We took our two younger ones there for a quiet Easter Sunday dinner together. So many interesting things on the menu, we way over ordered. But everything was delicious. We had the pork belly confit, the cheese bread, the octopus, and the parm wings to start. They were all polished off quickly. Our pork belly did seem to have missed a sauce, but we just dipped them with the cheesy bread sauce and was very happy. My son ordered a few different skews and thoroughly enjoyed his Picanha, sausage and cheese and chicken heart. My youngest said the chicken hearts were the best she had ever tried. High praise from a kid loving chicken heart since just a tiny tod. My wife and I both ordered the ribeye over mushroom risotto. We order medium rare and both of ours came perfectly done. Both our kids thoroughly enjoyed trying our steak and risotto. My daughter and I both enjoyed mixing my son's Yucca mash with the risotto. She practically scrapped my plate clean. We all had our eyes on the pineapple, but all agreed we were overstuffed and will defer to next time. We even had leftovers to bring home to one happy Puppy. Will definitely return!

This…read moreDominican restaurant offers takeout and full service dining in a cozy and clean dining room. I stopped by here mid afternoon for an early dinner. The place was not busy and the staff was in the kitchen. It did take a while for someone to come out as I was looking over the menu offerings and I decided to eat here and took a seat at a table. I placed my order for the Empanadas Trio ($9 plus tax) and the Spaghetti with House Cream Sauce ($14 plus tax) and chicken (add $2). I was brought over some cold water and complementary plate of homemade fried crisp tortilla chips and fresh tomato salsa. The Empanadas Trio came out first, very hot, 3 good sized deep fried empanadas, 1 filled with cheese, 1 filled with shredded chicken & cheese, and 1 filled with ground beef. The shell was light and crisp and ketchup and tangy orange dipping sauces were provided. I would say their empanadas are some of the best I've had in the area! Next, the Spaghetti entree came out, a modest portion served in a bowl. The spaghetti was cooked soft with a light cream sauce not too rich and pieces of boneless pulled chicken, some pieces were chewy. After I was finished, I requested the check, but the total was initially incorrect since they charged me an additional $6 for shrimp instead of $2 for chicken. I saw the staff try to fix my check on the computer, but there was no pollo chicken option. I already knew the total with tax should be $26 and change and I paid cash with tip rounded up. Overall, I pretty good meal here and I would definitely order the empanadas again and try some other things next time. They also have a tres leches cake too.

I was hungry and in a hurry so I ordered takeout: a shrimp taco and a spinach and cheese pupusa…read more Wow! I've had many a taco and a few pupusas but not like this. As I always say in reviews, I'm a Parisian native and I'm pretty picky about my food from all regions. I was so pleasantly surprised about the quality of the ingredients and the freshness. It was really like home cooked food made by someone who cares. The pupusa was not deep fried, it was not greasy, it was just crispy enough on the outside and moist on the inside, and the cheese had flavor. The 2 small tortillas in the shrimp taco were handmade (!yes!) and flavorful, the shrimp was small but shelled, grilled, tasty and seasoned with cilantro, with the lime on the side and a slaw that was seasoned but not spicy (!yes again!) Side note: I always have a problem with spiciness levels. My palate cannot handle heat and I usually ask for not spicy or mild and still end up with my mouth on fire. It's annoying that I have to settle for food that is bland because there is too much heat in the dishes with spices. Anyway, I think the people who had a negative experience at Los Pinos probably didn't speak Spanish or their request didn't get across well. Because this is really good food, they care, and I'm grateful that I discovered them. I'm actually going back the same day to pick up more for dinner!

There was some true love put into that meat and that Consommé yup I could drink it!! Most birrias dont have to much spice but these ones did and I think that's why these are now my favorite ones thus far!!
