My experience is limited to one event in one meeting room. This is an old facility that had been…read moremaintained very well. The decor and restrooms were modern, clean and well cared for. There are a lot of rooms so it can be confusing where to go when you get there. There is a self service cost room that is very spacious. Our meeting room was nice and had a self contained bar. Everything here, again, was modern and professional. The red wines served were very good - for a house wine. Some variety in choices and flavors. This event served appetizers. One of their specialties is walleye fingers. These were nicely done. No fish taste and the tarter sauce was very good. A self serve bruschetta was good as were the chicken wanton wrapper items. If you get an invitation to visit...go band enjoy.

Our son's wedding was held at PVCC the end of November. We hosted a "Night Before" Open House for…read morefamily and friends in their Valley Room overlooking the golf course. The event coordinator was excellent offering suggestions and options during planning, but then was attentive to so many details as the date drew near. Everything unfolded without a hitch. We opted for a cash bar, pizza and ice cream. Our guests were delighted with the various pizza options all made there. The chef even proved a beautiful and most delectable gluten, dairy, soy, and egg free for two of our guests. We had an area for mothers of infants and toddlers as well as an area to enjoy the warmth of a big beautiful fireplace which our southern guests especially appreciated. Truly everyone seemed to have a wonderful time. We can wholeheartedly recommend PVCC's food, beverage and atmosphere all of which reflect a cordial staff. The seasonal decorations throughout the building added to the festivities!

We were looking for a new place to eat, and we read that there was a restaurant here. When we got…read morethere, we were informed the restaurant had closed 3 years ago, but the former president of the country club, Al Harker, gave us suggestions of other nearby restaurants. Then, he chatted us up and suggested we try a free 18 holes of golf and think about joining the country club. Mr. Harker is a great pitchman. We took him up on his offer and came the next weekend and played 18 holes. We were sold by the 5th hole. The first few holes are gorgeous, as they are on a peninsula surrounded by Lake Shafer and expensive homes. The last 9 holes are long, across the street and also fun to play. This is the nicest golf course in Monticello, and I imagine in and around this area. The membership for people under 40 is only $450.00. When you play, it's only $8 for 9 holes or $16.00 for 18 holes with a golf cart. When the kids at the clubhouse see your car approach, they bring a golf cart to you. Now that's service. The PGA pro, Jim, runs the golf shop and gives lessons. He's also very, very nice. The bartender, Angel, is friendly and will tell you lots of interesting things going on in and around town. We've had our vacation home for 3.5 years, and sadly, we've found the locals in Monticello to be less than friendly, and our neighbors have got to be the most suspicious, unfriendly folks around, but the members at this country club are very welcoming and wave when they see you. The minus one star is for the fact that the country club has no permanent restaurant. The Riverside Restaurant grills from Wednesday to Saturday from 11:00 am to 2:00 p.m, and the country clubs offers hot dogs, brats and some fried appetizers. The shop sells soda, candy bars, jerky and potato chips. My biggest gripe though is how gross the bathrooms on the course are. No one has ever cleaned them in years so they are completely unusable, especially for women.

My husband and I went over the July 2026 holiday on a Thursday night for dinner. We were really…read morelooking forward to having dinner at the Country Club since it was our anniversary and we had never been to the Country Club. The waitress was average, could have been better, took a little longer then we thought to bring us our drinks ( which mine was completely wrong) and appetizers. The busboy on the other hand was horrible. He came out with our food ( which took about an hour) and ended up giving it to the wrong table. My husband tried to tell him that was our food but he completely ignored my husband and took part of our meal back to the kitchen. At this point we decided not to wait another hour for our dinner, paid for what we actually received and decided we will never return. If you are looking for a relaxing dinner without any hiccups and not too long of a wait I wouldn't recommend this place. A few places I would recommend, Oak & Barrel, Riverside Restaurant & Lounge and Anglers Restaurant, we have never had an issue.
