Wow!! Was craving a Cuban sandwich, and this place popped up a few miles down the road: authentic, family-owned Puerto Rican sandwiches, pastries, and juice. Family-owned, very clean, with plenty of colorful decor. I felt right at home sharing this meal and chatting with the staff. We ordered 2 Cubans, the small size, 2 empanadas, beef and chicken, with fried plantains and a Tamarindo and Guava juice, followed by their homemade flan. The Cubans and empanadas were very flavorful. That pork was delicious, and the bread toasted nicely to crunch a tad. You know it's good when you gotta clean the mustard and pork juice out of your beard afterwards. The empanadas were fairly big, with a perfectly seared, crusty masa, so tasty. Plantains were big and crunchy, which we broke into half and savored every bite. We washed it all down with the homemade Tamarindo and Guava. The flan fell flat for us but didn't take away from the experience of the meal and flavors. Very rare to find a Cuban this good so close to home. read more

This has been a recent go-to for my husband and I when I'm missing a Puerto Rican style breakfast. We order the ham, egg, and cheese sandwich for breakfast. I love that they have two size options for it just depending how hungry you are! The true reason I come here is for the harina de maíz. SO good. I pair this was a malta India that they also sell. I plan to return to try their lunch options but have been putting it off due to a slightly high price point for the plates. The workers there are nice and patient! One of the times I wanted the avena (oatmeal) it was but ready, which was a bummer. But halfway through my meal, it was finally ready and the worker offered me a small sample bowl of it so I could try it!! I had saved this place to check it out cuz I needed to know if their sandwiches compared to the sandwiches in Puerto Rico. First of all, when you go in and look at the menu, you know that this place is 100% legit since the menu it's written in Spanglish (LOL). I think the owner was the man that was at the register, he was very nice and helpful. I knew that I wanted a Tripleta so I ordered a large one and my husband ordered the large Cubano. We split both sandwiches so we could try both, they were both "riquisimos" but the Tripleta was my favorite. They had jugo de parcha so I had to ordered one, I would had ordered a Medalla if they weren't out. If you don't know how delicious Puerto Rican sandwiches are, you're missing out! This was highly recomended by a Puerto Rican friend who had the chance to go with me! I had the opportunity to try a classic sandwich called the small Tripleta which had the following: pork, ham, turkey, potato stix, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayoketchup for $10.99. This was a hot sandwich and a large one at that for the small. Everything about this sandwich was so good, it was evenly layered and the three meats work well together and the cheese was a white cheese but it's definitely imported so it was different but melted so good. I would suggest dining in to truly appreciate your first try! I got the chance, to try their avena- hanna/maize $4.99 which is their take on oatmeal. It's Vanilla based and had a sprinkle of Cimminon. I loved this so much I bought the Quaker version to take home. They had a small storefront available with goodies from Puerto Rico which I also indulged in by taking some cookies as well. This was a nice touch for those who want a reminder of home flavors. I also got to try their take on a savory empenada, pizza flavored. Let me just say I'd take this over a hot pocket any day. Lastly on my way out I ordered a passion fruit juice for the road, very refreshing and the perfect way to end my meal. Their hours are short in the evenings so the timing just never seemed to align but we finally went for lunch today and we were not disappointed!! These sandwiches are great, and the bread is excellent. I love that the pork and chicken aren't just sliced thin like an afterthought, the pieces are hearty. The quesito (croissant with cream cheese, sugar glaze poured over top) is delicious. I normally hate cream cheese baked, but these are great and the simple sugar glaze they add right before they give it to you makes it special. I was looking for a sandwich shop that was open at 9am in the morning and was lucky to find this jewel. They're open at 8am everyday!!! When the cashier discovered that we were first timers, she was excited to recommend a limited time and new dish- Ham, brown rice with beans and cassava, with a side salad.
