Stopped in for a quick supper. Very busy place but was seated quickly. Typical Tex mex decor. Plenty of parking. I had the shrimp tacos for a change which came with beans and rice. Solid. Lots of cilantro which I love. Chips were the thicker variety and the Salsa was only mediocre. My guest had chicken and rice and steak and rice. They loved theirs as it was swimmingly in cheese sauce. The sweet tea was super sweet and they both had water. Service was solid and attentive. read more

Our friends recently moved to New Market and we would drive by this place on the way to and from their house. We all decided to eat lunch here today. We were seated right away when we went in. We ordered unsweetened tea to drink. The server brought us chips and salsa with 4 bowls. The only issue was that the chips were all broken. We called them chiplets. The salsa was very good. Our friends ordered queso and it was delicious. I ordered the ala carte Tostaguac because the lunch tostaguac includes beans and rice and that was too much food for me. It was delicious!! My husband ordered the lunch tamale. It was different than most tamales. It had shredded beef inside and it was covered in ground beef with beans in a sauce. It also came with rice and refried beans. He said it was really good and he would order it again except it was way too much food! The tea was a little bit too weak for us but still ok. The decor was your typical Mexican restaurant decor. The pics in the hallway to the bathroom were nice. We will definitely try this place again! read more

First time there, we have passed by there many times, always a lot of cars so we thought why not good place to eat lots of people well the only reason that is because it's the only Mexican restaurant around. We ordered the waitress was very unfriendly and didn't give us the time a day. Food came out fairly quick. We ordered steak fajitas and it was burnt hard crispy. Terrible smell like hell because it was burnt. inside reminding me of the 1960s it needed to be updated windows dirty pictures on wall crooked didn't even go with the Mexican theme. The seating was nasty cut seats. The floors were horrible trash everywhere. We did not enjoy our meal at all will not be going back until they remodeled this restaurant and maybe get a different chef or manager for the kitchen. read more

The parking lot was full which is always a good sign. They were crowded on a Sunday afternoon. We were seated right away. We were given chips and salsa quickly. They were good. We both had beef taco salads which came pretty fast. They were good too. Check came quickly as well as checkout. The only problem is the ambiance/atmosphere. The ceiling needs immediate attention. RESTAURANT POLICY TO RESCIND POLICE DISCOUNT IF SOMEONE OTHER THAN THE POLICE PAY FOR THE OFFICERS DINNER. first time we ate here, brought friends, our bill was $75. FIRST OF ALL, waitress was not pleasant. My first reaction was that she was in a bad mood, friends got same feeling so it wasn't just me. The food was good and prices reasonable. No complaints there. Two officers walked in and had dinner. They got up to pay and we asked them for their receipts so we could pay for their meals. We go up to pay and the woman at the register and the same waitress are arguing back and forth about the bills. The girl at the register says "the waitress made a mistake... The discount shouldn't be on here". OK I GOT YOU... if the policemen had paid their own bills they would have gotten the discount ($20 total for both) but since WE picked up their tabs, the discount was removed and both receipts now $37. NICE WAY OF DOING BUSINESS AND TURNING OFF NEW CUSTOMERS. WE WONT BE BACK. read more

