Decided to give a Mexican restaurant a try to see what we could, possibly, eat. The Guacamole was vegan "as is", no cheese or sour cream in or on it. Vegetables are vegan if you ask for them to be sautéed in oil, otherwise it's margarine which may or may not have dairy in it. Refried beans were vegan, as is, no lard in them Corn tortillas were good to go. Not a lot of options, but nice that there were some! Our server was really helpful - even though we were a pain with all our questions, LOL We were brought out chips with salsa and a bean dip which had cheese in it, so that didn't work, but once we got that figured out, it was smooth sailing. Great service. Small spot at the end of the shopping plaza. The carne asada fries the meat was delicious but it was in straps wpuld have been better cut smaller to enjoy with ever bite. They give refried beans and salsa with the chips both were flavorful and delicious. I ordered a tamale and an enchilada a la cart. Both had great flavor. We loved this restaurant for a couple of reasons, it has fresh margaritas, a salsa bar and authentic food! We recommend getting the Birria Tacos as well as a margarita. Make sure to try multiple sauces from their sauce station, they each have their own individual flavor and make it fun to experiment with. This restaurant did have higher than typical prices, so make sure to check their menu before hand. One more note, the enchilada con mole was good, but it was a little over hyped. The food was above average, but very small and loud place and service was a little hit or miss. Enchiladas were good, star was the red sauce and fresh pico on top. The margaritas were a bit sour but princess liked the mudslide. Chimichangas were crisp, but ordered beef and came out chicken. Beans and rice both bland but large servings. After a long day at Dollywood we needed something open late. Chips and salsa and bean dip hit the spot. Clean bathrooms helped too. We ordered the trio of enchiladas, carne asada tacos and California Burrito. We didn't know about the salsa bar until after the food came and we enjoyed the two green salsas the best. Was in Tennessee On vacation when we came across this place. They looked super busy but we put our name on the list and expected to wait a long time but to our surprise within 10 minutes we were seated. Our waiter came to the table immediately took our drink orders brought chips with two different kinds of salsa dip. They were fresh and very good. Once our drinks came out our food order was taken. Within minutes the food was delivered. Our cups were never empty. He brought more chips and all three dinners were exceptional. Everything tasted fresh, it came out hot and the portions were plentiful. Nice Tex-mex spot. Came here for lunch a week or two ago with a bachelor party. Friendly staff and rather large menu. Very fairly priced. I got the: -pollo diablo lunch special (9.99) -michelada mexicana, which came in a giant mug. (8.99) Both were excellent. Great flavor and a lot of food. Not overly spicy. This was the first Tex-mex spot that actually served bean dip alongside salsa and chips. Both were very enjoyable with the chips. Waited 7 min before anyone took my order. This seems like an eternity when you're eating alone and staring at the chips which looked delicious. I was served chips, bean dip, and salsa immediately upon being seated. But nobody brought out a water. I had put my menu down on the table and to make sure this wasn't the hold up on me getting service I slid the menu to the corner of the table. Still no service. Finally after 7 minutes, the waiter came to take my order. He did apologize for the wait. I ordered two cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. It was okay. Yelpers get it right again. Pulled up at 6:30pm on a Friday and was told "20-25 minute wait". It was 18 minutes. Once inside server was quick to table and asking about pre-meal beverages. Drinks delivered quickly and orders taken. In the meantime, let's enjoy warm chips with refried beans and salsa. All were flavorful and nicely done. Orders taken included carne asada, fajitas, and cheese covered burrito. The food came out very quickly and was surprising considering a packed house. Asada and fajita beef both reported to be perfectly done but lacking seasoning. Cheese covering burrito was fantastic and refried beans a bit runny but full of flavor. This is the place to go for Tex Mex food. My entire group left feeling filled and extremely satisfied. The micheladas were fantastic, the horchata was authentic, and the cuisine was great. I enjoyed the burrito I ordered, which came with cheese and green sauce. We also got the mocajete, which was fantastic and fresh. The enchiladas were mouthwatering. I have come back to this place after 2 visits that were questionable. I've been coming here for years and never had a problem till last fall. Well everything is back to the old delicious food. As you walk into El Paso Mexican Restaurant, it looks every inviting. Full of people, colourful, and a solid bar filled with what I am assuming good drinks. We started off with a round of waters, and were quickly greeted with 2 baskets of warm tortilla chips [there's nothing like getting warm tortilla chips]. The chips were accompanied by their fresh red salsa, chorizo dip, casó and bean dip. The appetizers were delicious! I couldn't stop eating chips and dips because they were so addicting. The spice from the green sauce makes you keep going back for more, and the freshness of everything was top notch. I may or not be drooling just thinking about this. For my entree, I tried their Pollo al Carbón [translation: Chicken cooked on charcoal]. Everything came out perfectly! When you order Pollo al Carbón, you are getting One grilled chicken breast cooked with special carbon sauce. Served with rice, beans, one grilled cactus, guacamole special and two tortillas. I topped my meal with natural pineapple juice. If you have never eaten a cactus before ... all I can say it tasted good. It was my first time eating cactus. I am  still blown away by how much this place exceeded our expectations when it comes to authentic Mexican cuisine. From the outside, this restaurant looks like it's nothing special but once you eat this food, you'll know exactly how special this place really is.
