A very typical Mexican restaurant you would find in the United States but damn is it good. They are located in downtown York SC right in the main drag. There is street parking out front and a small lot across the street. There is a much bigger lot in the rear. The service is fantastic. Quick and friendly. The menu has very good variety. Of course your get the fresh chips and salsa. I always ask for spicy salsa and am usually disappointed. Not here. Their spicy salsa is LEGIT!! I had to mix in a little of the regular salsa and I never do that. Was torn between tacos and burrito so I got both. :-). 3 soft shell beef tacos with cheese and lettuce for $6.99. And they were very good. On the small side. More like an appetizer. The Cancun Burrito is a foot long of loveliness. It's my go to here. Get with the steak. Highly recommend! read more

Heck yes-five stars. Their food was amazing!!! We were in town for an event and got some food for lunch one day. The chips and guacamole were good, but the Carnitas tacos & Hawaiian quesadilla were phenomenal! The quesadilla was made with two tortillas and was stuffed (I was indecisive and got both steak and chicken in it)-I recommend eating it with a for and knife, but more importantly, I recommend eating it! They have a full bar, multiple margaritas and other beverages, and beer (I had a Pacifico while I was waiting). The service was very friendly. read more

I wrote a lengthy 5/5 review praising this place a couple of years ago. I think it's really gone downhill lately. The thing that impressed me the most about it when it first open was how fresh-tasting the food was. You could tell they were using fresh ingredients. Took some guys out to lunch. Not bad place. Front entrance not much of advertising. I had to look twice to make sure I found it. Food was good. I got a taco salad with chicken. Was kinda watery but the flavor was good. Wait staff was very nice and took care of us. They were awesome. Just moved into town and came to try Rosita's, and wasn't disappointed. Great atmosphere with friendly wait staff. Food was incredible. I tried the cheese steak quesadilla (steak quesadilla with cheese sauce on top) with beans and rice and it was absolutely delicious. Family owned, family operated Mexican-styled eatery on Congress Street in downtown York. Extensive 'Americanised' menu featuring traditional mainstream Mexican fare. Portions are adequate, if not generous, however quantity is affected in pricing. Plenty of parking available. ADA access very good. Beef or Pork Meat items can be somewhat greasy, however very flavourful! Guacamole is tasty, but is dished out in ration-style portions. Chips served, however somewhat small portions. Yummy sauce provided. Taco Salad is a solid bet: good portion, flavourful, non-greasy meat (beef), shredded cheese, etc. Quesadilla meat (beef) was delightfully seasoned, (not overly spicy) but a touch greasy. However, it was a wonderfully decadent cheesy treat. The chicken quesadilla was in proportion to the beef in quantity and flavour, without the red grease. (This item is the quesadilla choice!). Domestic and import beers, tea, and soft drinks available. Service was sparse, but the young serving lady was suddenly overwhelmed by waves of hungry patrons. I deduct no stars under those circumstances, and her tip reflected her brave perseverance in the face of those hungry hordes. On a sunny afternoon the lack of blinds/drapes leads to bright sunlight on the 'window tables' = very warm and blinding conditions. Rosita's is a great, local alternative to the chain eateries in Rock Hill or Newport. Should you wish to avoid a drive, parking hassles, and wish to support a local eatery; This is a good alternative. A year later::: Great to find a family owned eatery on Congress Street, for locals and visitors alike! Everything in my first review continues to hold true. The chicken quesadilla reigns supreme! The chicken quesadilla is composed of lightly seasoned chicken and just the 'right' blend of mild onions and peppers. It is NOT greasy or oily. During lunch, it's known as the #7 Lunch Quesadilla, and together with rice and refried beans, fills the lunch palate nicely. For those desiring a bit more 'heat' to your entree or red sauce, there's a plethora of 'bottled fire' type seasonings that can be drizzled on your dish. The kitchen seems very willing to alter sauces, etc to meet your dietary needs, also. The only consistent negative here relates to the bar items, which are served 'light'. I love Rositas! It's delicious, and the service is fantastic! It's a go to place for my friends and I to go to catch up and have a couple drinks. My only complaint(very small) is that the salt used for the margaritas is table salt... which is kind of a bummer but not a deal breaker. There are two Mexican restaurants in York. Both of them serve good food. I think the staff hear may be a bit more attentive. I just had the Arroz con pollo and it was delicious. My sweat tea was kept full. I was the only patron at 11:45 on a Saturday. That's a little odd I think. I like that its right on Main Street. read more

Mexican fare in York. This is a tough review as we didn't actually eat here, but feel it's important for people to know. As well we were driving through York we wanted to stop somewhere for lunch. Not a lot of options in this area so we decided to stop in to rositas as it was on the main drag in downtown. As soon as we walked in a strong odor hit us. It was like a very strong moth ball scent. The hostess seemed a little upset that we decided not to even sit down which led me to believe this has happened before. Though the food may be good just be aware that this establishment may have an unpleasant smell. read more

Rosita's Mexican Grill is the place to eat. I will definitely be back again for future visits. Unfortunately I won't be back as much as I want because I usually eat out on Sundays-they're closed for religious reason. I can't down anyone for following their belief or expect them to make exceptions. Anyway, the 1st visit I was pleasantly pleased with their lunch specials. They were very friendly and although I couldn't eat the salsa because it was too spicy, on my 2nd visit it only got better. This is hands down my favorite spot to grab lunch on the weekend when I come through. The have the friendliest staff and the best food for amazing prices. You will not be disappointed with anything you choose the try from the menu. When you aren't sure what to get follow my lead and ask them. They have awesome recommendations. If the beer cooler blinks it helps if you make great margaritas. We enjoyed friendly service and excellent margaritas here Friday afternoon. The salsa was hot enough for us, a little zesty for our northern friends. Our York friends like the food too. We'll try it next time we're there.
