Really cool spot! Sitting at the bar is great and the wine roulette is fun on Wednesdays. The service is great, seems like everyone there is happy to be there and chat about food&wine with customers! The staff was wonderful. The parking is in the back with 5 spots so that worked out nicely. The area is a bit industrial and run down in some spots so I would try to stay parked quite close to the restaurant if possible. Would love to try the oysters next time!! read more

I enjoy the interior of this bar and think the decorations and signage are very cute. The bartenders are also very attentive and helpful when ordering drinks. I enjoy some of their wine selections but am not much of a fan of their cocktail options. Stopped in with my girl friend on a Sunday night. It's a little "hole in the wall" spot with limited parking but it was nice and cozy inside! Dark, red lighting and a couple of tables and full circumference bar seating. We sat at the bar and our bartenders were very friendly, helpful and attentive--even when they got very busy! The menu was "fancy" and we had tons of questions. I narrowed my drink selection down to 5 lol and my bartenders really explained them out to me--I went with the Despicable and Goldilocks. She was spot on with their descriptions. The despicable was good but a little too sweet for me and the Goldilocks was very strong. We ordered a smorgasbord of food--we ordered a meat and cheese from their charcuterie menu--I probably will pass on that in the future. Their oysters were split up as east coast and west coast--which was new for me. I preferred the east coast surprisingly. We got the octopus--which was good but the octopus was sparing and tough, the potatoes were good though. The bread and butter was good. We tired all three butters and hands down the miso was my favorite! We finished our night with the fig bread pudding. That was delicious and the chunks of fig were amazing. read more

I showed up at 9:30 on a Friday night to a full restaurant to meet my friends. When I saw them, 3 feet away from them I said "Hey!" excitedly and a nasty server was able to shush be before I could get my single syllable word out. I ended up being told "shut the fuck up" by the bartender after laughing at a joke moments later and felt so uncomfortable I left. This establishment was a quaint local place. At first glance, the place seemed small but it's intentionally cozy. I was recommended this place by a friend for the wine so I had the Bordeaux rogue and they gave me a good pour. They don't make the wine themselves but they offer plenty of international selections! I got a couple cocktails and tried their appetizers and charcuterie options, which were both well priced. They mentioned that they have collaboration events sporadically from month to month and I would definitely like to go back for one. Came here with a friend for a pre-dinner glass of wine and loved it! The ambiance almost feels dive bar esque with the decor, stringed lights, and entry through the back, but the wine and food menu is definitely elevated. It's a great combo. This place just gives off comfortably and effortlessly cool vibes. We got a couple of glasses of an orange wine, which was delicious. I love getting orange wine when I see it on menus, as it's not that common! Also shared some marinated olives to snack on with our wine, and they might've been the tastiest marinated olives I've ever had. read more

Silver Slipper is a welcome newcomer to Southpark, a wine bar with small plates known especially for serving up fresh oysters and Miller Lite... but sadly the day I first visited there was a Norovirus outbreak on the west coast, so no oysters this time! I appreciate that they just didn't serve them; safety first! And it means I got to try more small plates, and will have to return sooner than later. We tried the smoked salmon which was amazing; capers, jalapeño, lemon, red onion, and crème frâiche as well as the lil devils bacon wrapped chorizo stuffed pepper sauces dates Washed it down with a Blatz and a French cider. Adorable little old renovated house with a killer custom bar, an awesome artpiece installation, and possibly the best bathrooms in Dayton. Park in the back and come on in to enjoy the good vibes and friendly faces. read more

Cute hidden gem of Dayton. I wouldn't say the food is quite worth the cost, but the flavors were decent. Our bread and butter plate was fine, nothing spectacular. And it seems like we got the remnants of a loaf as the slices on the two neighboring tables were much more substantial. The cashew nam prik was nice and creamy. The pork belly was seasoned very well and tender. We took a cookie to go and it was solid, had a nice chew to it. The wine was excellent. Parking on the street was easy on a late Saturday night. We ate outside which was nice, but the inside was very loud, so be prepared for that! read more

This is THE hidden gem of downtown Dayton. Brock is one of the best bartenders in Dayton and the wine selection is excellent. I love the drinks there but the oysters are the best in Dayton. There is a different selection every time I go and have never been disappointed. The kitchen is small and mostly small bites, the olives are to delicious! This is a place to find, because it is not easy to find, but so worth it when you do! Seating is very limited, check for their hours as they are not open every day. I was in Dayton to visit friends and family. The host of my nearby AirBnb recommended I try this place out and I'm so glad she did. The restored old home is quaint and cozy. The staff was extremely welcoming and helped me choose a wine. I also had the chef's recommended cheese. A good-sized serving and baguette slices with it. The cheese was delicious and paired well with the wine. Highly recommend for a chill evening as a couple, first date, solo or with a small group. So happy I found this hidden gem! read more

Pros: The vibe here is really cool. The bar is a unique triangle shape, the walls are brick that are accented by really unique art pieces. All the staff were extremely friendly and so helpful. If you're unsure of which wine they will give you samples or help you pair wine with what food you have ordered Oysters. I'm from the southern coast so when Midwest restaurants say they serve sea food I'm immediately suspicious. But the oyster were very good and really fresh Cons: Really loud. Because the walls are brick the sounds doesn't absorb so we found ourselves shouting. Not just speaking loudly but literally shouting lol. The vibe is so relaxing and cozy so the shouting kinda of cheapens the experience. Wine. Maybe I'm just not great at choose wines. I had 3 different types and they all tasted a big cheap to me. Very tangy and acidic. But again that could just be my preference or lack of knowledge Food. The flavors were almost there but just off by one sliver. The charcuterie I ordered was goat cheese and Prosciutto. The goat cheese had raisins on top which would have actually been such a unique offset from the traditional honey that lost charcuterie boards have. Except that the raisins were coated in what tasted like turmeric. once again, I could just been an idiot and don't know how to order things but I really didn't love it. read more
