Had to stay in Washington for a while after coming back from overseas and of course I was craving some Mexican food. My friend who used to live in the area suggested I try this place and I was SO happy I did. We'd lived here for nearly a year before we decided to give Juanito's a try. All I can say is, don't judge This place by its size as the most incredible food is served here! We couldn't believe how gigantic the chimichangas are and even more, how delicious they are! We tried the carne asada fries too, which were also fantastic. The street tacos are incredible too. Juanito's is back open! Just go there. The food was fantastic and fairly priced. I had the mole tamale and Cali burrito. Both were very good, so much better than many of the other Mexican restaurants we have nearby or in western Washington generally. I'm from Southern California where there are many great Mexican restaurants, which unfortunately is the case in WA from my experience so far. Is that it isn't super new person friendly. They are great for regulars who know what they want, but if you're new, bring someone who has been before because the menu isn't super descriptive and you don't know exactly what is in everything. They are also not the greatest at leaving things off(like sour cream), when you ask. But now that we've been a few times, we have our order down and love it every time! Chicken enchiladas were stuffed with chicken and the mole sauce is to die for! The mole sauce is a family recipe they make in house. Also came with beans and a nice sized scoop of rice which both were very yummy and a Mexican coke. lunch combo only cost $9.99! The wife's chicken torta was pretty large and very flavorful! Oh ya, also ordered 2 chicken tacos which were incredible! This place reminds me of the Bay Area taquerias in Cali. This is definitely my go to spot for Mexican food! I'm so disappointed, I knew the original owners, and they would have never let this place become what it is now. The customer service was terrible, I ordered the beef burrito, and there were large chunks of cartilage in my burrito, maybe even bone? When I brought it up to the cashier. She just looked at me lost like I had done something wrong. There was no apology, nor did she offer me a refund. Wow! Best carne asada on western side of state! As a San Diego native, great Mexican food is hard to find in the PNW. This place brought back memories of home. Flavor is amazing. It was worth the long wait going through the drive thru. Long wait wasn't their fault though, it's just how the building is positioned. You can't order at a speaker menu, rather, you place order directly at the window and then wait. We got a Cali burrito, asada tacos, and asada quesadilla. Everyone loved it all. We'll be back often! It was my first time here and I ordered a veggie burrito. I asked what came in it and was told it had rice, beans, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomato and avocado. I asked for no tomato. However, what I received was a tortilla with just wilted, old lettuce, rice and a tablespoon of beans...mind you this cost me $9.80. The building is easy to miss if you're going too fast. There are several picnic tables out front, families dining. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and fun. I ordered lunch and sat down at one of the 4-6? tables, as Spanish language radio played and the kitchen hummed along. Relaxing, right? The food was great. I tried 'Mula'? with their special pork. It was like a quesadilla inside a perfectly grilled quesadilla, with a wee bit of guacamole and maybe sour cream inside. Heaven. Street tacos for the win. First time diner, have no idea why I've waited so long. The Pollo was a tad on the dry side but very tasty. Abodaba nicely seasoned and as with all the tacos, perfect amount of Onions and Cilantro. The star of this trio was the Carne Asada, sometimes less is more they let the carne stand on its own, not overly seasoned. Last but definitely not the least was today's special Rice and Beans with 3 Cabeza Tacos. My mouth is still watering as I write this. Perfection is all I can say. Hands down one of the best Mexican food restaurants in kitsap county. Very authentic taste and fast service. Me and my family eat Juanito's at least three times a month. (Sometimes more). Love their Tacos and Carne Asada fries. My daughter loves there beans and rice. It's the perfect combo for our family. If you haven't tried Juanito's you our surely missing out. The carne asada cali burrito here is sooooo good I think about it every day and eat it at least once a week.
