New sub panel with circuits transferred from the main panel.
    Jeriel M.

Needed a way to hookup our generator to the house. Since the main panel was unable to take an interlock, a more involved solution was needed. Daniel came to evaluate and gave us 3 well laid out options to choose from which including photoshopped pictures of the proposed work. He started within a week . Work done was very clean. Daniel and his team were very easy to talk to and were the most professional people we've ever had work done for us.

Main panel and EV charger installed by El Rayo team

This review is long, long overdue. El Rayo is the absolute best! Daniel and his team upgraded our main panel when we bought our home. Since then, they've completed several additional projects for us, including installing an EV charger, two 240V circuits in hard-to-reach places and a common wire for a finicky furnace thermostat. Daniel is incredibly responsive, punctual, and reliable. He's also lovely to work with and offers reasonable prices. Seriously one of the best contractors I've ever hired- strongly recommend.

Low profile microwave installed and now I can do the backsplash!

The removal of the old panels was completed in a couple of days. Contactors left supplies in my driveway for a couple of months until I complained enough for them to come pick up their left-over supplies. From August till around November, nothing happened, complete silence, or I get, we are waiting on this or that. During this time, I am paying full electric bills. The installation of the additional panels and battery pack (installed by Voltaic) was a complete mess. Stucco damage to my exterior walls, poor anchoring of conduit to walls, touch-up paint splattered on the ground and on equipment, and trash and debris left at home. Nothing till December, and SCE goes to connect the meter adapter to my electrical panel. NOGO, after all this hassle the socket meter is not compatible. Powur states they had no way of knowing that, and based on the age of my home, they assumed it would work!. This sounds like complete garbage. SCE can come out to check what meter I have, or there have to be other ways to check this before work starts. Anyway, fast forward to today, 3/19/2026, going on 8 months since the start of this rollercoaster, I still do not have solar-generated power. They had to upgrade my electrical panel to work with the adapter. During this time, little to no communication from Powur, flaky third-party contractors came to do work late or had to reschedule for Powur. They leave trash and rush jobs. I have had to make three payments on my solar loan and continue since Aug 2025 to pay full electric bills. $400-500 a month. All while my new system sits dormant on my walls and roof. (Came to find out this is all Voltaic workers) I have had solar installed on my home from another company, which was a pleasure to do business with, so I have experience and expectations with contractors. This company seriously needs to rethink the way they install solar. A scary and sad thing is, I don't think they will be around very much longer, like the rest of the solar companies going out of business. My advice stay away from Powur, it's not worth the hassle, quality of work, and professionalism you expect. As of today 4/16/26, Solar is still not operating correctly. Voltaic the third-party installer for Powur is a nightmare. Now it appears they connected my system incorrectly and are having to work through the problem to get it right. So here I am going on 9 months from start and still don't have a working correctly system. My advice stay away from Powur and Voltaic for any work done on your home.

I don't normally leave long reviews, but my experience with Powur has been nothing but stress,…read moredelays, and poor workmanship. * Bad system design & ignored warnings From the start, Powur placed 8-10 panels on the side of my home that gets heavy shade. I told them this, but they insisted it would be fine. Within a month, those panels were barely producing power, and Powur had to come back out and relocate them. This should have been avoided entirely with a proper site assessment. * Roof leaks caused by their installation After removing the original panels, we started having leaks whenever it rained. It took Powur almost two months to send someone for an inspection. When the inspector finally came, he found multiple problems: improper shingle installation, poor work around the conduit footings, and holes that allow water in. He recommended replacing the entire affected roof area due to the poor workmanship. It's been about two weeks since that inspection, and we still haven't heard back. * Serious electrical issues due to their panel decisions Powur installed a new main panel but left our very old original panel in place as a subpanel -- without recommending an upgrade. That panel is now failing. We're experiencing buzzing, sparking, flickering lights, and appliances turning on/off. Every electrician we spoke to was shocked Powur left that panel in service. They all said it should have been replaced before solar was ever connected. Now we have to pay out of pocket to replace it. Overall, Powur has been a huge disappointment. Between poor design, roof damage, long wait times, and unsafe electrical decisions, it feels like corners were cut at every stage. I fully regret going with this company and cannot recommend them to anyone considering solar. On top of all that, the value simply isn't there. Solar is supposed to bring long-term savings and peace of mind, but all Powur has brought us is extra costs, repairs, and safety concerns. Any "savings" we might have gotten are completely wiped out by the money we now have to spend fixing their mistakes. When you add the stress, delays, and lack of accountability, it's clear the service and quality you get from Powur is nowhere near worth what they charge.

She offered a free panel cleaning, which she set up internally and had their team come out this past Friday without issue. Since the cleaning the panels have been much better performing especially after these past few weeks of misting and rain, about 25% higher output. I didn't think much of it but I get now it's worth doing to get the most out of the panels. Overall a very good response and experience with OC specifically for this issue. Their pricing was competitive, and their substantial warranty sealed the deal. Highly recommend them if you're considering solar!

I'm not going to continue chasing after these guys for service. Earlier this year they received several positive reviews, then there's a drop off. Someone recently left a similar review about them earlier this month, so perhaps this company is heading down a bad path. Often times when researching companies, I prefer to start with the negative reviews then move onto the positive ones. The negative reviews at times gives more useful information than a fluffy, positive review would. I had a 21-panel solar system installed by Baker Electric in March 2015 using LG280S1C-B3 panels…read more In February 2025, I received an Enphase notification that one panel had stopped producing power. I contacted Baker Electric expecting a straightforward warranty process since I was advised the panel was still under warranty. Instead, I was told the original panel model was no longer available and that I would be responsible for paying the cost difference for a newer replacement panel. I was also advised Baker Electric would charge approximately $1,600 just to come out and diagnose the failed panel. Then, after the replacement panel arrived, I was told there would be another approximately $1,600 charge to return and install the replacement panel into the existing array. So, from my understanding, even with a warranted failed panel, the total out-of-pocket cost to the customer could still be around $3,200+. I understand warranties can have limitations, especially regarding labor versus equipment, but this experience was surprising and not at all what I expected after investing in a professionally installed solar system from a well-known company. I'm posting this so other customers understand what they may encounter years later if a panel fails outside of any labor coverage window. I would strongly encourage anyone considering solar installation to carefully review all workmanship, diagnostic, service-call, and replacement labor terms before signing a contract.
