This place was highly recommended by several friends, it wasn't hard to find as it's right on the corner and had a bunch of people standing outside. It's a really nice touch that a casual spot has tables for patrons. The server immediately greeted me and took my order. I got al pastor tacos and a horchata which took a little while but they were busy. They definitely give generous portions of meat, and I wanted to love it but I only liked it. It was a little on the dry side and not super flavorful. The horchata was good though and perfect to wash down the meal with. Service was great but sadly the tacos fell a little short.
Far by the best al pastor in town!! I recommend everything on the menu!! The sausage that they produce you with is also delicious. Service: was quick and attentive!! Ambiance: very chilled. They converted a car shop into a restaurant which I think is pretty cool.
Really massive portion. You'll be really full after. The tacos themselves were decent but I found them a bit bland except the chorizo which was really flavorful.

Turns out that there is no need to wait in line. You just flag down one of the many waitstaff roaming around and place your order. In short: the pastor was just super dry and much too lean for me. Just really mediocre flavors as well. If you order everything on your taco, you get a mild salsa, cilantro, onions and some bits of pineapple. Unfortunately, those toppings and additional spoonfuls of salsa couldn't save it. Tortilla was nondescript, too. Just overall a boring taco that doesn't warrant all this attention.
Tacos El Visitó, what can I say, probably the best I had while being in Mexico City. The spot is in the same building as a mechanic shop. But the food that comes out of here is well thought out, deliciously seasoned, and hands down legit ! The tacos are hearty but make sure you order all at once and quickly because the table service here is efficient and very fast paced. I ordered the specialty taco al pastor, and a gringa de pastor. I also ventured to try some other meats. Now, the pastor is some of the best I have had hands down, and for sure when I return to Mexico City this will be the first spot I go to ! I can see why the spot is busy, it's delicious !
Very bustling area and the restaurant itself is full of people. Everything here is great- servers are quick and move fast. The tacos here are also excellent- flavorful and awesome.
4 tacos, a gringa, and 2 cokes for $12 USD! Not only was this place dirt cheap, it was by far my favorite place I have tried when I was in CDMX. This was the first spot we ate at once we landed in Mexico City. This spot was highlighted on the popular tacos Netflix show. It's a car mechanic business by day and a taco spot by night. We were recommended this place by our Uber driver as well. Everyone says to get the gringa but I was not a fan at all. I just didn't like the cheese that was on it. I recommend the simple al pastor tacos. The al pastor is cut perfectly thin to the point where the edges are perfectly crispy. I've never had anything comparable in LA and I will forever dream of this place whenever I get tacos. The cokes are on the smaller side and more expensive than the tacos itself but Mexican bottled coke is the best! This place gets packed and you'll be lucky to find a seat. They had 3 spits going on when we were there and service was quick. They take all forms of card here including discover! That's rare in Mexico, since it's always visa that they take. I'll be recommending this spot to everyone who asks me. Although it is out of the way to main attractions, there are a plethora of other taco spots in the area and you can make a taco tour out of this area.
If you visit CDMX for a week or even if you have a layover for couple of hours... make a stop here! Obviously the choice of meat here is AL PASTOR! You will not be disappointed and wished you can eat 6 more! Of course the pineapple is what makes it and gives it the best taste into their tacos. You're not a fan of Al Pastor... the second choice of meat would be Bistek A.K.A. Carne Asada. A Gringa will likely be the best choice with this meat. Two flour tortillas, Carne Asada and with a thick blanket of cheese!
One of the best el pastor tacos in Mexico City! Come here to experience a steady mix of locals and tourists side-by-side chowing down on tacos. Though there are gonna be a lot of people, the service is pretty fast and efficient. Because they're so popular, the tacos are gonna be fresh - no stale old trompos here. Do note that the toppings are in communal bowls, so if you're seated at one of the tables, get comfortable with people reaching over you to grab salsa or a lime. A bit out of the way, but every bit worth the Uber trip over. And they take credit card!

We kinda stood around looking at the menu until room opened up at one of the standing tables. After a minute or so, a server came over and took our order. The meat was somehow juicy and nicely roasted at the same time. Don't forget the lime and salsas they have at the tables. I was obsessed with trying to eat here during the planning stages of our trip, and I didn't get to eat here until our last night in Mexico City. I saw El Vilsito featured on some dude's random youtube channel about Mexico City. I was scared I was hyping it up too much in my mind, but I thoroughly enjoyed these tacos. I only wish I had more room to try several different items.

