What!!!!! How did i grow up here and only try this place today? !!! Sooooo good. I had a pasiila pepper taco with cheese and onions and a chorizo and cheese taco. Salsa are Very good. Chips were something special. Not sure what it was maybe the salt. Or the small size batch?

    Hair found in burrito

Thanks for the hair in my burrito, el sítio. Ordered a asada burrrito. For the price of $13+, I would really appreciate no hair in my food.

Not knowing that El Sitio had a Goleta location after my last three years living in town, I'm glad to know it exists for the next three years or so! The exterior is nondescript but inside it's a cute, family-run, local chain. If you read the descriptions of the multiple pictures on the wall inside, you'll learn that El Sitio is the name of the small agricultural town in Mexico the owners come from. The colorful wooden chairs with heart cut outs and the chili pepper posters rating mild to spicy may also catch your eye. Simply walk up to the counter and place your order with the friendly staff. Know that if you go with a Torta (Mexican "sandwich"), you won't be disappointed! It is truly legit being on a bolillo (french bread roll) and filled with your choice of meat, topped with cheese, onions, tomato, jalapeño, lettuce, mustard, and sour cream. It's quite the deal given the size for the price! They also offer some other unexpected menu options I haven't seen at many other Mexican joints in town. This includes Brochetas (chicken, beef or shrimp skewers), Tacos de Choriqueso (sausage and cheese tacos), and Seafood Quesadillas. Vegetarians will also rejoice over their selection of Tacos de Rajas (pasilla peppers with onion), Calabacita (squash), or Chile Suizo (pasilla peppers with cheese), and Veggie quesadillas. You'll also be happy to know they don't use lard but instead 100% vegetable oil! From the flavor of their food, I never would have known! I do wish they didn't charge extra for chips, however, they do have an assortment of fresh, complimentary, homemade salsas, along with unlimited chopped cilantro, cilantro and onions, and whole jalapeños. I look forward to going back for their Breakfast Burritos I've heard raving reviews about. ¡Hasta pronto El Sitio!

Pretty bad breakfast burritos... Or maybe I'm spoiled by the Mexican food I get down in SD? Anyway, we only came for breakfast burritos... but usually you can't go wrong on breakfast burritos right? WRONG! We ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito and a bowl of menudo. The chorizo burrito was nothing but 1 spoon full of chorizo filled with a shit ton of beans. Basically a bean burrito... for $8. So my judgement is based on the fact that we didn't get to taste the actual chorizo bc it seemed like there wasn't any in there and we only tasted the beans instead... not worth it. The menudo wasn't any better. It tasted like tripe in some oily plain broth ... No flavors. We squeezed a bunch of lemons and it got slightly better. Staff was nice. They were pretty busy. By the other reviews I'm guessing a regular carne asada burrito would have been better... we messd up by getting breakfast burritos.

Menudo, I usually like everything I have tried from this place. But is just had the Menudo which they only available in the weekends. But I was not happy with it. Seems like they added the broth of something else they had left over. Perhaps the broth from the tortitas de camaron. Or something else, but is was not good.

    Choriqueso #9 it's chorizo w/cheese the best!

Love the choriqueso and raja tacos! Carne asada burrito is my fave with cheese. The burrito is so big i always have left overs for the next day. They have a very tiny salsa bar with spicy tomatillo, mild red sauce, pico de gallo, and roasted jalapeños. This is definitely a mom and pop type business and one of those hole in the wall places you must try if you want authentic Mexican food. Prices are very reasonable! Check it out if you're in the neighborhood.

El Sitio translates into "the spot"...and the spot it is. I had some chorizo tacos with cheese. Awesome. All for less than $6. The horchata was very generously sized. Seems like a great iocals spot that latinos actually eat at which is always a good sign for a Mexican place.

Found this place waiting on my tires across the street at American Tire. This place is the real deal. Great Mexican and very inexpensive.

Bomb and cheap. El Sitio over Super Cucas over Freebirds. Quesaritto is so good and their green salsa is prime. El Sitio supremacy.

Service attitude sucks. Wouldn't trust someone with a bad attitude making my food, obviously they don't want to be there.

Better off going to Taco Bell. $15 for a quesadilla with no cheese, soggy tortilla and stale chips. Daylight robbery

The line always moves fast and the food comes out quickly too. What compelled me to write this review was because I had a delicious pescado a la diabla, which was a daily special. The fish was a huge portion -- a whole filet with a delicious spicy sauce, perfectly cooked and flaky. The rice and beans are always great, perfectly seasoned and cooked. I also had a passionfruit margarita which was big and well balanced. The salsa bar is very good; the habanero salsa is really tasty but their old version without cream was one of the best salsa I ever had and I'm so sad they don't offer it anymore. It was legitimately spicy. I always love coming here with my friends after a movie so we can discuss the flick over some great mexican food.

The guacamole is fresh and while it's a little pricey, the portion os generous. The steak nachos had toppings spread throughout the chips, not just sitting on top which has been my experience at some other restaurants. The quesabirria special is my go to dish here, the meat is so tender and flavorful!
