They were suprised that I would like refills often when they crammed the glass with ice. My order was for beef and I got chicken. They did offer to fix it and I wanted to keep it because I was starving but I did wait for the steak and it was good. The one in Key Center is much, much cleaner. I ate at this place 1000 times. I went in last night and immediately noticed a difference. The food took forever, was cold when It finally arrived. Then, we figured out why.. new owners. All the good cooks were gone. In addition, we found out later the owner has a huge population of schnauzers that he is not caring for. He has them locked up and only visits the site occasionally. Officers had to remove a Dog that was dying. Shame on this family. Do not support this restaurant. read more

The food is pretty good but it's kind of gringo style. It's not all true authentic. There are too many Trump voters around here to appreciate a taco that is not made of a hard shell and ground beef. I think they call it "taco meat". Anyway I order from here and take it home about once a week. I can get a three chicken taco combo for $10 or go to McDonald's and pay $8. We were passing through Belfair at lunch time. It's not a big place with a lot of choices so we tried El Sombrero. We were VERY pleasantly surprised at how great the food was. My wife had a chicken and spinach dish which was delicious and not the usual Mexican fare. The service was attentive and friendly even though the restaurant was quite busy. They had an extremely small menu. Normally that wouldn't bother me but I didn't have a taste for anything on the menu. Americanized Mexican food is the worst. You go to every restaurant and they all sell and serve the same six basic plates. Fajitas, Pick two or three, mole, civiche, taco salad, al pastor. I had taco salad, my husband had the quesadilla we both had the horchata. The service was prompt and a tentative. But it wasn't memorable. It was great for a quick stop while we were looking at houses. I will say for the quality of food I thought the prices were a little high. The location was confusing on the inside finding the bathroom for both myself and my husband took some time. The bathroom for the women was hidden behind a door within the restaurant, and The bathroom for the man is hidden behind a door, behind another door. It wasn't the worst Mexican food I've ever had. Jose died the business was sold now its terrible. I guess the new owners dont care !!! Have tried twice. First time there were 2 customers and no customer service, the waitress was too busy talking to co-workers. Today thought I would try for lunch. 1 customer in there I waited to be seated employee playing on is phone and hostess or waitress giggling and talking in the kitchen no one came to seat me so I left and won't go back. Affordable Mexican God in Belair. We stopped our daughter at Camp Lyle McLeod and stopped for s late lunch. Carne Asada with roasted jalapenos on the side was just didn't for my husband. I enjoyed the seafood chimichanga. The kids meal is $3.99. Good deal. read more

We went to El Sombrero at 3:30 on Sunday afternoon (after the lunch buffet crowd and before dinner). There were two other tables (approximately 6 people). Service was really slow. The food was sub par. Same sauce on all entrees, no flavor, no appeal. The seafood in the seafood tacos was hard! Tough to chew. read more

El Sombrero used to be bland but serviceable in a Mexican food emergency, but they've recently come under new management. It's now inedible. The rice isn't even seasoned with salt, let alone spices, the beans are unsalted, the cheese is flavorless rubber, the salsa might as well be V8 for all the heat it has, and -- here's the kicker -- the burrito is topped with PASTA SAUCE. That's right. Not salsa, not pico de gallo, not even plain tomato sauce, but sweet, oregano-laden spaghetti sauce. VILE. read more

My husband and I eat at El Sombrero at least once a month. We always get fast service and fantastic food. Try the asada burrito. Mmmmm.

Great experience for the whole family! We're on a cross country trip from Canada and have eaten at alot of different establishments. Some have been great, some good and some bad. I tried this place when it said 'New Owner'. I thought it was decent before, but wanted to see if it was better, or at least not worse was terrible in literally every way. The new owner is a white guy, from what I can tell. And he's chatty. Which is annoying. The food was not good at all. The service was not good at all. We stopped at El Sombrero on the way back from a day trip to Bainbridge Island. We had never eaten here and in fact this whole development of shops was new to us. What a nice surprise. The service was very attentive, it seemed they could not do enough for us...No problem feeling ignored like we have been at other eateries. The menu seemed to have a good selection. I had the Gringo combination plate and my wife the Enchilada a la Crema which we both loved. We could not finish and had to ask for take home containers. The plates were very hot and nothing tasted as tho it had been warmed up or sitting around for long. They earned a generous tip and we plan on eating here again the next time we are in the area. My wife, who is more up on these things, said she thought it was authentic mexican food. read more
