I recently stayed the night at the newly renovated El Rancho Motel and it was awesome!!! Its weird to say but the very second my foot hit the carpet floor into my room I knew it was gonna be great! Reason I say that is because the flooring had the thickest and softest padding ever! I knew that if my bed was as great as the floor, I was in for a good night of sleep. And YES, it was a great night of sleep! Upon my arrival, I was met with easy check in and they gave me a few discount coupons for local restaurants and Bearizona. Everyone was so nice and accommodating! The rates for El Rancho can't be beat! I give the El Rancho 10 very enthusiastic stars and I will absolutely return again!

Nice place. On Route 66. Very close to shopping, restaurants and bars. Rooms were clean and recently updated. Would return.

    What a great sleep !!

Super clean! Excellent attention & service. This pleasant accommodation has been totally & completely renovated. Our room was sparkling clean. It passed my "White Sox" test.I walked throughout the room during my 2 night stay in white socks, they were " out of the package clean when I checked out. The clean & properly working gas grill allowed us to enjoy tasty burgers at the picnic table. State of the art ice machine & fluffy linens added to a very restful sleep. Above all , but not limited to,was the concierge oriented service from Justin, he was extremely knowledgeable about the area and of a " Customer Service Oriented " mentality. Would Highly recommend this wonderful accommodation and look forward to staying again . Thank you Justin.

    very cool old school neon!

There was no action taken by the front desk person to make things better for me, the customer. La Quintas now have this great looking common area with a bar, lots of seating and all but no one is ever working the bar and it's dark due to not enough lighting. Very unwelcoming actually. I'm an older guy and limp around a bit so elevator not working is a problem. Fortunately our also older dog wasn't with us so I didn't have to carry her up the stairs to the 2nd story. We have stayed at 3 La Quintas in the last few weeks and 2 of them had elevators that didn't work. I am a long time La Quinta customer but now will not stay not only at La Quinta but also other Wyndham properties. Too many, if not all, are franchises and not corporately owned and managed. Wyndham seems to take no oversight responsibility for the properties and that's enough for me, as a gold rewards member and Wyndham credit card user to give them no more of my business.

The food is absolutely on another level. If you have a chance to do dinner at the inn, please do! Each dish is carefully crafted with so much time and effort, and it shows when it gets to your table. Same goes with the breakfasts, which are on a rotating menu and served in courses. I have never had a bad meal here. They even have great advice that we use in our home cooking now as well! We're from the South, where hospitality means a lot, and I can honestly say this was the best hotel service we've ever experienced. The Grand Canyon Railway was just a short walk away, making it incredibly convenient, and the restaurants nearby were all excellent. We also took the hotel's ghost tour, which was so much fun--although it definitely made it a little harder to fall asleep that night! Thank you all for making my birthday so memorable. We did not eat in the restaurant, so I can not speak for the food. You can purchase and all you can eat breakfast buffet. As part of your package for around $20 each, but we did not partake. It was your typical hotel, the room was bright and clean, the beds were very comfortable, the TV got a lot of cable channels, and the Wi-Fi worked very well. For the two of us, with a military /veterans discount, it was approximately $650. For that, we got a room for the night, an upgraded train ticket with the "Vista dome" car, and a bus tour of the Grand Canyon, including a very good all you can eat buffet lunch, and time to wander around Grand Canyon Village after the bus tour before the train came back. I'm still a little on the fence about how I feel. The playground is far away. Like really far away. For some reason I thought it would be more central, but you have to exit the property and walk across the parking lot and then across a little bridge to get there. We only went one time because it was boiling outside and we also had other activities. It was nowhere near convenient, and it shouldn't have been part of the decision-making process. It might as well not even be there. The pool is something we used each night we stayed. It was open late and there are towels available for use. The water was colder than expected, but the kids would just run back and forth between the pool and the hot tub (which was always full). The rooms were comfortable enough, but not the cleanest. When we got there, there was some substance on the shower walls, there was standing dirty water in the tub, and there was trash like used contact lenses on the floor. Also, whenever we returned from being out, our room smelled weird. Once we turned in the air, the smell dissipated, but still. I like that we were close to the lobby and the ice/water machine. The hotel was also really convenient for our train trip, as the station is right next door. We enjoyed our stay, even with all the negatives, but I'd probably choose to stay somewhere else that is slightly cheaper, more modern, and with free breakfast included.

I think noise isolation might be an issue if all the rooms were occupied, but there was only one other guest that night, I can tell because the other rooms were vacant with door ajar. The rooms are very clean, unique and do have a pretty deep historical feel to it. I greatly enjoyed the decor and bed was reasonably comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was far superior to the motel that we stayed in the night before. The location is close to a few food dining options in town. There is a vending machine in a guest break room with snacks and drink, but unfortunately the whole machine appears to be out of drinks, which was very disappointing. The bed and pillows were comfy, reclining chair was comfy, TV had HBO movies, microwave and fridge worked fine, heater also heat up the place nicely! Did not use the safe. The bathroom is dated but was clean, hair dryer worked, and shower got warm quick with good water pressure. The walls are pretty thin! You can hear everyone in the hallways. One day when we arrived back to our room, the room directly above us was running a marathon in their room or something.. we let them get it out of their system for an hour and a half before calling the front desk who said they can hear it too. The front desk said they'd call them and the noise finally stopped shortly after. With that being said, we only encountered friendly customer service! The free breakfast served in a dining area consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, bagels, pancake maker, oatmeal packets, fruits, juice, coffee. Coffee and tea is available 24/7 in the lobby! For those traveling with their dogs: We walked our dog around the hotel in the parking lot which wraps around the building. It felt safe since the hotel is above the main road.
