Brought my girlfriend here for a quick meal and drinks before heading out for some serious gambling. We ordered wings, fish and chips, and garlic parmesan fries. The drinks came out quickly and were nice and cold -- honestly the highlight of the visit. Unfortunately the food took about 20-25 minutes, and when it finally arrived it was disappointing. Everything was cold. The fries especially felt like leftovers that had been sitting for a while, which is never a good sign when you're expecting fresh bar food. I'm not overly picky, but if there's one thing I care about it's hot food -- especially fries. The drinks were solid, but the kitchen missed the mark this time. I ordered the Korean BBQ Wings while the rest of my table ordered Coconut Shrimp & a Burger. When I got my Wings, there was a hair resting in between two wings. I don't really have an issue with that, so I ate the rest of my food. The food was okay, nothing too crazy. Honestly everything I tried wasn't bad, but I wouldn't return here for the food. It's more of a convenience location. The entrance is a bit confusing if you're coming from the casino since there is a ramp that leads to it. I wish there were signs pointing to the entrance or somewhere near the back mentioning that it was meant to be an exit. This simply felt like a casino restaurant. The service was a bit slow. When we finished our food, we sat for quite some time while waiting for the check. Besides that the employees were nice and made sure we got what we needed. Becky was in the casino throwing money at a keno machine near Rank & File. I'm not much of a gambling man so I ducked into Rank & File and threw some money at Kevin the bartender in exchange for a Modelo. I like a guaranteed return for my money. LOL! The Padres were on the many TVs above the bar, so I took up residence at the standing bar/rail that has no machines embedded in it, so as not to block a machine from someone who wants to play. Beer was cold, service from Kevin was friendly and efficient, Padres lost. :-( read more

Located in the Sycuan Casino, this restaurant is a great place to enjoy good food and watch sports on their massive tv. It's not enclosed so while you dine you can see the activity around the casino. We were greeted right away and only sat for a few minutes (we had made a reservation for our party of 8). Our server was super friendly and efficient. We ordered various burgers, sandwiches and wings. The food and drinks came out in a timely manner. The food was a good portion and each of us thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. The best part was we were able to watch a football game on a massive tv screen and enjoy good food. Overall, it was a good experience. I do wish it was a bit more enclosed and private. Dozens of tables were open and they wouldn't seat us. Finally we get seated after an hour and the tv doesn't even have the fight we want on. I ask the host that's seating us if the channel is changeable and she says no way. She was a younger girl so maybe she's just new. Appetizers, salads, sandwiches, desserts, soups, burgers, sides, and drinks. I opted for the Smoked Beef Short Ribs dinner. OMGOODNESS!! It was DELICIOUS!!! A nice portion on the roast with gravy. The mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery. The in season veggies were cooked to perfection!! Another order was the Smoked Brisket Sandwich! I was told it was good, but wish it was sliced layers of brisket instead of pulled pork style. The fries were crispy on the outside and moist in the inside! YUMMY!!! The full rack of ribs was a hit!! They're thin and crispy fries but they are not dry on the inside, and they're super flavorful! The other dishes we tried were the chicken nachos, onion rings, and buffalo boneless wings. We are regulars here. Sometimes we sit by the pool tables where you can play machines while you eat and have full service from the staff. Our favorite waitress is Amelia, five stars all around to her. She remembers what we like and lets us know the specials as we sit down. My girl and I usually know what we want to eat and our food comes out crazy fast. Today we had the nachos and added brisket. We both have big appetites and couldn't finish the backs, they're huge. We also had the broccoli and cheese soup. It's also a big portion. But this isn't like the normal small soup you get other places. This is a proper bowl of soup, served hot and it had a bunch of huge chunks of broccoli inside. Not huge where you can't eat it, I'm talking proper bite size pieces that you can chew. There are tvs everywhere and also a 35 or so inch tv in our booth. It had the game on from last night, but we asked Amelia to put on the college championship game that was on and she hooked us up in about 90 seconds. I was there on a Wednesday afternoon. Avarz was an excellent server and very attentive. Popped in for a quick snack. Military inspired decor. Very dark wood panels and recessed lighting. TV's all around with multiple sports on the screens. A small stage and a small DJ booth were in the main dining room area. Perfect for live music or trivia nights