They brought chips and salsa as well as a bean/cheese dip that was very tasty. We split the Santa Fe Chicken - grilled breast with sautéed peppers, onions, mushrooms and tomatoes covered in cheese sauce. Rice and beans also came with the dish. First time trying Mi Toro, about a week ago. Typical Mexican restaurant with booth and table seating; seems like an older building. They have several TVs around the restaurant, and was showing the World Cup and news at the time. They weren't very busy at lunchtime. We were seated immediately and received their complementary chips, salsa and a cheese/bean dip combo. After that the service got slow. It took a while for our server to come, he took our drink orders and when he returned one was wrong. Then he didn't return for a while to take our food order. Maybe he was preoccupied with the World Cup? Once we received our food the dishes were very good, but not great. Typical food flavors that most Mexican restaurants have. However, the portions were very large. Note that they don't offer the lunch menu on weekends, so you have to order dinner-sized portions. The chicken and steak fajitas were good and I certainly didn't leave hungry. It came with rice and beans, which were as usual at most Mex. restaurants. The wife enjoyed her beef, chicken and bean enchilada supreme meal, but the cheese enchilada wasn't good. The enchilada sauce was good but not great. The short story is the ambience was average, the service was hit or miss, the food was good but not great, and the dinner portion sizes are large. We may visit again sometime but aren't in any rush. It would be nice if they offered the lunch menu on weekends during lunch hours. read more

Keep it simple. Great quac topped with pico. À la cart is a good way to have a relleno and a taco. But don't go for all the cheese goop, sides and huge platters. The service was great and ambiance typical. read more

The menu can be a bit overwhelming, but our waitress was patient with us. We got complimentary chips and salsa and a queso/bean dip mixture that was very good. We ended up eating almost all of it before our meal came. I got the sopes, I didn't realize how big they'd be! I got 3 steak sopes, they were delicious. The shell was very nicely made, slightly chewy and good flavor. My wife got the el pastor taco and a chimichanga. She liked the taco more but gave them both a 3.5/5. Huge portions were nice, we'll have extra for tomorrow! Ambiance was OK, nothing too remarkable. Overall, a decent Mexican restaurant, and I would go again, but there are quite a few other Mexican restaurants in the area that are worth a try. read more

He was looking around out the window while taking the order like he'd rather be somewhere else. Mine came to the table wrong & he told me that's how it comes & I said not according to your menu that I ordered by. Then I seen him grabbing limes for the table beside us with his bare dirty hands. I'm tempted to go down to 3 stars, but I'll grade on a little bit of a curve because, let's call a spade a spade here, Morristown isn't exactly a foodie mecca. I am here on a work trip and stopped in at the recommendation of a local colleague. I'll say this: it didn't disappoint. They brought out the chips and salsa almost as soon as I sat down. The chips were standard and the salsa was quite good, though perhaps a little heavy on the garlic for my liking. They also brought out a white queso and refried bean sauce mixture to dip. While I'm not a refried bean fan, it was actually rather delicious and bonus points for my first time getting that anywhere ever. For a drink, I opted for a medium peach margarita on the rocks because it was $1 off and $7 total. Now, when you think medium, what is your thought? Well, you're probably wrong here because this thing was literally a full quart and not even watered down with much ice. One of these and I was good for the rest of the night. Tasted good too! (See my photo for reference) As an entree, I also went with the colleague-recommended Pollo California. It came out in 5-10 minutes, so I'm sure it's not the freshest ingredients out there, but at least it was convenient. It comes out on a huge plate with a sand castle-like pile of rice in the middle, surrounded by chicken and veggies on top of a white cheese sauce. It looks like more food than it really is, but it's definitely getting plenty of bang for your buck. Rice was a little dry and could've used more spice and/or flavor, but still pretty solid. Service was excellent and they made sure I was taken care of every step of the way without making me feel rushed. All in all, a very pleasant, local feeling experience and some place I would probably come back to again. Might not be as good as your favorite local Mexican joint if you're an out of towner, but it'll definitely do nicely! read more

My cousin and I stopped in here today for lunch. The menu is broad and varied with lots of choices including vegetarian options. The food was delicious, and our meals came out quickly. The ambiance is casual (I noticed two tvs with football games on) and the restaurant was sparkling clean, including the restroom. Also, the service was wonderful: my cousin has a food allergy and our waiter, Cesar, was absolutely fantastic. While the menu is your typical American/Mexican fare they have items on the menu that you would find in a real Mexican household as well like chorizo con huevos.
