Came here for taco Tuesday and they offer tacos for $3 each. Good spot for a sit down Mexican dinner and for happy hour but just your run of the mill style food quality options. Service was excellent with both our waiter and the manager being super friendly and attentive. The strawberry cilantro soda was surprisingly really good! Better than the margarita options in my opinion . Definitely a chain restaurant vibe and very popular with the older crowd. read more

Went on Mothers Day for my first time, made reservations weeks in advance. Waiting 40 minutes past reservation time to be seated, only to be seated outside in the parking lot, in a pop up tent next to the dumpsters which were open and full on a 90 degree day. This was not something we chose but have 2 toddlers so just sat there. The food was good, if you get to it. The buffet was stocked in the waiting area as well and was surrounded by people waiting to be seated. While the food was good, and our server did her best we won't be back. It seems as if they are trying to maximize reservations beyond their capacity or capabilities. Also the bathrooms were appalling and they should be ashamed they let people see them that way, it's not a dive bar but a $42 per person meal. read more

We had questions and some employees they responded that they didn't know, as simple like what you guys for dessert, or did you accept military discount nobody knows. What happened to the El Toritos? We were invited to a celebration at the La Mesa location and what a disappointment. The service was good as always but the food was absolutely horrible. I wish I would have been brave enough to take pictures of all the dishes. They did not look appealing. It looks like they don't care anymore. Everything sucked. Menudo, taco bar, omelettes, corn tortillas. Most of the trays were nearly empty and were not getting refilled until you mentioned it to the service staff. Too bad, I used to really like El Toritos and we were pretty excited to attend the celebration today. Even my sister who is a regular customer for game day said "wow, El Toritos has really gone down. Don't the employees and cooks understand if people stop going there, it could cost them their jobs. Come try to get it together! read more

I cannot believe that the people who wrote good reviews for this really bad restaurant actually looked at the place and ate the food. The dining room is filthy, and the carpet is indescribably dirty. There is ground-in dirt in every corner of the room. No maintenance for years! If the dining room is this dirty, I hate to think what the kitchen looks like. Also, the food is very bad. It has almost no flavor at all, and it is a very poor example of Mexican cuisine. I could barely find any chicken in the chicken enchilada that I ordered. I can only believe that the glowing reviews on Yelp for this place were either written by the owners or by people paid by them. The best thing that could happen to this place is a health department inspection. You would be better off and safer going to Taco Bell! read more

For the food, the tacos, rice and beans were great! The carne asada fries were mid. Now the service was honestly the worst service I've ever experienced , well I can say for this most recent time because I've been here several times. The bartender had to take our order because or server was "too busy" then we were never given any chips and salsa until I asked! And that still took about 12 minutes to come out I was done w/my food before the chips and salsa was given to me, not mention I asked the MANAGER.
