Is it Chinexacan or Mexinese? Cazadores "Hunters." That explains the deer picture on their menus. The food was good, but in some ways strange for Mexican food. Unfortunately, you will have to read this review to find out why I say that. Salsa and Chips- Basically a tomato salsa, heavy with garlic and maybe some other spice. They serve queso with the chips and it is good. Nice..... The hot salsa, spicy with fresh chopped jalapeños, however in the background were red chili pepper flakes and a trace of vinegar taste, as in Chinese chili paste, (e.g. Sambal Oelek Chili Paste) My wife went with the Chili rellenos and I had the Pollo ala Diabla. (One of my favorites). The rellenos were very good, big; filled with seasoned ground beef and an excellent light egg batter crust. Now the Pollo ala Diabla So, it comes out in an aluminum foil pouch which was vaguely formed to look like a chicken. Does that remind you of something? Humm.... for me a Chinese restaurant. My wife immediately commented that she smelled an aroma coming from my plate she didn't care for. (She is not a big fan of vinegary foods.) Yeah, it did...Well there it was again the vinegary Chinese chili paste. It was used to provide the heat in the Pollo ala Diabla. Now, nowhere, here have I said the food was bad; we cleaned our plates. It is that using Chinese chili paste instead of traditional chili peppers makes for a weird experience in Mexican food. Having plumbing problems, well $h!T happens ...understandable. My wife reported that there was a sign in the women's restroom that read "do not flush toilet paper down the toilet!!" But what the heck are you supposed to do with the TP take it home with you! Also, there was just barely enough water flow from the faucet to wash your hands. I could have stretched the rating a little and gave them a four star, but because of the bathroom problem, and the strange use of Chinese chili paste they are just barely a three. I have to laugh thinking about this. I can't wait until some "Mexican food expert" from CA pulls off I-40 and eats here and then writes a review.

While on a business trip in Sallisaw, my friend who lives in Sallisaw suggested we have lunch at Cazadoresa, it's one of her favorite Mexican restaurants. Cazadores was packed with customers and we were greeted and seated as soon as we walk in. We were served complementary chips, very mild salsa and queso. The lunch special I ordered was the beef (cubed roast beef ) Chili Relleno, refried beans and Mexican rice, My friend ordered the Chicken Quesadilla with refried bean and Mexican rice. My Chile Relleno was a Poblano pepper stuffed with cubed roast beef and cheddar cheese, lightly battered and fried a golden brown, topped with a very mild rancho sauce - very tasty. The refried beans were topped with cheddar cheese - very tasty and I did like their Mexican rice - very authentic, reminded me of Tiajuna, Mexico. My friend enjoyed her Chicken Quesadillas; which was a grilled flour tortillas filled with chicken, cheddar cheese, served with sour cream guacamole, refried beans and rice. Their lunch special are served from 11am to 3pm Monday - Friday, starting at $6.95 to $8.45. They also serve domestics and 3 import beers. Friendly service and ample parking.
