Never would I have thought that I would be standing right in the middle of the second biggest mall…read morein the U.S. But there I was on Mother's Day. Perhaps it's because of the sheer size of the mall or perhaps people were busy celebrating Mother's Day elsewhere, but it wasn't as busy or crowded as I would've expected. Although the food court wasn't packed, the wait for Jollibee was insane (probably a 25-35 minute wait). It was worth it though, I hope more malls in the U.S. have Jollibee. After eating, I explored the mall a bit. American Dream has a NHL-reuglate size ice skating rink (entrance is on the first floor, where you can also get the tickets). But what's wilder is the ski and snowboard resort - the first indoor snow resort in North America. I didn't go in but I could feel the chilliness from the condensation on the windows. There's also an NJ Hall of Fame, laser tag, Sesame Street Learn & Play, and Nickelodeon Universe inside. You can enter Nickelodeon Universe (no tickets needed) but you need to buy points to go on the rides. Even if you don't go on the rides, there are plenty of photo ops. I saw Spongebob and Squiward taking photos on a stage. Other cool things about American Dream: A ferris wheel called American Dream that allows you to see the NYC skyline, a Toys "R" Us train that goes around on one floor, and HMart. There is a fancier part of American Dream with high-end stores, too. I didn't come here for shopping though. Plenty of spots in the parking garage and it's $6 for each vehicle, though the first 15 minutes are free.

We're talking overnight here, and unless it's near your home, forget it. The EVgo and EVconnect chargers are mostly level 2 and unreliable, I've found that the Electrify America or Volta chargers are best. That being said, this station is ALWAYS full, and you will sit in the car waiting your turn for quite a while. The plus is a nearby Cafe Bene that has a bathroom, hot bev, seating, and many good sweet treats, so you can hang out inside once you get plugged in. So many stations are under maintenance, though, all over, no matter what brand charger station you use. If dealers expect to sell these Tesla knockoffs, there needs to be more working stations. Almost every station has one bay unusable, and here is no exception. A little drama while waiting tonight, a Tesla started to smoke (why he wasn't using a Tesla station, idk). Fort Lee cops and fire came out, and it was a little excitement during the boring task of waiting in the line. All was well, no fire, thankfully. I would say if you're considering an EV, do a lot of research and test drives. I would recommend renting and driving it for a week, if only to see how you will deal with the headache of charging. The upside is: helping to get our country off gas and oil! And a full charge is about $20...

Looking at airport options in the NYC area, there was JFK, LaGuardia, and EWR. I've never flown out of EWR before, and saw that it had the latest flight leaving NYC at 9:00 P.M EST. This was helpful since I had to leave the office at around 5:30, and needed time to get out of the Financial District in NYC on a Wednesday evening. I booked a nonstop on JetBlue out of Newark, and thankfully the whole airport experience ended up being pretty smooth. The airport itself was much nicer than I expected, especially for such a busy New York area airport. The terminal felt modern, clean, and fairly easy to navigate in the terminal that I was at for the Jetblue flight. There were plenty of food options, seating areas, and charging spots! Flying out of Jetblue from EWR was wonderful. Getting to the terminal and gate wasn't too difficult. The boarding was well organized and there was plenty of open seats on the plane at that flight time. It also arrived a few minutes early into Orlando! Newark Liberty was a good airport experience for a first visit. I only tried [2] different food options though before boarding my flight. It was a quick experience, but I would consider flying out of EWR again for another nonstop flight.