The experience was very unique, a car grge during the day and a taco stand at night, pretty clever for the ownerof the building since he is collecting rent 2 ways, or at least that is the assumption. Back the food. We were there Saturday night for dinner, we arrived at 6:30pm, the parking lot was full, good for us that we took a Uber to be worry free. We got a table right in front of the Al Pastor chef, who is continuously fighting the fire breathing dragon while he is roasting the meat on the trompo. Server took our order, we order the following: 4 al pastor 4 steak 2 taco volcan 1 skirt steak taco 1 Gringa al pastor On the table tou find 3 sauces, smoky chipotle, tomato and avocado sauce and the habanero sauce-careful thats the orange color sauce. That stuff pcka heat and spice! We definitely had a taco feast. All the tacos were very tasty, each taco is customized once you add the sauces, and the tacos that have cheese, they are pretty cheesy-no joke. Purposely we left space for dessert but not from the taqueria. Early on the day we had visited meecado san juan and we bought fruit- we wanted something different. Unfortunately the waitress forgot our Horchata and the agua de Jamaica. We were so excited over the food, we just drank water. The bad thing about this place is that too many beggars come to your table, and they kind of sneak up adults and kids- very annoying. read more
I would give this a 5/5 if it wasn't for the disgusting piece of hair my boyfriend found in his taco. BUT honestly these tacos were so good, I'd still go back LOL (it also helps it wasn't my taco where we found hair..) One of the best tacos I've ever had in my entire life. The horchata was also really yummy. Food came out pretty quickly even though they were so busy. Recommend for sure! Just make sure your taco doesn't have hair... but maybe you'll think the taco is so good, you won't even mind lol. read more

Hands down, the most amazing taco shop you'll ever visit. During the day, this place functions as an auto shop. After hours, it's a culinary heaven. It was super busy around 1am but we managed to find a table right away. The service is so professional and efficient, the moment they realized we were English speakers, they called over a staffer that could help us with our order. Their Al pastor tacos were the best I've ever had, with fresh grilled pineapples! Also, make sure you try the gringa! Bottom line, this is a MUST try if visiting CDMX! read more
El Visito is simply put the BEST TACOS YOU WILL EVER EAT. Ok so this place is a auto repair shop during the day that turns into an Epic Taco Spot after that. They used to open at 8pm but luckily now they are open much earlier at 2pm. This place is the real, real deal. Nothing fancy just Amazing Gringas and el Pastor Tacos served hot and fast and cooked and prepared to perfection. The staff is super friendly, the prices very reasonable and the portion on the Gringa is amazing. A Gringa is an el Pastor taco that is much bigger (tons of meat) on a flour tortilla with cheese. I would say one Gringa here equals about 3-4 tacos at Visilito and it taste even better than the tacos el pastor. I would say 2 Gringas is the way to go and will fill almost anyone up. If you have a smaller stomach or are not sure start with one. The food comes out fast and you can always order more. You dont pay until the end anyways. I have been here twice and plan on going again tommorow on my last day in Mexico City as my farewell meal. Yes the tacos are that good. Everyone that I have gone here with agrees no other gringas and/or el pastor tacos are even close to this place. These are the final level, life changing tacos you have been looking for. So figure out a way to get here, bring your loose pants and be ready to have your socks knocked off. The only bad thing is once you have eaten these tacos no other tacos will ever compare. But it's more than worth it. It's up there as one of my favorite dinning experiences I have ever had. Trust this gringo and stop thinking about it and get here as soon as you can. You will definitely not regret it. read more

Everything about El Vilsito is an experience. You roll up to people and tacos everywhere, which is more of a dream. I wish I tried more but settled with 4 pastor tacos. I'm big on the crunch with the pastor and I think the quickness of getting these bad boys in my hands, the ambiance and the crunch, I was all about it. I would come back and try other forms of goodness, but this place hits and I loved it. read more
Car wash by day, amazing taqueria by night! It opens up at 8pm, so we had to time our meals so we could wait for a later dinner. We showed up, we were immediately asked what we'd like- which it seems super hectic with so much going on but the customer service is amazing. We ordered a few al pastor tacos because that's what they are known for and we were advised by a food blogger to try the gringa taco (made with a flour taco, lots of cheese and the size of four tacos). The food came out very fast, we were able to find a seat, fresh limes and salsa were brought to us, we were eating in no time! The food was amazing! Everything had great flavor, the salsas had a good level of heat, and the meat was very tender and left an amazing aftertaste. Our waiter checked in on us at the perfect time when we wanted to order a few more tacos! Overall, it was a fun experience and I definitely want to go back. read more
I didn't realize this at the time, but this restaurant is a "pop up" shop that only occurs in the evening after the car wash shuts down. The pork carnitas have a flame-roasted taste that I have not been able to find anywhere in the states (or atleast very easily). They also come in small street taco size, so it's easy to get more than one to try. The menu is extensive and written on a long board toward the store front. It can feel a little overwhelming at first since there's so many people standing around and you don't know where to start. But, it's worth it! Jump in and try what everyone else is having. To order, stop a runner and tell them what you want. You can hang out at a standing table or just eat right there, standing in the sidewalk. There's a communal cart with limes and salsa. read more