I saw advertised around the casino. She got the order and someone told us that the ribs were not available until 2 hours. Instead I ordered an alternative. It was not that busy tho the server said that she is the only one in the floor. We've been here a few times and the food is always very good. Service is always good too. Our experience today was exceptional. Our server was a lovely person who took great care of us and so friendly. We started with the Pretzel Bites appetizer. Definitely try them! I got the T.A.B.S. Sandwich with Cole Slaw, Hubs got the Reuben with Mac snd Cheese and our son got the Philly Cheesesteak with Fries. Everything was made well, delicious and sizes are generous. We've been coming here for years never a problem. On 8/5 at around 8PM the host on duty told us it would be 15 minutes and they would text us for seating. 45 minutes go by my wife checks on the seating and host says it will be 15 minutes. 2 hours later I check and she says we texted you 4 times. My wife follows up with the manager on duty who is very rude, and shows her they've texted, but says she can seat us now. She refuses to test the text functionality with my wife standing there. Nobody offers any apologies or consideration for the wait just shifting blame to us. The manager comes by while we are eating and I ask her if this is how they approach customer service. She then explains that the system was having problems texting IPhones and she has IT working on it. Why did she not lead with this instead of treating us like second rate customers? She offered a condescending apology. She did not even offer anything for the inconvenience at the time, but sent the server over to say the meal was comped. No accountability or customer service again. This experience was poor enough for me not to return to this casino again. Very disappointing. read more

Vegas is too far and the hungover flight home is always a complete disaster. You feel like crap, your 45 minute flight to SD will be cursed with a three hour delay, and your wallet is quite a bit lighter than when you first arrived. Seriously, I could sit here all day/night and play video poker while being served drinks by some friendly faces, specifically Layla - she's dope. Hell, now that I type this review it crosses my mind that she likely doesn't know my name, but that's all good, my drink is much more important. Be prepared for smokers sitting next to you. If you can take it, you're in biz, but if you can't you'll be fanning your way through your losses, that I hope are minimal for both you and I. I usually sit at the bar area, order food and play keno but I went with a group of people that night so we sat at a table. We had ordered the birria tacos, garlic Parmesan fries, chili and brisket nachos. None of the dishes stood out to me, I just picked at the food. I wanted to order the garlic bacon fries, sadly they don't make those anymore. It was so delicious, I would order it every time I was here. It was pretty quiet on a Saturday night inside the restaurant, plenty of open tables around. Most of the time, they have music blasting in this establishment. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. They are generous with the drinks when I sit at the bar area. They accept your players card for discounts, redeem your free food points or to earn points, make sure to have your ID on hand. The brunch buffet on Sundays is super good especially for a price point of just $30 per person. They had an omelet station, waffle station and other cold seafood along with lunch items. There was so much to choose from and it got really busy as soon as it opened up at 9am. The only downside is that the buffet did not include bottomless drinks and even though we were one of the first to be seated they took like 10 minutes to get us plates, after that it was smooth sailing. Even though this is the fourth time my wife and I are staying here at the Sycuan resort, we are always so impressed by the beautifully appointed rooms and the quality of service we receive from the moment we arrive. Not only is everyone very friendly, but the resort itself is very clean and spacious. And with this being an adult only property (no screaming kids), we can truly unwind and relax. The Casino has many slot machines to pick from and bingo too if that's your thing. A big shout out also to Rank and File restaurant for their consistently delicious food, generous portions and wonderful wait staff. Our server Kelcie was very friendly and often checked in on us to see if there was anything we needed. I've included a few pictures of tonight's meal. We loved every bite! We ordered the sampler platter and it started off great, as the chips are delicious and clearly just came out of the fryer. The caramelized onion dip tasted closer to ranch, but still yummy. That's where to good times end - the birria egg roll was greasy with an unpleasant aftertaste, the pretzel bites smelled bad and had a spongy texture, the chicken strips tasted like from a freezer bag and over fried, and the sliders were poorly assembled, cheese completely unmelted, and on an overly sweet bun.
