The location is an amazing and super versatile warehouse that could fit any size of productions and projects; from narratives, music videos, documentaries, commercials, etc., and the fact the owners have equipment available for rent is a huge plus. Leila was the most helpful and understanding location owner I've worked with, and although we were a small production for a film school project she understood where we were coming from and helped us in innumerable and tremendous ways before, during, and after the production. The only (and minor) flaw could be parking, but street parking is usually available plus the option of renting the side parking from the location itself. Again, it's not a huge deal-breaker considering all the other amenities that are offered to you. read more

Recently shot a short film here for a weekend. Not only are the spaces graphic and beautiful, but the hosts, Leila and Jen, are extremely attentive and helpful with your needs on set. Though we brought most of our gear, the place offers everything you might need on site, which is great. If you have a shoot and are thinking about checking out Electric Pony but haven't made it over there yet, GO! I can almost guarantee you'll have the aha moment you're looking for of, "Yep, this is the one. We've found our space." That's exactly how it was for both me and my colleague, who coincidentally found and checked out EP separately the same week (after visiting a string of other locations) and came back to each other immediately knowing we didn't have to look any further. The space itself is a perfect mix of spacious and intimate. You can go big or reel it in, depending on your project's needs. For us, we were using the massive space of Pony 1 to shoot pretty fragile subject matter with a very small crew, and we were able to create the sense of intimacy we needed. Oh, and the parking situation is a HUGE PLUS, especially considering it's located in DTLA. I usually dread having to find parking Downtown, but was so pleasantly surprised when I had no issues, whether I was heading over on a weekday or a weekend. EP also has a drive-in you can use. That being said, a great space can be nothing without the right people behind it. Jen and Leila, the powerhouse women behind EP, were genuinely excited about working with us from the first day I met them. Their passion is palpable, and they're easy to reach out to and communicate with before, during, and after booking. They were very patient with us and were quick to respond to any and all our questions. During the shoot weekend itself, they made everything so easy. One of them was always nearby, ready to check in and be of service, but they know how to give you your space and let you do your thing. What they've cultivated here is rare and exciting, and I can't imagine anyone visiting and not immediately wanting to be a part of it. From the incredible space to the passion, great communication, and collaborative spirit of the owners, you're in great hands at EP. All I can say is that this space was awesome, and the hosts of it are even better. I would highly recommend booking this as your next space. They have all the gear, utilities and amenities you would need. We were here for three straight days shooting a short film and it was a lot of fun. We had no issues with the location and the hosts made sure of that. The are very good at communicating and make sure there are no surprises. They also work with students very well and are reasonable. Where do I even begin. These warehouse studios are huge, accessible, and perfect for most indie shoots. Jen and Leila are simply amazing and some of the most accommodating owners I've ever had the pleasure of working with. They were always checking in to make sure our production had what it needed location wise, and they genuinely cared about the overall project. For my last shoot, I needed to book a location within a week's notice. Leila was able to stay in rapid communication with me to make sure a schedule could work for both of us. This was truly the best support from a studio I've ever received. The studio has fairly priced rates to rent tables, chairs, etc. They also have G&E packages for rental as well. Life is definitely easier when you can cut down on pick up and returns. 5/5 Stars - only because it won't let me rate it higher. read more