5/5 for sure! Food was great and the service is fast. This is a must visit spot if you're in the area! Area of growth: We asked for a to go container but the lady gave an attitude and made it difficult to get some sort of to go box. So she gave us a paper plate Any who I still have it a 5 because it's not fair that her attitude would drop a star. She's not worth any star but the food and everyone else here deserve a million stars! read more

This emblematic taco business rose it's peak moment of fame when it appeared in Netflix's original series "Las Crónicas del Taco". Pretty much every taco on the menu is a solid option, but pretty much average; in my opinion the star are the volcanoes (volcanes) extra points if you ask for them campechanos (beef and pastor combined). Fun part is that you get to order on your car or standing in the street, fortunately this place seems to not been affected so hard by sanitary restrictions due the fact that you get your food served in your car. During this pandemic going to hace dinner there can make you forgive for half an hour that we're in a lockdown. read more

Best pastor tacos I've had! Stopped by on a Friday and place was PACKED! Be prepared to eat standing because there's not too many places to sit. Service was super fast since there's plenty of waiters walking around asking if you want more. I believe this place only opens at night since it's a auto shop during the day! Beware if you're scared of germs - salsas are self serve so you will be touching a spoon touched by many read more

This place is fantastic. If you are coming from outside Mexico, this is quite an experience I highly recommend. When you get here, go to one of the vertical fire spits. Get close to an employee, then order your food. They will bring it to you. When you are done eating, ask your attendee for your Bill to pay. They accept credit cards. The al Pastor tacos are a must. My wife love the steak taco. The Vulcan Charro is tasty. It's charred cheese on a tostada with beans. You can ask with meat. Happy eating folks! read more
It had to have been fate. We wanted to visit as many places that were featured on the Mexico City episode of Somebody Feed Phil and Taco Chronicles that we could while in Mexico City. Our first night in Benito Juarez, we walked a block to El Vilsito from our Airbnb and devoured some of the most delicious tacos. Little did we realize, this spot was recently featured on the Netflix series, Taco Chronicles. We actually didn't realize it until we re-watched the episode while trying to figure out the rest of our itinerary. This popular spot goes from an auto shop during the day to a bustling taqueria at night. It opens at 8pm, and is perfect as a quick dinner option or even a snack after having some beers with friends. Considering it's within walking distance of where we are staying, will definitely be visiting again before we leave. read more

This place is down the street from Tony's tacos, but is famous for its fantastic Al Pastor taco. The meat, which is a little crispy, sliced thin, spicy & sweet from the pineapple is very very good. This place adds the toppings for you. I much prefer adding my own, but it did not detract from the goodness of these tacos. Lots more items on the menu that I will definitely try next time I'm in this wonderful city! read more

This may be the first 5-star rating I've given but it's with good reason. This is the best Al Pastor taco I've ever had, full stop. The massive vertical spits are a tell-tale sign. These guys plan to sell a lot of tacos and they do. Not only is the food amazing but so is the experience. Walk up to a spit and flag down a worker to order or flag down a worker from your vehicle to get a "drive-in" spot. This is next level Al Pastor and anyone who thinks they like Al Pastor should eat here. End of story. read more

What an establishment! Car mechanic by day and taco restaurant by night. El Vilsito is serving up some delicious al pastor tacos. Grilled pineapple and al pastor should always be a thing. Salty explosive flavors paired with the sweet grilled pineapple. Incredible! We ordered the gringo taco, al pastor with the delicious grilled pineapple and cheese all on a flour tortilla. The tacos are filled to the max. Wash it all down with some refreshing and cold hibiscus tea. Excellent dining experience. I definitely recommend this place! The dining area is a small open space at the corner of the road. Staff are friendly. Food is served very quickly. read more
