    Beef tacos
    Day D.

$1 tacos! Great spot after the club, or working late. I wish it was more meat in the tacos. Messed u my order also but lucky I love beef.

My favorite taco place in Houston. You have to try the chicken tacos on corn. It is to die for. Also the service of great and extremely fast no matter how busy they are.

There is a line here for a reason, some of my favorite tacos

WHERE HAS THIS TACO TRUCK BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE?! Definitely some of the best tacos I've had in awhile! I stumbled upon this place because a friend highly recommended it. Needless to say, that friend now has my highest respect when it comes to tacos. These are must try tacos! The tacos are small, but they are only $1 - $2 each depending on which meat you choose. Al pastor and barbacoa were my favorite. They come with onions, cilantro, lime, and their 2 special salsas and you're in taco heaven. Just beware the green and red salsas pack a strong kick of spice, but for me the spicier the better! I'm drooling just thinking about this taco truck again. Just don't forget to bring cash cause it's cash only. Parking is kinda weird cause it's in a gas station parking lot. But the ambiance of eating these authentic tacos in the back of your truck late at night really adds to the taco experience. I'll definitely be coming back here soon!

Tacos, and in the center a machete, couple charro beans

Get a machete, you won't regret it. These tacos are top tier, very dangerous. My good friend suggested them to me and My expectations were through the roof because she's a chef herself and claimed these were the best in houston after living here for 7 years . Needless to say my expectations were met and surpassed, charro beans are a must, salsa verde must. I've tried their torta cubana, machete, quesadilla, tacos, and ofc charro beans. And may i say, THEY BUSS

Mannnnnnnnn! I paid a dolla per pollo taco!!! I guess it was a special today! Basic meat, onion and cilantro. It came with some bomb green sauce. Oh my god!!! I'm going to be a regular here! I paid a dolla for some really good tacos!!!!!!!!! I love them lol I don't even know them. I seen a few car at the shell waiting around and decided.. hmmm kinda want some tacos. Best decision of my life today

    Gypsy Tony Tacos
    Sarah S.

Just moved to the area and was weary of trying a new taco spot. Would always drive by in the evenings and see consistent traffic here. Decided to try it out and did not disappoint. I got the gypsy Tony tacos and YUM. Everyone on IG is asking WHERE?! $2 a piece which seems reasonable for the amount of toppings in the taco. Looking forward to returning when the craving returns. Only thing is I requested frijolitos and they said they'd add em but they forgot- best bet is to follow up with the person packing your food.

Gypsy Tony taco and tripe taco ($2 each) palm size but delicious

Do you ever finish eating something delicious, sit back and let the food you devour settle in, and then realize...wait a sec...I'm still hungry!!! Well, this happens at El Taquito Truck because you get these amazing morsels (aka what they call tacos) of food, but they are tiny. Not just small, but these suckers are tiny. Let me break it down for you by the recommended number of tacos to order: 1 Taco: you get a tease, you're not hungry at all but all your friends are getting tacos so you get one. 2 Tacos: it's like an appetizer. You know you want something to eat, but you only get two tacos because 1) you're trying to save money or 2) you're just looking for a snack. 3 Tacos: you're hungry but you're not hangry. You're the type of person who usually gets full by eating just the burger and no fries. 4 Tacos: you just completed some strenuous activity and you're pretty hungry. This is a good amount of tacos for a normal day. 5 Tacos+: you're rich because these bad boys are $2 a piece and if you get more than 5 you're spending at least $10 on TACOS. (I mean, Torchy's is expensive too but not THAT expensive for what you get.) Granted, these tacos are seriously good. The Tripe Taco is the most popular according to the chef, and I only really tried this one, but I can see it to be true. Definitely check this place out but expect the steep price of $2 for a taco the literal size of your palm.

Hands down one of the best tacos, quesadillas, and green sauce in the H. My go to is El Gato on Westheimer but since they don't open until late in the evening I decided to give this food truck a shot. MAN....it was super delicious and actually gives El Gato some serious competition. You know it's gonna be good when there's a constant line. Trust me you will not be disappointed.

Named after the El train in Chicago
    Fox E.

If the NYC subway stretched all the way to Ecuador (and it should), then you could take the M train ta Guayaquil and you could take the "L ta Quito." Unfortunately it doesn't and you can't. But there you have it. What to get: Chorizo & Steak Tacos for $2 What not to get: Yelled at for parking at a gas pump, but you will anyway I was tempted to downgrade them to a 4 star rating because they refused to make our tacos until I moved my car from the gas pump at the service station here, whose parking lot they use. Other customers were parked there, nbd. However the girl was fairly nice about it, and complimented my gf's 7-inch pink stilettos (you know the ones if you've seen my recent Yelp photos), and hey don't judge, it was Saturday night (but she wears them anytime tbh). And in their defence, they get in trouble if their customers block pumps, apparently. Speaking of pumps, so yeah, my gf. All that aside, the tacos were some of the better taco truck tacos in town. Chorizo good... zo, zo good... Asada (Steak) good... the mixture of the 2, though, was out of this world. So I recommend you get one with the 2 combined. Slurp slurp slurp. Watch out for the salsas. As with all real Mexican food, they may blow your head off. If you're sensitive to spice levels, use sparingly or not at all. Most taco trucks score either a 4 or 5 from me because they're so cheap and often delicious, but this is one of the better ones, and I'd highly recommend a stop here on a late night on Richmond, to anyone who loves real Mexican tacos. Now I have to Taco these broken wings and learn to Fry again, Fry some refried beans.

