Almost feels like many of the reviews on here are fake. We hired them to add several new pages and landing pages to our existing website. We explicitly defined our scope of work and expected timeline to launch our website from the beginning. Many of the items we sent to David were lost in emails even after multiple rounds of Zoom calls and him recording. We worked with David and his developer, which happens to be some person outside of the US, for about 3 weeks. Eventually nothing was completed for us to launch on our existing website. After rounds of back and forth with content that we supplied and many emails asking for various items all the time, David started asking for more money and complained that wanting to launch our new pages after 3 or 4 weeks was too much for him to handle and that he was not able to work under this kind of pressure. We had no issue paying him more money as it was way cheaper to begin with (just like his service) however, it seemed like he knew he was not capable of delivering something professional after all and decided to quit. We agreed to receive our money back and part ways. Our wasted time and frustration will never get sompensated and it was clear that our time and trust to this business did not mean anything to this team. Basically zero customer service. More importantly, we really didn't appreciate the fact that they use cheap labor from some other country with language barriers and only act as a middle person. We specifically didn't want this type of service as we had interviewed several other developers on Upwork and other freelance websites, but eventually ended up getting the same level of service at a more expensive price. Basically nothing is done in house, David is just the face. Rarely inclined to leave negative reviews but unfortunately this is a fair observation based on the service that was provided to us. Then second time around same mistake same ingredients on all boxes. Joella didnt seem to care. Luckily i checked it the second time and made her change it . Its gets worse. In 6 months they were unable to erect a proper website for me the content of which i wrote and pretty much gave it to them. My project was delayed so much that the State of California send me a notice they will cancel my sellers permit . One day before thanksgiving when i called their office 3 times finally Ben and Joella spoke with me and this lady Joella actually said I need to give her more time and allow her to work and Mr Ben was angry that I said everything is chaotic and that I was trigerring him .I paid them so much money , i paid for their mistakes . I donated money for their charity event . Not once have they apologized or showed any remorse on the contrary they seem upset and bitter that i ended the professional relationship. First they bait you in with their name, 'Namecheap',.. and an upfront lowball domain price. Then- besides the fact that their domain RENEWALS cost 3 - 4 times as much when you do renew.. besides that.. NOW they have your credit card number.. WATCH OUT!! The illegitimate charges are about to begin. They will charge your card for services - that - when you bought your domain - you specifically declined.. So the initial bill is like.. $7.. Then suddenly it's another $9.88... and $15.88... (all the while they're banking on you not catching on for a few months.. if at all. Now multiply that grift by thousands of cards they have in their cache.... You will probably get an 'email alert of a renewal charge to.. in my case it was a 'Marketing Suite'.. because this way they still look legitimate to authorities if there is an investigation. AGAIN - EVEN THOUGH you INFORM 'Namecheap' that you never bought a 'marketing suite'... And even though you go to your new namecheap 'account' and select 'DO NOT RENEW'.. It won't matter.. They will smile at you, but ignore your protests, They will ignore your 'Do not renew' selection - They will go ahead and 'renew' services that you never ordered.. charging your card upwards of 3 times what your 'cheap domain' cost. Another funny fact... they will RENEW what you DIDNT order just a few weeks after you didn't order it. You bought a domain. That's it. But now they have your card. Bottom Line: Give NameCheap your CC and it's OFF TO THE RACES!! No matter HOW MANY TIMES you tell them 'I DID NOT BUY A MARKETING SUITE'.. 'DO NOT CHARGE MY CARD'.. They will tell you - 'Go into your account and select 'do not renew' (this for something you never asked for). Then proceed to ignore what you just wasted your time doing, and charge your card anyway. The emails warning you of pending renewal charges will continue... So you misakenly think these are normal people; that you reply to the emails and REMIND Namecheap that you did NOT order a 'Marketing Suite'.. and to be sure to NOT CHARGE YOUR CARD.. Hiding their laughter, by way of reply they will ask for your log in information.. So you supply it.. - and around and around it goes - Because finally - no matter HOW many times you provide your login data.... On D (debit) Day,... you look at your bank account and !VIOILA!... They went ahead and charged your card for the unrequested services and for the RENEWAL of an email that you only just bought a month ago.
