The El Toro restaurant cartel operates three restaurants located in Sallisaw, Ft. Smith and Muldrow. I have dined at the Sallisaw location. The food there was fair except for the elastomer filling in the chili relleno. Check that review from August of 2023 to understand that comment. This location (Muldrow) I believe has better food. No chewy cheese on my plate today. Crisp chips, decent salsas. I had the # 1 combination dinner: a beef burrito, a taco and a chili relleno. I added a side of beans. My wife ordered the chilaquiles. The cocina opens to the dining area, so all of the great smells migrate. I could smell the chicken when the cook was making my wife's chilaquiles. The food is served fresh, hot, on hot plates as it should be. The chicken in the chilaquiles was flavorful and moist. A great plate of food. My beef burrito and taco were generously filled with well-seasoned ground beef. The relleno was filled with thoroughly melted cheese. Delicious queso covered the burrito and the relleno. The beans, perfect smooth and lightly seasoned. Even the rice was good! Very good service. Clean comfortable restaurant. A 4.5 star rating is fair for this El Toro restaurant. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. At my nephew's wedding in Muldrow, OK, the 'caterer' they hired, Maria's Haus (stay away), showed up 2 hrs late with cold pulled pork, cold green beans, and townhouse crackers, trying to charge us $800. Before they even got there my wife got on the phone and found the closet place to the venue, which thankfully ended up being El Toro. She called and they were able to make really great Mexican food in a HALF HOUR. We went and picked it up, got back, and everyone was super stoked. The food was excellent. We are from Northwest Arkansas and have MANY to choose from and hands down, y'all are the best! fajita taco salad so very good right down to the shell! hubs had fajita tacos, SO full of all the goodness and wrapped to keep hot(great touch) REALLY GREAT PRICES AS WELL! This place is the worst so-called Mexican food ever!!!!! Yesterday I got take out and got it home and the order was half done. I returned with the order the guy took it back. He returned with my full order and was charging me again. I said you are charging me again for something I already paid for. No Way! He said yes. i wanted a refund and he would only give me half of my money back. I said a year ago I said I wouldn't go back and now I'm definitely done with this place. Was passing through and decided to stop for lunch. The menu had a lot of items that sounded very tasty. I ordered the chili Colorado because it's the first time I've seen it on a menu here in Oklahoma. I was not disappointed. It was some of the best I have ever had. If you don't like spicy it won't be for you. If you like spicy you will love it. The flavor was so good. The rice and beans were great to. The portion was very large. The staff was very nice and kept coming around to make sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend this place if you like authentic Mexican food. read more

The hubby raves about the Muldrow location. His favorite dishes are the Pollo Juanita and the Steven Special. El Toro recently expanded to include a Sallisaw location.
