Very good Mexican at an even better price. Unassuming and small, this Mexican restaurant is homey to sit in and relaxing as well. They offer a wide range of favorites and house specialties. I had this chicken casserole thing I've never seen at any other Mexican place served, while my dinner partner had a classic burrito plate. The food was served fast and fresh. my wife and I have probably eaten at this restaurant 20 times since we moved here. Today's meal was horrible except for the rice. Waiter asked me if everything was all right. I told him no. 1- stale taco shells, 2-cheese enchilada was cold inside, 3- I said no beans rice instead, got the beans. 4-sadly, the manager did not adjust the bill which means he doesn't care about repeat customers, how the food was prepared, or a waiter that misunderstands your order. Order for pick up for a work luncheon. The servers were very friendly but unfortunately many of the orders were wrong (missing sides etc) but the food was overall good. We came here on Cinco de Mayo. We got there right after they opened, so my party of five didn't really have a wait time, since they weren't crowded yet. The dining room was clean and spacious and they seemed to be readily prepared with staff. The chips and salsa was really good. I've been to other "authentic Mexican" restaurants that had terrible salsa, so that was a plus! We tried the chicken soup, shrimp cocktail, Birria tacos, Caritas tacos, Carne Asada tacos, and Churros. Everything was really good. The only complaint is that the carnitas were dry. May have been reheated to long, considering they had just opened. The drinks were good. Overall, it was a good experience with friendly staff. read more

Disappointing. The way I identify a good Mexican restaurant is by the salsa, chips & cheese dip. After a 10 minute wait for a table, I was seated and they had the chips & salsa on the table. Chips were darker than traditional tortilla chips- appears that they were fried too long but they were okay. Unfortunately the salsa was way watered down with little seasoning or onions. Not good. Ordered a drink & some cheese dip. When they brought the cheese dip it was watered down even more than the salsa and wouldn't even stay on the chip. Had no flavor. I chose this restaurant based on friend's recommendation as opposed to a Mexican restaurant I normally go to that is no more than two minutes away. We decided to sit outside, it was a beautiful day. I had pushed two tables together for my family and children. We placed order, already had chips and drinks waiting on the order. The same waiter that took the order came out and told us that we cannot have tables together and would have to move meaning I would have to get the children and the baby and everybody re-situated somewhere else or not sit together. There were other families sitting at tables that were larger nearby which made no sense but because of his insistence we decided to leave even though we had already placed an order. Good going! That's a good way to drive away business! So we went to our normal place, it's two minutes away . So looks like they are kicking your butt with customer service alone. read more

We went to check in and the man up front told us to go outside to wait and it would be 10 minutes. I never was asked for my name and then when it had been 15 mins my spouse went to check on how much longer. Since he didn't put down our name he told us it would be 30 more minutes. I approached him to remind him he told us 10 minutes and he waved his hand in my face and told me that he never said that. Other people waiting even agreed that he told me 10 minutes. He wouldn't discuss anything further with me and promptly dismissed me. We have gone here quite often and will not be returning. Poor customer service. read more

I love the new location! It's really gorgeous inside. High ceilings and beautifully decorated. The food was delicious. The chicken chimichanga could have used a bit more flavor but I would still order it again. (Ask for the hot sauce! It's home made and delicious!) Hubs got a burrito and kids got tacos. Everyone was a happy camper! Our waiter was awesome, especially given I had my three boys at the lunch hour with me and they were being total hellions. He didn't seem bothered by them at all! Good job, waiter man! We will be back for sure. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is bc I reserve 5 stars for truly one of kind, unique, experiences or something extraordinary. We usually do a takeout with El Potro Richmond Hill. It's easy to call in and give our order and it's always ready when they say it will be. As far as the food, it's consistently inconsistent. The fajitas are as we order. The only time I ordered enchiladas, they weren't baked. Just wrapped like a soft taco with sauce on top. I've ordered chimichangas the last 4 times we've gone there and they've not been the same any of the 4 times. The topping has ranged from an enchilada sauce to a cheese sauce. This last time I got the red onion sauce, but no cheese sauce. Will I be back? Yes, but I've learned that I must be specific with what I want. read more

Went to eat dinner with the family. Due to covid we had to be sat next to the kitchen door. What made me give a one star and will not be coming back is because the music coming from the kitchen was blasting the whole time we were eating. Mediocre Mexican food. I'm from California originally and moved to Georgia a few months back. I have had some of the best Mexican in California and this place falls short of those establishments. I ordered three carnitas tacos with rice and beans. The carnitas meat was bland tasting and the tortillas were not fresh they were stale and cold. The service was terrible. We had two different servers who made us feel rushed to order as well as to pay. My husband got up from our table to ask for napkins and the waitress handed him our check. They began mopping inside with a very strong pinesol water while we were still eating. When we paid and were ready to leave we had to cautiously walk out the restaurant, making sure not to slip on the soaking wet floor. Save your money this place sucks! read more

I've tried this place about 4 times. Mediocre food at best. Salsa is very tomato watered down. No bite or flavor. I've had the fajitas 2 times and both times it was chewy and grisly. I wanted to try it one more time, getting something else. Tonight was my final visit! The Service sucks! Service gets worse with each visit. Last time service was slow and didn't get refills or checked on. Tonight,I couldn't get waited on even after I asked if the waiter could come to the table. Other couples came in after and immediately got waited on them he would hurry up and scurry off. So we walked off after 15 minutes of sitting there. I would rate this a -5 star if I could. It all started when the host said we had to wait outside because of restrictions in the waiting area. My mother is 74 and handicap and a young man said she could take his seat and he would wait outside. The host said no to that. So we waited outside until the waiting room was clear. We came inside. Then we were told they have no menu's, I had left my phone at home and my mothers phone can't read the scan code. So we were told that we could read it in the door way and go back to table. So your telling me there's no menus in that whole restaurant. Then the host got nasty with us and said he doesn't make the rules. I said I was going to write a review of google and Yelp about his customer service. He said go ahead everyone is hiring right now and I can find a job anywhere. I said I wouldn't hire him. He said he wouldn't work for me!! He also said to call him out on the review and his name Manuel the host at El Potro in Richmond hill ga.
