was perfectly seasoned and every piece was made with love. You can tell that there's a lot of heart in these burgers and that the owner has a passion to feed others good food. The worker we talked with the most was from the Midwest, like us! He understood second hand how important cross contamination was to someone with celiac or gluten intolerance. He was very cool and it was awesome to hear his story. It was so good to talk with them and it made me feel safe knowing the amount of care they took in preventing cross contamination. The burger we both got was the patty with cheese, grilled onions and pickle. All of the burgers come with the sidewinder fries. They were kind of like a wedge. Loved them. They had another option that also sounded awesome. It has pepper jack cheese, jalapeños and something else I'm missing. If we're ever through there again, we're definitely stopping. I can't wait to see how well they do. They definitely deserve any positive attention and a ton of support. They're both such good people and they make one hell of a burger! Good luck to you both and thank you-- we both appreciate you!
