Decided to eat here on Halloween after trick or treating through the mall. First time at this mall and first time eating at this place. We were all starving at 7:00 and the place looked packed, however we were seated immediately. Within 5 minutes we had chips and salsa which were solid and then a few minutes later we had our drinks ordered. The menu was huge with all of our favorite Mexican dishes. I got the chicken and steak fajitas which were only $8.99. My daughter got a soft taco and rice, my sister got some kind of chicken quesadilla, and her boyfriend got chicken, steak and shrimp. We were all blown away with how good it was. I ate every bite. Very tasty, flavorful and authentic. We even got the banana cheesecake desert which was also amazing. What's even more impressive, was our server Victor. Yes I had to ask him what his name was. He was so quick and efficient. He was literally running up and down the ailes to serve his tables. This place was packed too. He didn't want to keep them waiting. We were all amazed. Everyone working there was sweating and working hard. I caught Victor walking past us and shouted "YOU'RE A BEAST" which seemed to bring a smile to his face. The bill was $48 and I tipped $25. Could have left more. He stopped over and thanked me which I asked for his name then he gave my sister a thumbs up as we were leaving. I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and we don't have any Mexican places this good. When I visit Tennessee again I will certainly be back here. Again, try and get Victor. You won't be disappointed. Pleasantly surprised by the menu and the different protein choices. My husband chose their cheese steaks...awesome quesadillas with grilled peppers, onions and beef along with a guacamole salad and queso. I decided on the pork chile verde....wow! The sauce was homemade, the meat was fork tender and SO flavorful! The rice was fabulous and I did not eat my tortillas, but observing the diners around me, looks like they were quite yummy. Server was very nice, stopped by enough without hovering or abandoning us until it was time for the check...I appreciate the right level of attentive. Comfy booths and adjustable tables...too often a fixed booth table feels like it is a mile away from me and I have to lean forward to eat. Not here...able to pull it right up to me! I usually love this place. It's been a go-to spot for a few years but it seems like they've changed the staff around some and it's kind of lacking now. The food was decent....the service.... No bueno!! They were very busy, and we got a table out on the patio pretty quickly. They must of been greatly understaffed, and though our server was friendly, and for the most part attentive, you could sorta tell he was running around like a chicken with its head cut off. First blunder... My meal, which was the vegetarian mushroom quesadilla, number 7. I even pointed to it on the menu when I ordered it. It came out first, but wasn't the right number 7. Which I don't understand that they have the same numbers for dishes, under different categories. It went back to the kitchen. We finally got all our meals, except for my boys, which was a simple single orders of a kids chicken nuggets and fries. We thought it was going to come right out, about 10 minutes pass, still no nugget meal. We told our waiter, he said he'd come right back with it. Another 10 minutes pass.... 20 minutes since we got our food, and my two young boys still haven't gotten theres. We tell them we want to speak to the manager. The manager comes to our table, no apologies, and when we explain the situation, and point out that's its unexceptional to make our children wait that long to eat, he cops an attitude, and gets defensive. He finally comes back with their meal, and it was deplorable. The fries were way too overcooked, and dry, where it hurt to chew them. Did the manager offer any explanation as to why we had to wait over 20 minutes for my son's food to come out..... No Did the manager attempt to apologize for their complete mess up... No Did the manager comp us the messed up order..... No Their only saving grace, and the reason I gave the 2 stars instead of 1 was that our meals tasted good. But, I don't care if their food is the best friggin' Mexican food in the whole world I won't be going back.... the manager needs a SERIOUS attitude adjustment. The only thing that I would change regarding this place is the alcohol. The majority of the time there are usually rude and obnoxious people who have been drinking way to much.
