I purchased a turn table. I paid $400 cash. I hooked up the player to my system and the table was warped. I returned the player. They replaced the motor. I again hook the player up to my system and nothing.I again return the player.I have called for two months. The owner is out of town. The record player is in their possession and I hear nothing. I finally speak to the owner...two months later. Basically she said.. she has personal problems , she travels ect. And she will not refund my $400. So basically they sale you a used product that should work. When the item is faulty they do nothing. I would never buy anything from this place. Everyone works for their self. No one is in charge and they just pass the problem around. Then they try and convince you that it is your fault.. Because Tracy the owner is having man problems.. I was completely honest from the beginning.. Buy new..avoid any temptation you have to walk in this store. It makes me sad to see an owner not take any responsibility for the store she owns. Took my Marantz SR7010 into Electronics Center over a year ago to have it looked at. I was told they were very busy and it would probably be 6 months before they could look at it. I told them that was ok because I really didn't think I had a choice if I wanted it repaired. Paid the 125.00 check out fee that would go towards the repair. 9 months in I called to see how things were going and was told at that time it would probably be about 12 months before it got in to be looked at . At 12 months I checked in again and was told I was getting closer to being looked at maybe a couple of more months. At 14 months I get a phone call that they looked at my unit and the newer Marantz Receivers are difficult to get access to the circuit board to make any repairs. FOUTRTEEN MONTHS AND NOW YOU TELL ME ITS TO HARD FOR YOU TO FIX! Come and get your unit we can't help you. Oh by the way we are still charging you the 125.00 check out fee. Wow I don't even know how to respond no empathy just that's the way it is. A friend told me that there is a authorized Marantz repair center in Overland Park I left the Electronics Center and went straight over there to see if they could help me. Long story short 2 days later I am watching Dolby Atmos movies again. I will never use Electronics Center again! read more

Have a 1979-80 turntable that had been sitting in closet for almost 20 yrs, my Dad bought brand new - he was extremely heavy smoker so there was build up. I knew he took care of his stereo equip so was good chance it just needed a hella of a good cleaning, belt and such. Apparently the spindle was froze but they got it loose and was able to get it up and going. Just picked it up yesterday, and played albums I haven't heard in 30 years - Uriah Heep, ELP, Foreigner, Scorpions and a brand new Foo Fighter album!!!! I am extremely happy. Earlier this year I purchased a vintage McIntosh stereo receiver off of Craigslist--it's a high end, 50-year's old vacuum tube system that is still in very high demand. I thought it sounded great when I purchased it, but after taking it home, I realized that the performance wasn't quite as good as I would expect. I saw a service being advertised on ebay that refurbishes these specific units for $1,000. That seemed exorbitant, so I took it into the Electronic Center. They had the circuit diagram for my system, and went through all of the tubes and capacitors, and replaced the ones that weren't performing to specifications. They then cleaned it inside and out. Now the unit sounds phenomenal. The entire job was less than $300. I enjoy having electronics that are worth repairing, and am glad there is an electronics repair store that really knows what they are doing. read more

Don't take your McIntosh here. Dropped mine off, waited 3 months for them to call and tell me they were STARTING to repair it, took another month to "fix" and only botched it. Took it to a certified McIntosh servicer who told me they screwed up the ground wire and dropped solder on a ribbon wire which screwed up a channel on the receiver. Also had them replace all lamps and low and behold two went out two months after getting it back. These guys are full of it. Probably able to repair cheap crap, but don't bring your high end stereo equipment here. Gave them a chance to repair again but they were still too incompetent to fix it. McIntosh MA 6300. read more

I had a 1 year old Crosley multi-unit with a tone arm that had been severely knocked out to the side. When I brought it in, the gentleman (wish I'd asked his name) fixed it on the spot, spending about 20 minutes and showing me how to avoid the problem in the future. When I asked how much, he said "10 or 15; whatever you want to do". (I gave him 15; worth every penny to me.) He advised me that if he'd had to keep it, it would have been about 3 1/2 months, since they're that backed up. I'd still go back there in a heartbeat. read more

Dont bother contacting these morons. I have a surround sound system that had a power supply problem in the DC section. I took it in and the guy just wasted my time. Talking real slow, he basically bad mouthed my unit by saying things like, well it's 9 years old, time for it to quit, the processor board usually ends up being the problem and then your screwed. Could be the Blu Ray drive, could be this, could be that, yada yada yada... You could leave it but it would probably be a waste of money. We're 6 to 8 weeks out on service... Good god man hire some more people ! I would of paid 50 bucks and waited a week or so but noooo. I ended up taking it to a friend who replaced a bad resistor for .78 cents. 78 CENTS... System now works great. Like it has for years. This is the second time I've gone here and they are no help whatsoever. Don't waste your time, these people are clueless jacka$$e$. read more

Have purchased vintage audio gear and had my McIntosh amp worked on by these guys. Today they spent about 15 minutes to adjust my turntable and address cartridge issue-and refused payment for their time. Great group-audiophiles would be screwed without these guys to guide us. read more
