This will be my second review about Walmart Vision Center in Cheyenne, WY. This is Dr. Donald Burritt's office. I want to thank him publicly for his kindness, generosity and immediate personal attention and response to my situationf. 20 days ago I had a humiliating experience at this office by appt by the employees there and vowed to tell everyone with 1 eye and 1 ear, including the doctor (who wasn't there that day.) Read my first review..after that experience within the hour I posted on Yelp and emailed my absolute disgust and disdain to Walmart. I googled all over the internet for a contact to reach Dr. Burritt. I found his email. I emailed the doctor and told him about the humiliating appt. Within 24 hours, the doctor himself emailed me, with a sincere apology, said he would address the matter with the employees and he extended a free courtesy to me, that I accepted. The reason for this 2nd review is because of the 2nd experience during this appt. When I went to my appt 5 days ago, different friendly staff members were there (Holly and Nancy). I came 45 minutes early. I was greeted timely and properly. These ladies were busy with other customers but when someone would come by, one or the other would address the waiting customer with a smile and advised the customer that someone or they themselves would be right with them and they were, each time for each customer. Each lady was friendly, sociable and a pleasure to be around. I had forgotten I had been here before. When the doctor finished his appt before me, he greeted me with a handshake and escorted me to the exam room. Dr. Donald Burritt has an extremely kind disposition. His voice was very soothing and confident as he lead me through the exam, explaining very clearly what he was doing, why and for what purpose each test was for. I absolutely had no need for a followup question because he was so concise and clear about his guidance throughout the actual exam. When the exam was over, before we exited the exam room, he took a moment to apologize for my humiliating experience before and he thanked me for coming back again. I was brought to tears. I didn't expect him to say the things that he did. When I contacted him I only wanted him to know about that horrible appt. I didn't ask for anything, including a response. I truly appreciated his immediate response and his offering me a free courtesy. (If you are asking what free courtesy, let me tell you, that is not important, it was very generous and greatly appreciated.) The point is I only contacted him to inform him of such a humiliating experience that I was so pissed off I wanted to tell everyone. Well on that same notion, my 2nd appt with different staff and Dr. Donald Burritt was handled so friendly and particularly his kind, clear and concise educated professional guidance throughout the entire exam has made me FEEL a 180 degree turn... and I must compliment Nancy, Holly and most of all Dr. Donald Burritt...I look forward to my next appointment with him and EVERYONE should stop by or make an appt at the Walmart Vision Center and meet Dr. Donald Burritt, himself, and I know you will agree with this review. Since then I have been back 4 times! They have remade the lenses 3 times and still I am having headaches and dizziness from the glasses! I've been wearing eye glasses for 35 years and never had this kind of problem before! The last measurements were done by the doctor herself, which addressed a concern I had with the original measurements being done by the technicians. The glasses get better with each iteration, but 4 times??? Really guys??? It's been 4 months now and no solution. I've already paid them $1000 dollars so going somewhere else is not an option.. While I understand that it's our responsibility to keep track of appointments, most clinics do provide a courtesy reminder, and we've relied on those in the past. It was disappointing not to get that extra heads-up, especially when it's for something important like my child's health. I hope the clinic can improve their communication or reminder system in the future to help avoid situations like this. We do appreciate the care they've provided in the past and hope to continue with them, just with a little more consistency on reminders. This was just upsetting because we have had to reschedule appointments twice
