The tacos inside of a small grocery meat market store. The tacos are really good! Friday nights are pretty packed but that's when we normally go! I love the barbacoa and chicharon tacos and they are very flavorful. All tacos come with onions, cilantro, limes and a red or green salsa. If you wanna try some really good street tacos this is the place to come!! The people here are very nice and it helps if you speak Spanish but if you don't that's ok too because there's always someone there that speaks English. read more

Wow... i was in downtown dallas and was heading home while hunger appeared. it was pretty late into the night and saw that this place was open fairly late. I'm SO glad i stopped here. Simply put, the tacos were 100% delicious, and the best one is the chicharron taco. Normally, chicharron would be fried and crispy, but this place soaks it in sauce and it was like heaven on a plate. I don't know if the supermarket is open (as in you can buy groceries), but i did buy flan as well. i'll be back! read more

The barbacoa tacos were amazing! Staff was also very friendly. There's also a grocery section where you can buy snacks and drinks from Latino brands as well as staples for the food (tortillas, eg). If you bring kids, there are also small quarter prize machines that they'll love. Took one star off for slightly dry flan, but everything else was great! read more

This place has gone downhill since Covid. No chips, no pieces of bread for dessert, no bars for onion, cilantro, lime and whatnot. You can tell they try hard to reduce the cost. After 5pm it is tacos only. They have a card reader, it isn't cash only anymore. There is at least one worker that speaks english at night now too, although hitting Duolingo in the parking lot isn't the worst idea. Other reviews say the tacos are greasy, and they are, but my god they're delicious. Carnitas and Al Pastor are truly incredible. The Asada was a little dryer than I like, but that's all just coming down to preference. The salsas are excellent as well. Tacos are 2.39 each with tax an even 2.50. $20 covers you and your date after the bar. An excellent experience, I will be back. read more

Avoid this location!!!! My son and wife ate carnita tacos that had SALMONELA. This POISON effected both of them for 3 weeks. The kitchen staff refused to accept responsibility and are very rude. If you want "gas station" tacos, come here. It is a no fuss kind of place where you order your tacos in borderline Spanish but you know that it is authentic that way! First off, this place is THE BEST. I noticed people on here calling staff rude and that the facility is dirty? That's not true. Most of those people that made their review probably didn't speak a thing of Spanish so the staff probably had a hard time figuring out what they wanted. 2nd, every time I come here it's ALWAYS nice and clean. 3rd, the food is authentic and flavorful. The menu is misleading they do not use fajita I honestly don't know what type of shredded meat they use and call it "fajita" . Tacos do not taste good and the chicken tacos just look plain gross . This is my go to place for grocery shopping! Everything (meats, fruits, and vegetables) is super affordable. They have a small restaurant inside that sell the best tacos and aguas frescas. It can get super crowded though but it's worth it. They also have a bakery with fresh bread and cakes for special occasions. I love ordering their 3 leches cake! read more

The holy grail of taquerias has been found. It is on Story Rd in Irving. It's name: El Ranchero. I used to work near by and would visit twice a week sometimes. I now make the 30 mile round trip solely to get these tacos at least once a month, sometimes twice. And it still isn't enough. THIS is my favorite taco place. Why? The busy, buzzing atmosphere of a full dining room eating, talking, laughing. The clattering of the kitchen, the enormous chicharrónes above the meat counter, the smells drifting out the door with the music. One look at all the happy faces inside removes any doubt you've found the local's favorite spot too. Everything about visiting fills me with joy, every time. The taco plate is a great deal: 3 tacos, beans, and rice for $5. I've tried every meat on the menu and nothing compares to the fajita... generous portions of meat, well charred and chopped into tiny pieces so the gristle just melts away, giving everything the richest flavor you could hope for. The tortillas are fried on the griddle, and hold up well to the juiciness of the meat. Grilled onions are served on the side, and are always flawlessly caremelized. The rice and beans are perfect in every way. Don't forget the ever important Jarritos, or Mexican Coca-Cola. The best drink though is their lemonade. It can occasionally be on the sweet side, so I just add a bit of limon from the condiment bar. Speaking of the condiment bar, they've got it going on with the sauce choices! Avocado sauce is a nice change from the usual, and keeps things cooled down with the verde salsa starts to get to you. Their verde is the stuff my salsa dreams are made of... I don't know what, but they do something very special to it. There is also a buffet that looks amazing, but I can't bring myself to miss out on the lovely little tacos. I only come for the tacos, the best in Irving for me. Service is hit or miss, same cashier, "señora" always gives attitude in the front lanes. I've had great and OK service from the kitchen crew. During the day you have to pay the cashier at the front of the store for the Tacos or plates of food. Late at night you can pay inside at the kitchen or outside at the window. With the few burned out ceiling fluorescents, dust all over the ceiling fans, dirty walls, ice cream freezers powered by taped together extension cords, old machinery in the corners that hasn't been used in a while, a menu on the wall with hand written changes that haven't been in effect due to six more menu changes that weren't recorded, and old tired everything around me I sincerely thought I was going to walk out the doors into the humid, hot, salty smelling Ensenada air. I didn't have to imagine Mexico, I was there. And the food was brilliant!! You aren't asked "soft taco" or "hard" or even "street taco".......tacos only come in one way-Perfect. This is the first place I had traditional tacos years ago and I still love coming here. They are inside a grocery store. You order at the checkout and they always put someone who speaks English at the counter. If you go further into the grocery store they have an elotes counter. The meat is always well flavored and they give you options of both raw and grilled onions. Their lengua isn't too greasy and I always love the pork option. It's a little meat market with a few aisles for Hispanic dried goods and a small produce section, which by the looks of the pruny avocados, must not be very fresh. On the left side of the store is the corn and nachos stand and the cafe is on your right with a simple taco and quesadilla menu. It was almost closing time when I arrived and the cafe was busy still. I ordered a mix of lengua, barbacoa, and pastor. The meats except for the lengua were a little dry and the corn tortillas were so greasy I swear they'd almost slip off your fingers. ew. The plus side is their hot sauces are da bomb. Wow, the salsa roja has a sweet smokey flavor. The salsa verde is perfection. They're really generous on the meat portion but too much for the small tortillas. Not sure I'd be back and if I were to crave tacos in this area, I'd go to San Diego tacos instead. By the way, the Mexican corn in a cup was not very good either. I was really disappointed because it looked fresh and the lady at the stand cut the kernals fresh from the cob. This place is delicious. So freaking good. I tried literally a taco of every flavor. Some were great, some were ok, and some were terrible, but hey to each their own. I really liked the pastor and chorizo tacos. All the tacos came with a very generous portion of grilled onions, Serranos, and fresh cilantro. It's super cheap and you get a lot of food. I got 7 tacos and a Mexican coke for 10 bucks. It was presented really well and was totally unexpected. It's open late too, like real like. Will definitely come back. read more
