Barcelona's Terminal 2 is sadly one of the poorest airport terminals I've visited at recent years, of course located at Barcelona El-Prat Airport which is the main airport to serve Catalonia.
This terminal seems to be used by some of the more budget airlines, including Monarch who I flown with to and from Manchester for my week in Barcelona.
I found the airport staff to be much more unhelpful than normal.
The toilet conditions were very unclean, and there seemed to be rarely any staff about. There were no disabled toilets.
There was a lack of places to pick up something to eat or drink too, even worse than it usually is at an airport.
There was a lack of signposting to the gate, hence the confusion of having to go through passport control before even getting to the gates, which in my opinion is something which should be done at the start because people don't expect to go through security again, so if you're in a rush you could expect that panic of missing your flight especially with huge queues.
There is free wi-fi however the free wi-fi is very slow and has adverts which is frustrating, and it did take a long time to connect too which was awful. My Movistar signal around the airport terminal also was really poor.
Due to lack of facilities, confusion and awful staff I sadly feel this terminal 2 at Barcelona El-Prat deserves a single one star. read more
