I live in a Hispanic neighborhood. Actually, some of my friends are from El Salvador. I tried their national food, which is pupusa. The location is good. I live 5 minutes from here. I love the decors. I ordered 3 pupusas for $10 including tips. The pupusas were super good. Mucha Gracious.

I have been avoiding this place because I used to live right next to it and the exterior scared me (lol) but decided to pay it a visit on a whim. The exterior is very welcoming and the big windows allow for a lot of natural sunlight. The service was a little slow despite there not being many people inside. They do have a few vegetarian options for pupusas which was nice (original corn pupusas are $2.00 - $2.50 or so) and the beans do not contain lard. The cabbage and sauce where good! Not very spicy.

Authentic Salvadoran food! Have been going to this restaurant for 15 yrs or so and the food is always absolutely amazing! Today I had pupusas, breakfast plate and pastelitos de carne.

    Hen sandwich

I went for pupusas but opted for a hen sandwich instead. The owners were there and were suggesting to the waitresses that the place needed cleaning. The waitresses were mopping as the diners ate. Haven't I read somewhere not to sweep or mop when restaurant has diners? By the way, this location has been remodeled nicely and even has a bar. The restaurant was chilly and two women moved tables to be away from the draft. It was chilly and rainy outside. I asked the waitress to adjust the thermostat and she said they weren't allowed by owner. Though the bread of the hen sandwich is good, watch out for all the bones on the hen. I almost chipped a tooth. Wouldn't it be better to serve a boneless hen sandwich? The slaw on the sandwich has too much mayonnaise. The waitresses were nice by the way.

Fried corn sticks with cream sauce, Pupusas:cheese, bean and revuelta. Rice flour cheese pupusa. Horchata (rice water)

The waitress bought us some complementary fried corn dough sticks with cream sauce. The dough sticks were burnt. My husband had three pupusas cheese, bean and revuelta he enjoyed them he commented that they were delicious. I wanted to try something different so I ordered the rice flour cheese and loroco pupusa. It was tough the corn masa pupusas are much softer. They had watery tomato salsa and yellow curtido I prefer the white regular one. Salvadorian food isn't spicy at all. I would probably go back and get the masa pupusas next time.

So I came here because met mother recommended it. But the atmosphere is great and the staff is cool. One waitress came up to me and spoke because she knew I was completely lost lol. She helped me order and she was really nice. I really appreciate it. I ordered the fruit punch drink that had actual fruits && 5 Pupusas The waitress name was evett. Pretty sure I spelled that wrong sorry lol

Restaurant says it closes at 9 but it really closes at 8:30pm. They should specify that so people don't waste their time.

I've been craving an original Salvadorian horchata, and most definitely this is not it. Very sugary and not much horchata flavored.

Our server was super attentive and he made sure that everyone's food and drinks came out at the same time even if someone came in later. I had the nachos with beef fajita and chicken, and I thought it was pretty good, it has the same set up as nachos from Pappasito's and my only complaint was that I asked for a side of sour cream to go and was charged a dollar for it. So if anything keep in mind that if you request an extra or even a condiment on the side, you might get charged a small fee.

The food was under average. 2 of us had the Tilipia dish and the flavor was good but it was super salty. If the chef cut down on the salt it would be excellent. The vegetables on the dish were nice. We couldn't eat the fish even though we asked for extra lime so we can squeeze on it. The shrimps dish was over cooked so the shrimps were too dry. The steaks were barely OK But the appertizers were good. We had pupusas and the plaintain Service was nice but we had to flag down the manager since our server was no where to be seen.

I went there due to seeing their instagram story about a $10 meal deal (2 pupusas, a pastelito, and a soda) but they had run out of pastelitos so I had to quickly choose something so I'm thankful that they were happy to help answer any questions. It's a small food truck located in the same parking lot with Fiesta off Paton and Cavalcade so there's no seating or real space to eat (unless you eat in your car). They're also honest about the wait time. They said it would take 15-20 minutes and they didn't go over their time estimate. I have only had pupusas a handful of times (I'm from a small town in WA state that only had Mexican restaurants since only Mexicans lived there, so don't judge ) and can say these were the best I've had thus far. They were freshly made and piping hot when I got them (I had to put the bag down from my lap because it was too hot) and remained so throughout eating them. The cheese was gooey and stringy and their salsa has a nice little kick to it. It wasn't greasy or too salty which is always a plus. I ordered the revueltas (pork & cheese) and added beans to them. They are HUGE so be mindful when ordering them (they also taste better the next day if you have any leftover). These were definitely worth the price. I would recommend this place to anyone who asks if I know where they sell good pupusas. Let's just say I'll be going in again (they're so close to me). I hope y'all enjoy.

New favorite coffee/study spot in Houston! This place is (I…read morethink?) in Montrose area, and a gem with parking both in front (with spaces) and street parking available. The baristas/servers are so friendly, and the shop truly feels homey. Perfection for studying, with inside ample tables/chairs with nearby outlets as well as some comfy chairs and a couch. There's also a cute covered outside area which I'm sure I'll experience post summer time. They have a few yummy looking food options at a great price point - including tamales and baked pastries. I picked the chicken tamale as a light lunch - I got the most delicious chicken tamale I've had thus far, served with kettle crinkle chips and a tamale sauce to dip. There are many coffee/non coffee options. I opted for the iced horchata latte - agree with prior reviewers that this is delish. It is not too sweet and a great blend of vanilla and cinnamon that masks the espresso. The atmosphere here is cozy but focused, with a mixture of people working/studying and hanging out. 10/10 will be back.

I always get their Horchata Latte---it is a perfect level of sweetness and the cinnamon complements the espresso perfectly (and it's only $5.50)! They have a variety of other drinks and pastries too, that I haven't been able to try. I highly recommend coming to study/catch up with a friend. There's a lot of coffee shops in the Montrose area but this has been one of my favorite.
