Authentic Mexican dive! Food was great. We had carne asada taco flaco bell style and carnitas sopas. This is more like food you would get at an authentic Mexican food truck rather than a usual Mexican restaurant. You pay for chips and salsa. They have no ranch or dipping sauces for the kids chicken fingers. Drinks are not fountain but from a cooler. Our kids enjoyed playing the games inside: giant jenga, giant connect four and basketball. Pool is pay to play. This could likely become more of a bar scene later at night. read more

Don't be deterred by the outside. Flacos Tacos was a delicious, affordable option open late-night that could accommodate our track club. The staff was very nice. The portions were huge. The chicken dishes were especially tasty. Our kids really enjoyed the options here. And after a long day at the track, we were grateful to have freshly cooked, healthy options available at 10:00 pm. Theresa's only one other person there when I arrived about 12noon but was filling up as I left. I was really surprised by all the Top Shelf tequila options: Don Julio, Heradurra, Patron & Casamigos. I had three tacos: chicken, pork & shrimp on soft flour tortillas. Very tasty with lettuce & cheese. The salsa was terrible. I was also supposed to get sour cream but they left it off. There were some work crews that came in, they were playing pool & drinking beers. I liked The Tigres Del Norte but it was way too loud. This seems more like a bar that serves food than a restaurant. Flacos Tacos is a dive restaurant and bar attached to a Red Roof Inn at the side of the highway, and you need to go. Everyone's dishes were fine-to-good, and my family dug the horchata, but my chicken burrito was the best -- so damned flavorful, with the right mix of spicy salsa, rice, tender chicken, onion and beans. Wow, I'm surprised this place is even allowed to serve food. We were a party of 4, and only one of us was able to eat their meal. When I asked about their quesadillas, I was told they did't reheat well. Ummm, am I not getting it fresh? ... this should have been our first clue. Tacos are really good here. Service is fun and place looks. Wry empty because they lack lighting to invite guests in. I have thought they are closed every time I tried to go there for a whole year until I saw someone walk out and realized they have no lights outside for some reason. Just to think about how many people are like me and they loose customers. Sad about that. Hope they get their act together and get that fixed so it can be a great place. Not much to be impressed from the outside, as the restaurant is attached to a hotel, but when you walk inside you will be amazed at the sheer size of the place. An enormous restaurant with plenty of seating, with plenty of space between tables greets you upon your entry. You order at the bar and wait for your name to be called. Having been here a few times already I know the sweet corn is superb, the burritos are huge, and Mexican plates are all served hot and delicious, and I can now tell you the chimichangas are massive to boot! Service is friendly, the place is wide open and clean, and I always want to make (at least) one stop when I´m visiting my son and his wife in Richmond HIll. I'll give all the Flacos Tacos credit, in that it is a local business that is growing, and has an amazing relationship with the community. Let's always try and buy/support local! However, I'm still trying to find the flavor behind all the hype. Where's the oomph? I've been to this location twice. The first time I ordered an elote and a carne asada sope. The elote was delicious, but also hard to mess up. My only critique on the sope, is that the meat was flavorless. I left content, but not in love. My second visit, pictured, I wanted to make sure I tried more of the menu. I ordered the 3 taco plate, with rice and beans, and a horchata. 1 Shrimp, 1 Fish, and 1 Carne Asada taco on a corn tortilla. For the price I paid, I am satisfied with my meal. However, the rice and beans were served to me COLD. And sadly were also bland in flavor. The sauce on the fish and shrimp tacos were spicy! Which was fine, since I was looking for some flavor this time around, I just didn't know it was going to be spicy - so be aware. The carne asada again, was flavorless. If it wasn't for salsa, idk if I'd want to eat it. Salsa should be an option, not a requirement. Final thoughts, I'll probably still give this place a try every now and then. Especially on their $1 elote Wednesdays. But they have room for improvement, when it comes to flavor. I would describe this place as just "fine". It's not the worst I've ever had, but it's definitely not the best. read more

This is THE BEST Flacos taco's restaurant. We've been to each one and this is THE BEST!! The girl taking the orders up front was so sweet! The food was FCKING BOMB! I got the nachos and my husband got the quesabirrias. Everything was bomb! They had esquites too and we got 3 of those I wanted to eat everything on the menu. The only thing is they don't have many meat choices, I would definitely like to see them add barbacoa and lengua on the menu. It is more bar/cantina style than family restaurant but my kids had fun with the jenga and connect game! They had Disney channel on too so that was nice! It's a really great spot! I feel so lucky that my fiancé and I found this unassuming spot for dinner near the highway. Our food was ready and delivered to our table so fast. I highly recommend the tacos. I had a veggie and grilled fish taco and my fiancé had a couple meat options; all were really great. The grilled fish taco was especially good from my order. The chips and salsa were also fantastic and seemed freshly made. Ditto for the delicious, soft corn tortillas. Inside is very spacious which was very reassuring in the time of Covid. It was clean and the interior smelled fresh. In terms of masking, most employees wore masks. Some in the kitchen and one helper in the front did not.
