I ordered via Grubhub. I ordered ribeye fajitas. I explicitly typed in all caps TOMATO ALLERGY. and asked for no tomatoes in the fajitas and no pico on the salad. The item arrived as a whole ribeye steak WITH TOMATOES. The salad had pico on it. I got a refund from Grubhub, but I called the manager to let him know that my problem was not solved. My husband had an entire meal he could not eat a bite of and now had to go to the time and effort of finding something else. Instead of acknowledging the issue, the manager questioned the order. At that point I decided I wouldn't return. If you can't accommodate common food allergies and show no empathy or consideration for those who suffer from them, I'll go without your food. read more

Outstanding!! Great service, great food, great prices! Huge menu both for food and drinks-- highly recommend the mojito or the strawberry daiquiri. Fun glasses and island vibe! Chips are standard, salsa though is more marinara tasting...but if you can get the red salsa that comes with the tacos, now that is good. Refried beans are amazing. Probably the best I've ever had. Pollo poblano feels healthy and chicken was juicy. Frida bowl was large and very tasty. Corn tortillas are soft and fluffy so the street tacos are very good. We really loved our experience here. We were intrigued by that menu which is different than most Mexican restaurants in the area. We tried the Molcajete and coconut shrimp tacos. Usually the carry out meals are great. Saturday I ordered the seafood Chimichanga and it was delicious. However my wife and two guests each ordered separate meals with steak in them. I have never pounded to paper thin. Some bites were dry, some were just thin. For the price, I expected a real chicken breast. For the price, I can think of another place closer to home where I get two decent sized pieces in the same dish for the same price. Pico was good. Cheese was watery. My BFF and I stopped in for lunch the other day. She has visited this restaurant before, but it was a first for me. I was impressed with the cleanliness. The decor was bright and cheerful. We were seated at a booth in the bar area. The menu was large, offering many dishes I've never seen offered at other Mexican restaurants ... which was a bonus. Or server was polite and attentive. The chips and salsa were served with our beverages. Our entrees arrived in a timely manner. The food was very good and not greasy...which is a problem I have with some Mexican restaurants. We split a fried ice cream which was huge... But I didn't get a pic of it...which is a shame, because it was really colorful and fun. The prices are very reasonable. I'm looking forward to bringing my hubby. The only thing I found mildly unenjoyable was the music in the bar area was a bit loud for conversation. read more

I've tried to like this racist restaurant. The Classic Carnitas is really a good dish. It's the only thing I've ordered along with awesome margaritas. However whenever my husband and go there, they seat us by the front door, they stand over us at the host stand and rush our meal. Make us feel uncomfortable. This last night 2/28/25 the waiter started singing "Soul Man" because I ( a black woman) pulled out my card to treat my husband who is white. I'll never go back after that and I'm not sure that this will be the last of this. I want to be fair and don't like giving bad reviews, but it wouldn't be fair if I'm not honest. Ironic, isn't it? My friend wanted to do Mexican and Frida's was close. I was open to pretty much his suggestions since he's not a US local. The host took us to a table. He didn't even check to see if the seats were food-free or clean. I then told my friend, "Let's sit here, that seat is dirty." When the host came by with the menu, I said, we'll sit here, that seat is dirty. Oddly, he just said "OK," and went back to browsing on his phone after handing us the menus. I guess mama has him taken care for. (His demeanor had me suggested he's related to the owner.) I can't recall what I order (sorry I can't locate it on the menu here), being one of the more or most expensive on the menu, had to be decent. When the food came, I was shocked to see that it appeared a college student had cooked that up. Canned hot-dog and processed ham mixed up with some shrimp, other meat. This is what I got for ~$25 really? I like sour taste in general, but the sourness in this plate was awful. I couldn't finish it, leaving more than half as leftovers. Oh, the water is also tap, really bad tasting tap. No juice or bottled water, only soda and alcoholic drinks are available. You're out of luck if you don't drink either of them. This place is very small and we went with a party of 12 which was our mistake. We were told an hour wait with a party our size it is totally understandable. After a two hour wait my friend had to express his frustration to get us a table. Two of our friends had to sit totally away from us at another table. We asked for water three times and never received them. We ask for extra napkins they gave us five. The food came and my friend ask for two beef chimichangas and he got chicken which he totally hates. They remade his dinner he ask for no rice and no sour cream his remake came with both, keep in mind the rice is in a bowl but still wrong. I visited only 3 weeks after they opened. The host offered a very polite greeting, seated me quickly and soon thereafter a served arrived to take my drink order. They were busy so the quick attention was a nice surprise. My food arrived quickly and from the chatter overheard from the kitchen there were authentic chefs in the kitchen. Room for improvement. I ordered the coconut shrimp tacos. These were supposed to come with a pineapple pico and chipotle sauce. It came with normal pico and no sauce. But I will say the coconut shrimp tasted great. The black beans that came on the side were also tasty. It also came with a side of white rice with a few pieces of corn in it. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not. Margaritas were delicious and the chips and salsa did not disappoint. I'm from Texas, and I loved this place. The food was fresh and delicious, with interesting options for every Mexican food enthusiast. The margarita flight & the mojito flight (sold separately) were creative, beautifully presented, and darn tasty. I don't recommend getting both flights for two people unless you're experienced drinkers with another ride home, but so tasty! The decor was gorgeous and cohesive. Tasteless! I wanted to give this place at least three stars but I had to bump them down for service because while it was passable, friendly it was not. None of the staff said more than 10 words to us, not the hostess or the waitress. Nothing we tasted had any freshness, flavor or seasoning. The house chips and salsa, tasteless. Guacamole, bland. Fish tacos consisted of unbreaded, unseasoned slabs of whitefish covered in diced onion (and cilantro if you want, I opted without) and supposedly with lime, I didn't taste lime or anything else. The fish and onions were folded inside two soft/floppy corn shells. No sauce, no cheese, no seasoning. I couldn't salvage these with the house salsa since it was basically tasteless too. I had a "sour cream salad" which is just shredded lettuce, a slice each of tomato and cucumber and topped with sour cream, and a side of fries which were just the tiny nubs from the bottom of the bag served with three packets of "fancy ketchup." My husband had a combo of a chili Relleno, beef tipp enchilada and chicken burrito. His were luke warm, unseasoned and inedible (Relleno). His sides were the traditional Spanish rice and refried beans. The rice was orange and bland, the beans soupy. There were three bottles of commercial hot sauce on the table and now I know why. Super disappointed in this new local restaurant. read more

Our waiter came over to take our order - I requested a drink menu and a food menu. The lighting was incredibly bright. I felt like I was prepped for surgery. We ordered sushi and carnitas. Sushi was ok. The carnitas left a lot to be desired. Very dry and no flavor. So very disappointed. There's a lot of potential, but this place is trying to cater to older folks and young college kids with the music. Did love the music selection, however. Wish a 2.5 star review was possible as this place is very much average. For not being very busy when we first arrived, service was much slower than expected. Ordered the Pollo Mango - mistake. The chicken breast was super thin (maybe 1/8" thick) and the mango salsa was an overpowering, super-sweet syrup with chunks of mango that killed any chance of tasting any other flavor.
