I've been to Birmingham a few times and never explored their local food options and decided to…read morechange that. Eugene's has really good reviews so I made this my first stop. And good thing I did! I looked at the menu and honestly wanted to order everything cause it all sounds good. I don't eat much so I went with the two piece chicken tenders kids meal. The lady who took my order said they have a regular chicken tenders meal but I said I wanted the kids meal cause I don't eat a lot. She then said "It's the same amount of food." which, ok cool, but I don't think that should be said cause they can lose out on money. Just my opinion. And FYI, I very often get kids meals cause I really don't eat a lot. Not trying to save money or anything. The meal came with two chicken tenders, sauce, fries and a drink. Fries were good. Nothing to complain about. Those tenders tho.....YUM!!! So much flavor. And the ranch I got with it....yes! Not sure when I'll be in Birmingham again but I will 100% go back and try other items!

A huge disappointment…read more I'd always imagined that fried chicken in the South was better than fried chicken in Omaha. Wrong! The fried chicken at Tracks and Surfside Club is way better than at Eugene's. The cole slaw is also better. My girlfriend is a native of Alabama and she was no fan either. She thought her chicken was tough. I got two different styles of beer and they were tasteless. I might as well ordered a Bud Light. And, of course, the music was way too loud.

10 out of freaking 10!!! Finally had a chance to try them out yesterday at the soul Sunday food…read moretruck edition at western hills mall my daughter raves about this place so we were very excited to try them out those famous egg rolls were sold out booooo we all had wings we got the train wreck (or something like that) and hot the hubs got lemon pepper sorry no pics but the wings seemed like they were brined and then fried to perfection the meat was so tender and crispy at the same times fries were hot and delicious everything was seasoned to perfection I will stop by their brick and mortar to see what that fine in experience is like

On to the 3rd chicken wing place!…read more When I was looking for a place to fix my buffalo chicken wings craving, since previous places have disappointed me, I had high hopes for A-Train Station. This is a food truck that also offers delivery. VERY VERY disappointed. First off, the menu does not describe it, but most of the wings options come with fries. Okay, cool, the fries were crinkle cut and crispy. When I opened the container to chow down, I was so let down I wanted to cry (not really cry like tears though...well, maybe the food heart in me did). The wings are TINY TINY TINY TINY. Itty itty itty bitty. Think the length and the width of a pinkie finger. I have small hands (I need to buy child-sized gloves for winter wear and kid's sized shoes) and as you can see from the picture, they are smaller than a normal sized fork. What was more, I paid extra for "extra saucy wings." There was barely any sauce coating one side let alone being extra saucy! What was more, they were soggy and the minimal meat that was on the bone was a poor and tough quality. Thus, 1/5 for size, 1/5 for crispiness 1/5 for meat quality, 1/5 for sauce. RUN AWAAAY! BOOO HISSSSS THE WINGS HERE!!! Not worth the money. And the hot sauce? NOT SPICY. I've tasted ketchup that is more spicy!

I've tried the Sweet Tea Fried Chicken Sandwhich before and it was good BUT it was something different about this one. It was fried to "perfection" and the seasonings were on point. I enjoyed every bite!!! Now, I am never thrilled about the consistency of the potato salad but once I get over the fact there are no chunks of potatoes, I really like the flavor. Check them out either at the truck or several of their brick-and-mortar locations.

I love Saw's so I was excited that the Street Kitchen food truck came to our office this week…read more Since every location has a few unique items on the menu and the food truck is no exception, I decided to try one of their specialties the Smoked Sausage Hushpuppies. Since they also have a Conecuh Corndog I thought they would basically be mini corn dogs. Instead it was typical hushpuppies with small pieces of the sausage mixed in. Not bad but not quite what I was expecting. They also were a little greasier than I thought they should be. The pimento cheese & pepper jelly was a nice accompaniment and added to the flavor. Ultimately I will probably try something else next time. I got a side of the Mac N Cheese which is my usual go to at most all the locations. Banana Pudding is also good. It did not take long to order and food was ready pretty quickly. The Colonel (Sweet Tea Fried Chicken, Pimento Cheese, Tomato, Pickles & white BBQ sauce) is one of my favorites and my wife is a fan of the Smoked Chicken.
