If you like Mexican food, here's your sign. The food here is phenomenal. Seasoned just right. Not too spicy or salty. Wifey had Fajitas Hidalgo: literally a pile of steak covered with bell pepper and onion smothered in cheese. A great Philly cheese steak with warm tortillas!! And it comes with a dinner size plate of rice. Beans, guacamole, pico. She stopped when she could not stuff any more into her face. About half way through! I had the seafood soup. Also way more than I expected. A pho-size bowl. The seafood was piled high, tilapia, scallops, mussels. The broth was amazing!! The chips and salsa were excellent, too!! I am not a food snob, but I know what we like...El Lorito fills the bill. The service was great--attentive, quick, friendly. Everything service should be. Ambience--no loud music, a large noisy group came in and were seated at the far end of the restaurant. You could the the screaming kids, the laughter, the conversations, but not hear it. It's a cute little Mexican cafe close to downtown ft smith. The waitress was friendly and the food was excellent.

I ordered the #1 Combo and my wife had the #14 Combo. Each dinner was to have a chile relleno, along with the other items. When the plates arrived the rellenos appear to be missing. Probing under the cheese, where you think you might find a relleno, your fork recovers beans and a table spoon sized bit of green. That's it. That's all. That's your chile relleno, Bud. The most pathetic excuse for a chile relleno I have ever experienced. A pile of beans, with a sliver of poblano pepper the size of a Band-Aid strip, all covered in cheese to hide the deception. This was not a mistake in the kitchen. I have now researched old reviews, confirming that this is the way they have been making them for years. You feel ripped off after you see what they give you. An authentic relleno it is not. A sham it is. There is no value in continuing with this review, the restaurant blew it with me..... When you can't provide quality food, cover it with cheese. From the start, I knew that it would be a great visit; the atmosphere was very inviting and calm. The staff surprised me with how fast the food was out. First the starter, then the meal, then the dessert. New drinks, chips, queso, and salsa were all out very quickly every time they were empty. The staff made us feel very welcome, and they made our business feel very appreciated. The prices were very reasonable for what you get. At first, I was weary, for the service was very quick. I thought that the service speed would take away from the quality and flavour of the food; I was wrong. The entire meal was delicious and very flavourful. This was my first time in Fort Smith and we decided to eat Mexican. The food was DELICIOUS! I ordered the Parrillada jalisco. It was well seasoned, the service was prompt and the server was very kind and attentive! My cousins ordered the chicken fajitas and they loved it! Their meat was well seasoned as well. They also had $1.99 Margaritas and I had the frozen peach. OMG they were delicious! The sopapillas were a hit too! I highly recommend this restaurant. I was very impressed! read more

I have always loved this place, great food and service, friendly staff and big portions. The prices are reasonable, big on flavour. We have eat here for several years and is one of my very favorite restaurants, which Fort Smith has SEVERAL to chose from. East side location is close to my house, only five minutes- thumbs up for living close. They have three locations to choose from, two in Fort Smith and one in Van Buren (Go Pointers!!!) great place off the beaten path. I had chile verde and it was excellent. Food is good, prices are great, staff is friendly. Margarita special was $2.99. We had a group of 7 with lots of different orders and everything came out perfect. They kept the chips coming and brought plenty of tortillas with the food. I wish I had taken a pic, one of the group got a plate that was several different kinds of meat with a skewer of shrimp standing in the middle. Not our favorite. Service was not real attentive even though things were slow. Seafood enchiladas were okay and beef flautas were mildly flavored. You have to ask for beans, which is unusual. Portions are not huge, but most restaurants serve too much anyway. Prices were good. read more

I had a Combination 19, which was an enchilada, chili relleno and taco. I added a side order of refried beans. My wife ordered two chicken enchiladas with verde sauce. Our meals were OK, but that's about all. Served warm, but not hot (Mexican food should be served hot). The enchilada were just tortillas with meat filling. Nothing else Inside. No seasoning or cheese. The waiter tried to tell me that the relleno was different, but I didn't understand him. It was different. A small square of pepper served on top of a bit of meat and covered with cheese sauce. One bite, essentially. To me a relleno is a poblano pepper stuffed with cheese and dipped in fluffy beaten egg white before being fried. The taco was ground beef with a bit of lettuce and cheese. Like the enchilada filling. it lacked even the flavor of a Taco Bell offering. They at least add tomato. My wife's chicken enchilada was the same. Good quality chicken breast meat wrapped up in a tortilla with little sauce. I was enjoying the Auburn/Florida football game on their overhead TV until a waiter came out and changed the channel to soccer. Then the whole staff came to watch. So overall, not what we are used to in Arizona. Maybe a four on a scale of 1-10. The beer was good but all they had was bottled. read more

We were in the last night/last part of a 2-week journey and we just couldn't go further without some TexMex. Even though it's in Fort Smith it is pretty close to TexMex fare in our Dallas area. We really enjoyed the deluxe Nachos and the chicken enchiladas verde. We also had the table side guacamole prepared very well by our server. The atmosphere is casual & friendly. Just what we needed before going back to our hotel to rest up for the next day's drive. Mexican food is very hard to rate and everyone likes something different, but we don't think you can go wrong here. It tasted fresh and not "canned" as some places do. The service was friendly. Prices are great and the helpings generous. What more could you ask for? read more
