Jeanette called ME to arrangement this meeting. I left at 4:45 because I needed to use the bathroom and Jeanette was not available. How does a bank let a stranger sit in the office and not ask how I can be helped? Another time, I was in a different vicinity and went to a US Bank at Slauson and Crenshaw. I was refused help and told I needed to go to my bank of origin? I have never heard of that requirement! I should be able to bank wherever there is a US Bank?!

At his request, I promptly submitted the documents he asked for. Since then, nearly three weeks have passed. I have left voicemails and sent follow-up emails requesting an update, but I have received no response. If the loan is no longer possible, that is understandable. However, a simple response confirming the status would have taken very little time and would have been the professional thing to do. Instead, after asking me to provide sensitive financial documentation, the complete lack of communication feels dismissive and unacceptable. This experience has been disappointing, unprofessional, and deeply frustrating. I expected better communication and basic courtesy from a credit union, especially after being contacted directly and asked to provide additional information. Sad that this type of thing exists these days. No honor, no ethical standards. UPDATE I was finally updated (after this post) that I did not meet the requirements for a vehicle loan. This explains why I did not receive a follow up! I am deemed unworthy as a revenue generator for the credit union = no need to follow up, we'll just move on to someone that is worthy of our time. He was incredibly responsive over email and detailed in outlining the benefits he provides to clients. I love that he has a secured file portal to keep all sensitive documents private and offers quarterly calls after tax filing is complete throughout the calendar year (this is included in the flat rate for filing). He not only helped me with my taxes, he also flagged that I needed past returns amended for minor corrections and laid out the options for me so I could make the most informed decision. He said that he could reconstruct the returns for a larger, additional fee - but that he recommended that I reach out to my previous tax preparer to amend the returns as that would be more practical and at a much lower (or potentially no cost). As a bonus, he even offered to be on the email thread to help clarify if they had any tax related questions while completing the amendments - which was incredibly kind and helpful :) I really appreciate that he presented me with options and helped make sure I had the most information before proceeding - looking forward to continuing to work with him for my tax needs!

I finally have been pushed enough and will be cancelling my account once I have fully decoupled everything from it. USCCU failed abjectly to protect my capital and honor its fiduciary duty to me. I disputed a debit card transaction from a dishonest merchant that failed to give me a refund that I was due. Despite providing crystal clear, irrefutable evidence, USCCU chose to drag its feet and still render no decision for almost 90 total days. This is highly unacceptable. I can't and won't trust this absurdly terrible institution to handle a penny more of my capital than what is absolutely needed to pay bills that are still tied to my checking account there. USCCU failed to provide good service multiple times when I tried to take out a car loan. USCCU failed to protect my rights as a consumer when a merchant failed to provide me a refund that I was due. Sure, I eventually managed to work things out with the merchant, but I should've had my capital returned to me far earlier.