Frijoles charros -comes in a small little cup, it taste like restaurant style, or something or something that could've came from a can and just got warmed up. Tacos -my goodness they're so small and cute and mini. You should definitely order 1-2 more than what you usually eat. I usually eat 3, my man usually eats 5. When we ordered here we were still hungry. It's a little greasy, but waaaay better tasting than Apache tacos across the street!

Good is suuuppper good. $1 tacos thhheee best! The lady wasn't bery friendly tho, but it's okay as long as I get me my tacos

For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. All of the drinks were very pretty and it seemed like everyone enjoyed them, too! We started with their chips and salsa trio, which we all really liked. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!

It definitely is enough for 2. The meat melts in your mouth. EVERYTHING is better quality than here. Teo charged $1.50 for perhaps 4 or 5 slices of lime to make the happy hour margaritas made with a gross mix drinkable. That's outrageous. It reminds me that I had stopped going long ago when they charged extra for onions on enchiladas. Come on. You don't charge extra for chopped onions! I have never been to another restaurant that does so. Some even provide carmelized grilled onions gratis. I'm convinced that a $15. YUMMY mango margarita at Pappasitos would have given us the same buzz & tasted better than 8 happy hour margaritas here. I used to love the in house made flour tortillas at Teo. Tonight they were tough & uneventful. We arrived on a week night when they were not busy. Neither of the salsas were as good as they used to be.The water pitcher didn't even have ice when they refilled the water. I have absolutely no desire to return. Why would I?

The restaurant has an intimate indoor space and adjacent covered patio. Both were already full when we arrived which created a lively atmosphere. The inside was so tasteful - small but moody and warm! I'd definitely recommend a reservation for the weekends! We started with the aguachile de camaron as a starter and WOW my husband cannot stop talking about this dish. The perfect blend of textures and flavors - this will be a must for us every visit. We have had our eyes on the 5-course Chef Tasting Menu for $49 + the optional beverage pairing for $30. The experience felt more than fair for the price, especially by Houston standards. Each course felt thoughtful and slightly boundary-pushing, yet really approachable. My partner and I have been on a bit of a mole kick recently, so were very excited for the hanger steak with truffle mole. It absolutely delivered and would love to order this again! We were also heavily drawn to the tuna tartare starter, masa cornbread, and tres leches. The wine and drink parings were perfect and not too fruity. The brut rose was a perfect way to start and I always love a mezcal cocktail. I highly recommend anyone visiting to start with this Tasting Menu and leave the stress in the hands of Chef Adrian Torres! We had the pleasure of chatting with him briefly after our meal and were so impressed with his story and clear excitement he brings. The rest of the staff were equally kind and really added to the evening! We started with the "corn ribs" appetizer and WOW. Probably one of my favorite corn dishes I've had in a long time. So flavorful and addictive. We also got the "Tiradito de Hamachi" crudo, which was fresh and delicious! For the entree, my friend and I shared the tacos (which comes with your choice of 3). We added an extra taco to make it 4. I was genuinely shocked that the mushroom taco ended up being my favorite because I almost always prefer meat, but it was THAT good. The fried shrimp taco was also amazing. For dessert, we got the tres leches cake. I'm usually not a huge fan of strawberry or fruit toppings on desserts, but the cake itself was really, really good. I ended up just removing the strawberries and eating the cake, which was moist and flavorful. The only downside for me was the drinks. They looked larger than they actually were because of the glassware, and they tasted a little watered down. I had two, and they just weren't very strong or super flavorful. Other than that though, the food and service absolutely made up for it. Definitely a spot I'd come back to!

I prefer traditional homemade Mexican food but here we are. (Oh I googled and suggested this place lol) Went in for a team lunch on a Friday. Coworker's birthday lunch and she wanted Mexican. Party of 9 and we were seated promptly. They have a lunch menu and a happy hour as well as a full menu and full bar. The interior was nicely decorated. And open. There is bar seating and patio seating as well. Our waitress was Aisha and she was amazing. Friendly, helpful and patient. And able handle our large group and a few more tables with a smile. There were a variety of options. Salads, fajitas, nachos, enchiladas, etc. Also complimentary chips and salsa. My Order: chicken tortilla soup, lunch fajitas combo - chicken and beef. Chicken tortilla soup (3.5/5) - it was a bit salty for me but I am not a salt person so most things are salty to me; everyone else said it was tasty, there were tons of shredded chicken, avocado pieces, tortilla strips Fajitas - combo (4/5) - chicken was seasoned well and the beef (medium rare) was perfection and so tender and juicy, mexican rice was fluffy, and normally I would pass on the beans and get extra rice but my coworker suggested the charro beans and wow, that was a win - the seasoning was great, there were chunks of meat and the texture was nice, the only thing that could have been done better is the flour tortillas - they over-charred them making them too crispy and left them with a burnt taste. A couple of people got the elote salad and raved about it. So that will be a next time try. Def will be back. Everyone enjoyed their meals and some even ordered food to go. Would recommend.
