While Walking down Calle ocho with my family we was approached by one of the sweetest waitresses from El Pub. . There was a band that was about to start playing so we decided to try it out - Entertainment was amazing & had everyone singing along having a good time. We ordered the appetizer platter which was all sea food - AMAZING, Fresh & flavorful. We then received our entrees and i hate to say this but i was very disappointed. Loved the Rope Vieja! Came to little Havana on a whim while we were in Miami for a couple hours. We came here around 830/9 and the restaurant which we wanted to go to was way too busy so we walked a little further and stumbled upon El Pub. Luckily they had a large enough patio to fit our party of 13. Food was good just wished everything was a tad hotter in temperature as much of our food was just warm. The food had great flavor especially my Rope Vieja and the side of tostones was a great call as they worked well with each other! Food: steak sandwich- over seasoned to hide possible rancid steak. Fish sandwich: just bad, spoiled, greasy and dripping in mayo. Do yourself a favor, don't eat here, empanadas are ok. That's it. Terrible service, terrible food. Go down the block to the mago de las fritas or the supermarket on 13th. Terrible Shame. By the way, my husband is the executive chef for the hospital, so this is not a generic statement but disclaimer. Not good. Update. Went down to Flagler: Palacios de Los jugos. Never disappoints. So disappointed. The on site parking was easy but none of us even ate our food. We let them know the chicken was so rubbery it couldn't even be swallowed and the soup was horrible. We sent it all back paid and left. They didn't offer to have anything remade or to fix it. read more

Wow!!!!! Absolutely the best Cuban restaurant in Little Havana. Exceptional service, I just couldn't get enough of our waitress. She truly gave you a vibe of an aunt you've known forever. She made great food and drink recommendations (the house mojito is a must!). She even noticed I had came in with an empty water bottle and refilled it for me without asking. I only came here to order a Cuban sandwich to go. Last time I was in town, I made the mistake of ordering a Cuban sandwich while dining in. This time I decided try a little bit of everything from different restaurants and then Cuban sandwich to snack on later at night. The sandwich itself was good. Your traditional Cuban bread, ham, roast pork with Swiss cheese and mustard as well as pickles which I forgot to ask without. The service was a little slow, and they looked at me weird when I had asked for it to go. Nonetheless, while I was waiting I looked over the menu and felt their prices were slightly in the high range compared to Versailles. This is the second time I come here when I'm Miami on Calle 8. This pub/restaurant is very good and popular. They have an outside window for drinks and to go orders. It's always packed. The locals are very friendly and serve you with a smile. I noticed the window edges by the tables were clean, yes clean no dust. I don't thing we can say that in other popular restaurants around. Anyhow, go ahead and order the cordatido coffee, it's soooo good. It's one of my favorites. On Sundays they have piano music and Mondays violin. What can be best and more relaxing than that. I went there early morning, while doing my morning walk at calle 8. The place was quiet, probably only 5 customers inside. La ventanita did not stop though. The customer service was great, people are usually either really mean or really nice during mornings, they were nice to me. They gave me my cafe con leche exactly how I like it, milk on one cup and the coffee on another one. I did notice she kept using the same container of milk which was previously warmed up. My coffee was great, but I would assume the longer they use it, the colder the coffee will taste. As you can see, the coffee came in a plastic cup. I suggested them to use ceramic cups and she mentioned they would use metal cups but due to pandemic they started using that. Once again, this didnt interfere with the flavor of my coffee. The breakfast was great. Maybe I was just really hungry. But it had a fair amount of cheese and the eggs tasted amazing. I mean, I got what I paid for. I wasnt expecting an experience type of food, I was just hungry and wanted something cheap and good enough. If thats what you are looking for, then this is a good place. read more

Totally recommend this home style cooking restaurant. As a first generation Miami-born Cuban, this food is very reminiscent of what my mom and abuela would make. This is my dad's favorite Cuban restaurant and says that their "tamal en cazuela" is like no other. I'm very picky with yucca as I don't like when it's dry, and the more mojo the better...and they hit the nail right on the head with that. They sometimes have live music during the day which is very enjoyable if you're dining in. Another cool fact is that they have a TV screen that displays all the show/movie scenes that have been filmed there. There's actually been quite a few including Ballers, Power, Wardogs and more. I highly recommend to tourists and locals alike!! read more

I thought that the food was pretty average Cuban food. They did have some live music, which was nice, but it was also very loud. The one star though, is mainly for the poor service. We noticed that our chicken was served raw and let our waiter know. I initially appreciated that they applied a discount to our bill given this mishap, but our waiter then added in pen a service fee to the bill that was basically the equivalent amount of our discount. We weren't told what the service fee was for and I found it odd that it was written in after the receipt had been printed. Our waiter also hovered over our table until we had finished writing the tip on the receipt, which was unprofessional. I think there are better options for Cuban food, even on the same street. read more

I cannot wait to come back to this wonderful restaurant. Our food was exceptional, the coffee was even better, and the atmosphere of the place truly took us to Cuba. Not only that, but the prices were some of the cheapest I've had in Miami. A full course meal with two coffees barely cost us $30, which is almost unheard of in this part of the world. If you're an American coming here, be sure to brush up on your Spanish because it will serve you well here. I absolutely cannot recommend this place more - the owners should be proud of the reputation they have created and the staff they have hired. Bravo! read more

I had to go up to the bar to get my check (was sitting inside). The food was also bad! I paid $25 for an unseasoned over cooked steak (asked for rare, got well WELL done).
