Big portions and delicious flavors. Desserts are ever changing to the owners whim, but she knocks it out of the park. We got strawberry tres leches cake and it was fantastic. If you like Mexican food, you have got to try this place. Service was very friendly. Drinks and food delivered very promptly. We ordered a combo plate with a hard taco supreme, tamale, rice and beans. The taco can be filled with your chose of meats. The shell was crunchy and filled with hamburger meat. Very flavorful. And loaded with lettuce, tomato and sour cream. The tamales here are homemade and absolutely some of the best I have ever had. I had today's lunch special, Jalisco, a dish with shredded chicken, grilled onions and peppers served over Mexican rice with a cheese sauce on top! So good! I've had this dish other places and it would be dry. Not here! And only $5.45 for lunch. We will be back. read more

Clean and friendly but the food was not good. Stale chips, weak salsa. The chili relleno was tasteless and mushy with the red sauce that appeared to be just canned tomato. The crunchy taco was okay, but the street tacos were inedible. The guacamole was not traditional guac but was tasty. The enchiladas tapatias were uncooked corn tortillas with chicken tinga inside with canned cheese sauce. Dreadful. The chili poblano was as bad as the relleno only enrobed in unseasoned fried eggs. The rice was typical but the beans were under seasoned . If you live locally it is nice to have somewhere to go grab a beer, but stick to the crunchy tacos and guacamole. read more

My family and I ordered take out tonight! Everything was amazing. We tried the Yolandas, Chicken chimichanga, kids quesadilla, combo with a burrito and Chile relleno. Go and give them a try. My food was excellent but my husbands soft taco shell had not even been warmed. Don't plan on a margarita here, it's a canned seltzer. We visited for Cinco de Mayo. Due to the pandemic we figured the restaurant in York and King's Mountain would have plenty of business. We live near El Preferido so we wanted to show our support. The restaurant cosmetics are not much. Granted, Penny's wasn't either. They are two weeks new. We stayed on the patio due to the quarantine, which was makeshift booths and burger joint tables. I have learned to not judge restaurants by their outside, especially in this area. Hole in the wall's tend to be the best (palmetto seafood, for example). Besides, with Mexican restaurants I'm more concerned by the foods authenticity more so than the cosmetics. As long as there are no bugs, of course. The food was very good. I went with ol' reliable: pollo con crema. Muy delicioso! The waitress was a sweetheart and was very genuine and present, even though the restaurant was vacant at that moment. My husband got $1 tacos for taco Tuesday. He enjoyed them as well. We did not get drinks due to them waiting for their liquor license. Which is totally fine. We have drinks at home :) I would urge everyone to give them a try. They cook your food for you lol. It is authentic. They are a new business, and were brave enough to open in this pandemic and serve their community and I'm proud of them for that. As business progresses their appearance will advance. We will go back again. So should you. Go go go!!! read more
