I got yelp just to write a review. I'm not picky and go with the flow. BUT this place was so bad I'm making a point to write a review. So. Waited 10 minutes to be seated despite seeing open tables, staff saw us, and the 10 people behind us and didn't say anything. Again not that busy. After seated took order all normal. Then waited 50 minutes for food to arrive. Again not busy. When arrived missing an entire dinner (only 4 of us), told it would be right out. 10 minutes staff comes back said they'd check on it. 15 minutes it didn't arrive. Again not busy at all now. Paying check my solution seemed fair. Give me that dinner for free and I'll give your 16 yr old staff a small tip, or toss the food and I just won't pay for it. They chose to toss the food. For this restaurant to be located in our area where eating places are "few and far in between" my family and I feel it is excellent. When we moved here from the Denver (CO) area we were so disappointed with our choice of places to dine....... We enjoy the new location much better than the previous location in the "old" gas station. The staff members are friendly and helpful.. The food is good (I have had better in larger cities)....... My First "AND" Last experience with EL POBLANO . While they are serving inside, we decided to get an order to go. And take it back to our cabin so we could relax. We ordered 10 tacos with soft corn tortillas and 2 with flour tortillas. Along with a couple other items. Once we got back to the cabin, we discovered ALL tacos were made with flour tortillas. NOT usually a big deal. But my wife MUST eat gluten free. (FLOUR TORTILLAS ARE A NO NO) So I returned them to get the mistake corrected. Mistakes happen, and I was not mad. A different young lady than the one that took my order saw me returning with the boxes, and asked if there was a problem. I explained what happened. And she took them to the kitchen. Soon, the young hispanic lady came out and looked at the ticket. Then told me I ORDERED FLOUR in a "that's a fact" sort of voice. Then disapeared back into the kitchen. I pulled out the paper I had PRE-WRITTEN our order on, to show exactly what I had read to her. She would not come out of the kitchen to see the hand written order. And I was told the owner was too busy in the kitchen to come out and talk to me. So YES. At this point I am upset, that I was pretty much called a liar. And to ad insult to injury, when I got the tacos with soft corn tortillas back to the cabin, they were totally cold because they DID NOT remake the tacos. But instead, dumped the insides of the flour tacos (cold by that time) into the correct tortillas. Mistakes happen. But I WILL NOT tollerate RUDE employees or OWNERS KIDS. read more

Service sucks! They don't even acknowledge you while you stand at the door. They never refilled our drinks or asked how the food was. Watched a table sit there for at least 20 minutes before someone even took their drink order. Food was decent, salsa definitely needs some heat. read more

We come here every time we are in Fairfield Bay! It has good food, great service, and the staff are very friendly.

Their cheese dip is very, very good. Great prices! Their portions are large and the service was quick. Don't expect to get a margarita here, only sodas and tea. I don't recommend the shrimp or fish items but everything else was very tasty. So happy to discover this place since my family stays in fairfield bay every year. read more

I disagree with Amy, this place is very good. It may be the only Mexican nearby, but it's still tasty. I would have to say that the red sauce is odd, tastes like spaghetti sauce, but everything else is delicious. Chips and salsa are perfect. We had a family of seven eating. I had the Alambra Especial. It was good. Nice mixture of pork, bacon, chicken, etc. Beans and rice were average. Chimichanga with chicken: cheese sauce on top is not queso but melted.shredded cheese. It was good. Enchiladas Tipicas with chicken was good. Most of us are from Texas where we really eat Mexican Food all the time. El Poblano was not authentic Mexican Food. However, everything we had was good. For being in the hills of Arkansas it was fine. Prices seemed very reasonable and the servings were more than ample. Service was good. Very attentive. Give it a try. It should be noted: 1) the people who printed the menu had major proof-reading issues. There are many, many spelling errors that are quite funny. Spend time looking to see how many you can find! :). 2) the address/location on Yelp is wrong. They moved a couple of blocks south awhile back. Just drive down the street and you'll find it. read more
