On the road traveling and looking for authentic Tacos for breakfast (I.e. before 10am), and this fit the criteria. El Pikante is located across from the Framingham MBTA and part of a very large, well stocked Mexican mart. The food was made fresh to order. Also everything was delicious. We ordered a beef and pork burrito, fried chicken and chorizo taco. helpful to order in Spanish if you want substitutions. Best burrito I have had since 1995. The meat was crisped up on the grill, nice spice and very flavorful. The burrito wrapper also tasted homemade. It did not taste like it was it was out of a package and warmed up. Wonderful stop and worth the drive/ traffic!

Central Food Market, is one of those hard to find places that serves authentic Latin American food. This market has everything from hot food made daily to frozen food, from different Central American countries. All is very yummy, I've tried the pupupas mixtas and the plantano con frijol (fried banana with black beans) and have loved them both. They breakfast burritos in the morning and tacos for lunch. The only down side to this place is that it's a first-come-first-serve kind of take out, stuff tends to run out towards the end of the day and they don't make more until the next day. Being Guatemalan I love tor-trix, it's the national snack of Guatemala, and to my surprise they had snack size bags of lemon flavored tor-trix here!

I ordered a quesadilla and when I was eating I noticed something weird. I looked closer and it was a cockroach.

Had the asada quesadillas, it was phenomenal my only complaint is their delivery menu is in spanish. Totally worth the effort to translate.

The place was not busy and the staff was in the kitchen. It did take a while for someone to come out as I was looking over the menu offerings and I decided to eat here and took a seat at a table. I placed my order for the Empanadas Trio ($9 plus tax) and the Spaghetti with House Cream Sauce ($14 plus tax) and chicken (add $2). I was brought over some cold water and complementary plate of homemade fried crisp tortilla chips and fresh tomato salsa. The Empanadas Trio came out first, very hot, 3 good sized deep fried empanadas, 1 filled with cheese, 1 filled with shredded chicken & cheese, and 1 filled with ground beef. The shell was light and crisp and ketchup and tangy orange dipping sauces were provided. I would say their empanadas are some of the best I've had in the area! Next, the Spaghetti entree came out, a modest portion served in a bowl. The spaghetti was cooked soft with a light cream sauce not too rich and pieces of boneless pulled chicken, some pieces were chewy. After I was finished, I requested the check, but the total was initially incorrect since they charged me an additional $6 for shrimp instead of $2 for chicken. I saw the staff try to fix my check on the computer, but there was no pollo chicken option. I already knew the total with tax should be $26 and change and I paid cash with tip rounded up. Overall, I pretty good meal here and I would definitely order the empanadas again and try some other things next time. They also have a tres leches cake too.

Wandered in here one Saturday afternoon and tried a steak taco…read more The service here was not terribly great, but it was an odd time of day and there was only one waitress. Seems like a place with steady regulars. There is a digital jukebox in the corner that was used every so often. Although I only ordered 1 taco, looking at the weekday specials and prices, it seems like a great place for cheap alcohol and food. I was really unsure how the quality of food was going to be so I decided to get one taco. Initially ordered the chorizo but was told they were all out so switched to steak. The steak is cut into little chunks which helps to disguise it's tough texture. However, the actual taste of the beef is okay insomuch as I could actually taste it, which is more than I can say for some other restaurants. The beef also had a nice browned outside, adding a hint complexity along with some grilled onions. I doubt the tortilla is made from scratch, but it was soft and appealing. In addition I was provided with a cilantro sauce as a condiment. It added a good note of complexity along with a squeeze of lime. Some hot sauce in combination with the cilantro sauce could be addicting. Pleasantly surprised by the steak taco. No frills, but decent enough and at a very affordable price point. I would return to try other items on the menu.

I have tried and tried to find fish tacos that were not dry and offered strong flavor. Good news, I found them! Their fish tacos come with a delicious grilled filet that is flavorful and juicy (if fish can be juicy). The grilled onions are a perfect match (to all their tacos actually), and I was so happy I ordered them. Try the two pork options as well (carnitas and el pastor). They are both just delicious! I cannot wait to return, as I think about these tacos all the time.