I might be a little biased, but this is hands down the best Mexican place I have ever had the pleasure of darkening the doors. As a broke college student, this was the place to get your fill on the cheap but also leave more than satisfied you wore your stretchy pants. Returning often as an adult leaves the same result that's for sure. I just wish it was closer but worth the drive. Cheese dip is out of the world, creamy and perfect when you double dip into their one of a kind salsa. Don't miss the Coke products either - they are fresh and very bubbly. Almost too sweet. I'm not one to complain, because we ate anyway, but my husband and I both stayed in the bathroom the rest of the night. Even my stepdaughter, who only took two bites of the plate I only ate half of, was up in the middle of the night puking her guts out with diarrhea. I have to get up super early for work and am seriously so nauseous, I'm gonna have to take something for it before I try to drive myself to work. Hands down, this is my favorite Mexican restaurant of all time. I loved it many years ago and missed it when I moved away. Now I'm back and I'm so glad! Even California Mexican food does not compare to the Chimichangas we get here. Their cheese sauce is so good, especially on the rice, which means I order extra every time. I have tried other things on their menu, but the Chimichanga is by far the best bang for your buck. I have eaten El Sazons for 20 years. Food; I would say the food is hit or miss depending on what you want. If shredded chicken is part of your main meal, expect plain, unseasoned, and greasy. The beef is generally well seasoned but very well done cooked. Portion size is generous. Always willing to substitute. Restaurant; the inside is not spacious but cramped. You may say and hear excuse me for bumping elbows with the table next to you. The noise level is borderline unbearable. Staff; expect to see your waiter twice, when you order and when the food is brought. After that, you will either have to send a search party for anything else. To receive your check one will need to hunt down your waiter or tell the cashier what you ate and drank. If you are female or eating with a female, the waiters will stare and make them feel uncomfortable. read more

Okay, pulling into the restaurant I was skeptical; because the vibe just seemed different. However, stepping into the restaurant spelling amazing food change my mind instantly. When me and my friend walked in we where instantly seated, idk if it was just a coincidence, but I was happy. Chips and salsa made their way to our table swiftly, and THE CASO and the chips WERE WARM. This is important; usually the caso and chips aren't the best quality. The food was the SPEEDY GONZA. My wife and I ate here last night. We were driving through and thought we would check it out because they were so many cars in the parking lot. When we came in there didn't look like there was a free table available. There was a group of four ahead of us. Although the waiting area is very small, we weren't there long. We were finally seated at a table. They were obviously very busy but we got our menus fairly quickly and were able to order quickly as well. A couple more things about the atmosphere. They stack and pack I'm pretty good. You're not going to have a private conversation in most of the tables unless you get a booth by the wall. The bathrooms are very small and my wife said the lock on the women's restroom door did not work. The chips were excellent. This also was not a chunky kind, rather a consistent purée. It was mildly warm, but adding some hot sauce gave it even more heat. It was flavorful though. My wife and I both ordered the chimichanga, I had the beef, she had the chicken. It came out fast, and both were done very well. The rice and beans were good. Hailing from East Texas, we both have a pretty high standard for Tex-Mex food. This ranks right up there. This is a family owned Mexican restaurant. The food always comes out piping hot, and super fast. The staff is friendly and always keep your chips/salsa and drinks topped off. Speaking of their salsa, it's incredible. I've considered getting a job there so I could figure out their secret recipe. I always order the chicken chimichanga, and my wife orders the chicken fajitas or carnitas. I had low expectations for a Mexican restaurant in eastern Tennessee, but I was SHOCKED how good it was. Honestly better than many restaurants in California. The wait staff had us seated very quickly even though they were very busy. Waitress was very nice and attentive. I did not have an empty glass once, even when she was waiting on around 10+ tables. I had the Fajita del caribe and it was extremely good. Served on a sizzling skillet and excellent. I'm 6'3 225lbs and I was stuffed from the huge portions. Still had food to take home. I moved here from Arizona, and after some sub par Mexican dining experiences, I walked into the door with low hopes. I needed enchiladas- enchiladas that did not suck. El Sazon delivered! We walked in, ordered, and we're on our wayhome with the #12 enchiladas, an El Sazon Burrito special, and a Quesadilla Rellena, in what seemed like some sort of record time. Got home to discover that they had added chips and salsa at no charge, like out West. Bonus! The burrito was almost an enchilada, as it had been smothered in cheese and baked. The husband still enjoyed it. The tasty tortillas and chips seemed homemade. The salsa had plenty of heat, but tasted a bit of cocktail sauce? We both loved the chicken filling, and felt less enthused by the ground beef option. I took a bite of beans first, and almost forgot I had an entre to eat as well. They were prepared well. I do not yet know what type of hot sauces they offer in house. We smothered ours in Valentina and Chipotle Cholula at home. Yum! I look forward to dining in the restaurant, and trying the nachos and chimichangas. I hear they serve beer! Defiantly check this place out when you are in the area! read more
