    Happy Hour
    Chris V.

I stopped for Happy hour recently and was impressed. They o$er comfortable booths and our waitress was so helpfull since it eas my first visit. Her suggestions were spot on and the chips and salsa provided were yummy. Their Happ Hour prices were resonable too. I'm returning to try the othet Happy Hour items when I'm in the area. I enjoyed the experienc and the ADA parking was right outside the bar's door which I found convenient. I'll be back for more.

    Shrimp and Spinach Enchilada Special

L I went to Puerto Vallarta in Port Orchard for dinner last night and the overall experience was pretty good. The shrimp and spinach enchilada was really good. Plump shrimp and a tangy salsa verde on top. The portion was really huge. I could only finish half and took the other half home. The service was really great, the server was kind and was always around to refill our water and asking us how our food was. The ambiance of the place was really lively. I went during dinner time and the entire restaurant was packed. I had to wait a little bit before being able to sit down. The food came out pretty fast even though the restaurant was packed. Overall the experience was really good. The only negative of my experience was the wait time before being seated. It was a Friday night so that could also be a reason for the long wait.

Beautiful atmosphere with lots of booths and tables. Easy access to front door and drive up for patrons with disabilities. The guacamole was made fresh at the table and was delicious and served in a stone bowl. Excellent service from Savanna who was very friendly and knowledgeable. The carne Asada was cooked well but was just okay, but the salsa verde was excellent. Entrees are good, but not excellent for the price of the dishes. Guacamole and sour cream are $1 up charges which seems a little much. I would still recommend restaurant for families and larger groups.

    Crispy fish tacos

Turns out - it's a decent place for groups! They have two fairly good sized meeting rooms that have large doors that fully close and keep the sound of the main dining area out. It was clean and ready for the group when we got there, which was nice. Service was just ok, but we can't truly fault the single waiter that was left to take care of a group of 20+ people. Shame on them for not giving him more support, the poor guy was trying. Not successfully, but trying. I had the crispy fish tacos and my husband had the steak street tacos. We both appreciated the freshly made tortillas and fresh toppings. His steak was well cooked. My fish (Side note - it's cod. I had to ask because the menu just says fish, which I always find to be sketchy) was certainly crispy, but it was almost more breading than fish. And it had been chopped up so much it was a little weird, definitely not the chunks of fish I was expecting. However, it was fairly tasty and the avocado was delicious. We both ordered double Tito's, soda and limes. Pretty simple. And while that was delivered - they arrived in short glasses and typically a double is in a tall. Super picky, I know. And again, I totally chock that up to our server trying to take care of a large room totally solo. All in all - it's a pretty restaurant with decent service and food. And considering it's in PO I'd say that's about as good as you can expect!

Service was crazy fast. Food came out piping hot everyone was super friendly. The margaritas were delicious and generous in size. Good chill date night spot and family friendly.

    Pollo en molé Burrito Quesadilla

I don't understand the low ratings for this restaurant. It was good. They served salsa and refried beans with the chips, which rocks! I had a house margarita on the rocks with salt (stir it up before you drink!). I also had the pollo en molé, which was good too. Slightly sweet put no strong pungent chocolate aroma you'd expect from molé but still good. The beans were solid, the rice was tender and the chicken was cooked properly as well. Did I mention those fluffy homemade tortillas? I should've ordered 2 dozen to go. Thick, fluffy, perfect. Staff was efficient and friendly. I will go back.

I had great service. My waiter was Ricardo G. He is the best waiter I've ever had. The food is always great. Always will recommend!

Just a ratings update from my last review. Upon thinking about it, Eduardo C., who was our server, and the food deserve five stars.

The service was fast, respectful and genuinely a joy to talk to. Ambience could use some work but for what's being done with the place it's fine. The only reason I even came in to get this was because I couldn't believe Pizza Hut with a straight face tried to charge me 30 a pop for a 2 topping. Why would I ever give them money when I can get something infinitely better for the same price or cheaper from an actual sit down restaurant

The food is good. It's not cheap, but you normally get a good portion, and it's filling…read more I really want to love this place, but the inconsistency is really starting to make it difficult. First off, towards the beginning of the year, when we tried to call in orders, they had changed their number, and when you looked it up, it came up as a completely different name: "Taqueria Mucho." There was no explanation, it still said Birrieria Tijuana on the building, and there was no mention of any changes. Over the summer, they weren't even staying open their advertised hours, although that seems to have been resolved. Also, you used to get lots of onions, limes, and sauces to go with your tacos, but even that has changed for the worse. Last time, we ordered 12 tacos and got two bags of onions and limes. Each bag is good for about two tacos. This time, just one bag for 10 tacos, and the limes have definitely seen better days. I understand if they felt they were wasting food and wanted to changed the portions, but then communicate. I get not everyone eats them. I personally don't need 5. I'd have been fine with 2 or 3 bags, but not 1. Then, they tie the takeout bags off, so you can't check your order. Nothing is worse than getting home to find out you don't have onions. Certainly not driving 10-15 mins each way to go back and have cold food. The other taco place I go to asks you each time how many salsas you want and gives you exactly that many. Would be pretty easy to do that here. Furthermore, they now use to-go containers that don't breathe, so I got home to 10 soggy tacos that cost over $50. Maybe they ended up with the wrong ones from a vendor, but then take a few minutes to cut holes in like other places do. I get it, times are tough in the restaurant industry, but $50 for soggy tacos, barely any onions, and no limes doesn't make me want to spend money here.

The waitress was welcoming, cleaning behind the bar since there was no one when we came in (pre-dinner on a weekday). We got the traditional chips and salsa, but here they also include refried beans. All were good, the salsa was bland and could have used some jalapeños. Menu is your classic Mexican food, we ordered the Carne Asada Fries (app) and the 3 protein fajitas. The meat was seasoned and the fries (extra seasoning) had a seasoning salt. The cheese was real, not nacho cheese and the fries were crunchy. I wish there would have been more meat, as the size was small pieces and not a lot of it to be carne asada fries. The fajitas were the best part, from the cook to the seasoning. We asked for flour and corn, not sure if we paid for the extra tortillas. The 2 dishes came out just under $60, so the pricing is a little high but still worth the visit. Not sure what health department issues they need to fix with an OKAY rating. This is probably the better Mexican food stops in PO. Solid 3.5 stars that I am rounding up.
